Axel
Axel's trip to the wishing star's alter had gone well, or so he had thought. He still hadn't a clue as to whether or not his wish had come true. There were so many others wishing for things as well. But he had been as sincere as he could have been, giving up his ability to fly, though temporarily, and more permanently, a piece of his horn. Either way, he felt that it was worth it. He stared at his reflection in the pond he sat next to. What he wouldn't give to have someone to share his life with.

Kveta
What was that? Who’s there? Is someone calling me? It was like a tinkling of bells. Slowly the mare surfaced to consciousness. Her eyes opened for the first time and she looked around. Forest greeted her gaze. The unicorn rose to her feet. Shaking her coat to rid it of the clinging moss where she’d lain, she took a hesitant step and then another. This was what it was like to walk? Gradually her steps steadied. She turned her attention to the forest surrounding her. Something, or perhaps someone, had called her here. The scent of water enticed her in one direction. She was thirsty! Gingerly she pushed her way through the foliage. A final branch moved aside; the mare found herself beside a pond. Opposite her across the pond was a dark pink stallion.

Axel
Axel's ears swiveled toward the noise in the woods, though it was faint. Whatever was coming toward him was being careful. Axel's breath left him as the unicorn emerged. She was beautiful. Pale like starlight and pink markings that almost matched his own coloring. He quickly got to his hooves and tried not to stare, but to place a smile upon his lips. "Greetings to you my fair lady." He was at a loss for words. How bizarre that he thinks of wanting a lifemate and a mare comes out of the woods before him.

Kveta
She regarded the stallion a moment. He was an utterly striking dark pink. She tried not to blush as he called her a fair lady. What an awkward thing to say to someone he’s just met! Instead she looked swiftly around. They were the only ones in the area. Awkwardly she coughed. “Pardon me for intruding. Do you know where I happen to be?” It was the best she could come up with. She shifted nervously from hoof to hoof.

Axel
"Other than by a pond in the woods, no, I can't say as I know. This place has no name, that I am aware of, nor do many of the places here." He took in her nervous shifting and tried to put her at ease, "I can leave if it would make you more comfortable, though I can assure you that I mean you no harm." The deep pink alicorn dipped his head low, extending his right foreleg as he did so to drop down into a bow.

Kveta
The mare blinked. “Oh. Well I guess it doesn’t matter. I don’t really know where I’m going.” Now that she thought about. What was she doing? Who was she? Unsettling questions really. She couldn’t remember anything before waking up here. Finally she shook her head at his offer. “No that is alright. I am fine.” She was amused by his bow. “Why are you doing that?” The pink mare tossed her head at his pose in amusement.

Axel
Axel furrowed his brow and straightened himself, "You have never had anyone bow to you before? In some cultures, it is a sign of respect. In others, it is appropriate to bow to a lady when one meets her. In others still, it is a sign that on acknowledges the other being."

Kveta
Her head tilted and her ears flicked forward. “Oh is that what it’s called then? It has so many different meanings.” She couldn’t imagine so many different places when her world consisted of just the two of them and the immediate forest. “I can’t seem to remember anything from before when I woke up over there then came this way.” It was baffling really. She knew what it meant to graze or to run, but she had never done any of those things in her memory.

Axel
Concern washed over Axel. He couldn't imagine what it would be like to wake up and not remember anything. "How horrible!" He stamped his hoof into the green grass. "Do you remember your name?"

Kveta
Until he said something, nothing truly was odd for except for that feeling. Now she wondered. Was she normal? The mare pondered his question. Did she have a name? One drifted up from her subconscious. “Yes. I am Kveta,” she replied. The name sounded right on her tongue. “What’s your name?”

Axel
"Kveta..." The name rolled off his tongue with such ease that he felt as if he was always meant to say it. And he liked saying it. "I am Axel." Axel's deep pink color hid the fact that he blushed a bit. Where was his bad a** shell when he needed it? Somehow, he just couldn't summon it up. Bass, his familiar would be laughing at him once he found out. And because he couldn't resist saying her name again, "Kveta, would you like to stay with me? There can be some safety in numbers, and not every soquili is decent." He shuddered at the thought of a Skinwalker or a Kalona meeting her before he had.

Kveta
The way he said her name. It made her suddenly feel funny inside. She took a deep breath and tried to tell her heart to quick that flip flopping inside her chest as it was rather uncomfortable. Then he said it again and her heart refused to obey. What was this feeling? Suddenly she found herself very much wanting to remain in his company. One side of her was ready to jump at the chance, the other side stubbornly dug in its hooves. Yesnoyesnoyesno! Kveta glanced away. His logic gave her the excuse she could use. “I suppose you have a point. I will travel with you Axel until I become better acquainted with this area.” There, she promised herself, she could leave him whenever she wanted. But did she really want to?

Axel
Axel could have purred when she said his name. Of course, he could have purred when she said she'd stay with him. He knew, anatomically, that he wasn't able to purr, but it didn't stop him from wanting to. Now at least he wouldn't have to watch her leave right away. "I promise, you won't regret this." The smile that he gave her was the biggest one he could manage. He would have taken to the air in joy had he been able to.
