Polysporin couldn't recall how she ended up where she currently was. Everything felt strange to her. Not that she wasn't independent enough to survive but since her awakening, who whole world had crumbled into dust. Family, friends, people she used to know. They had all turned against her, the pain of feeling so alone was so overwhelming she had spent the entire night in tears. Having woken early and still alone, with poofy red eyes and crust in their corners. Her nose and throat felt dry, and her legs ached with the strain she had placed on them from running the day before.
Pushing herself up to her feet, Polysporin took in a breath of fresh air. Outside the city was nice, it sure felt safer here than where she previously was. Hugging her arms close to her body, the young senshi shivered in the morning air. She had fallen asleep under a tree, refusing the acceptance of any tents or beds in the few homes that had been erected in the vicinity.
Her eyes searched the area for anything familiar. Anything she could possibly cling to for assistance, guidance even. The only thing possible in her line of site was a building that appeared far more structurally sound than the rest of the place. With it being in the center of everything from Polysporin's guess, that was likely her next place to go.
One foot in front of the other pulled her forward. Ignoring the terrible grumbling in her stomach Polysporin approached the central building. What was she supposed to do now? The sound of a few children laughing in a game of tag pulled longingly at her heart. Was it ok for her to join in?

Shalott was sitting by watching her six year old daughter Sarah playing with some of the other children. The day was deceptively beautiful and she let her baby have some fun. With everything she'd suffered recently, indeed most of her life, it only made sense to let her be a kid while she could. Losing her sister and brother was a large blow to the little girl, much worse than moving to the resistance settlement and away from her childhood home. She was two when they decided to move out of the city because it wasn't safe. Once the Negas took the library there was no place safe but somewhere away from the city.
Sarah wasn't powered. Some of the children she played with were. It was still bizarre to Shalott to have people see her in and out of her Royal Knight form. They all had to stick together now.
It took a minute for her to notice the little senshi just outside of the main building. She looked nervous and out of place and the mother's heart just opened up immediately, unable to help it. Life didn't stop because she was suffering and people still needed her to be strong. She got up from where she was sitting and approached the young teen. She wouldn't have much in common with the young children but perhaps that was alright for now.
"Are you alright?"

Polysporin startled as someone addressed her. Turning to look up at what appeared to her a warm and welcoming face, she couldn't help but want to burst into tears. To call out to her mother, to want to be embraced and told everything was okay. But this wasn't the time for that was it? They were in a war, a war she had no idea even existed until a few days ago. She could feel her puffy eyes swell again with tears. She was sure she had cried her tear tank empty from the previous day, however that didn't seem to be the case now.
Trembling, Polysporin shook her head. She wasn't ok. "I don't know where I am. I don't know what's happening. I." She sniffled among falling tears. "I just want my family back! I want things to go back the way they were." She felt so totally alone, lost, she felt abandoned in a world she didn't know.
"And I don't know why I'm being hunted, why do people hate me so much? I usually do everything I can to help, so why...?"

"Oh, sweetheart!"
Shalott couldn't help her motherly instinct rising to the surface. The need to comfort this child, even in the middle of her own pain, superseded everything else. Maybe because of her pain it was more important. She seemed so young to be in this war and that just set off a fresh wave of anger at whoever decided these sorts of things. Cosmically it was just unfair. She drew the young teen toward where she had been sitting and offered her a chair. This sort of news wasn't the type of thing to talk about standing.
How to describe it to a girl that had no idea how this all started? Who just missed her family? It was hard for Shalott not to be bitter considering her own recent losses but she tried to be gentle about it now for the sake of present company, her own six year old included.
"They don't hate you. It's just that they've been...poisoned. And this poison makes them think a certain way. It makes them forget about kindness. They fear us. And they are dangerous because of that fear."
That's why they were out in the middle of the woods safe only among themselves. That's why she abandoned her house and brought her young child to be raised in little better than a tent in the woods.
"But you're safe here. No one will hurt you. I won't let them; I promise."
She'd be damned if another child slipped through the cracks on her watch. Not again, not ever. God damn it she needed to be strong!
