Roman Foi Slowly, very reluctantly, he felt himself resurfacing into consciousness. 'What was this? It was cool... and moist. He was wet! Why was he wet?' The fellow felt the mushy ground beneath him sink a little as he breathed shallow breaths. His heart rate was picking up to a painful rate, throbbing in his head and the hollow place of his throat. He'd been sleeping entirely too long. What was he doing there, anyway? He didn't want to open his eyes. He wanted to fall back into the blackness, where it was calm and dark. xxxYuki Bearxxx The consistency of the mud was, to be quite honest, wholy unpleasant against his hooves and ankles.
"Awful," he muttered, pausing to stare down at his grime covered legs, before continuing.
Kayode had no idea where he was going, but he knew that no matter where he went, there would be something new to learn about. The Unicorns that he had just left had taught him much about herbs, so he had decided it would be a nice transition to go off on his own and see if he could collect specimens for himself. They had mentioned riverbeds were excellent places for diverse plant life. Taking their advice, he had followed the rivers edge and continued doing so.
He stopped, squinting at a big lump laying in the shallow part of the river. What could that be...? He approached cautiously. He knew that he was small in comparison to many things in this land, and, therefore, inherently weaker compared to the myriad of other breeds. Kayode was but a few feet away when he concluded that the lump was another stallion. The erratic rise and fall of the stallion's chest told him that he wasn't dead at least. The male was horribly muddy, but Kayode could see some white peeking out from beneath the brown sludge caked to his coat. Now how to approach this... He had gotten slightly better with speaking to others but, he didn't really have it down to a science yet. He cleared his throat.
"Hello. Are you injured or in immediate need of assistance?" Roman Foi He felt himself surface for a second, drawn out by.. well.. by something. He didn't care enough to stay surfaced, so he left himself sink back down into the blackness, where it was safe. He didn't exist, he didn't have to hurt. There was no pain. There was simply, nothing. All consciousness left his mind as quickly as it came; like a flutter in his mind, a blink. His heart beat slowed from the intense pulse he had trying to awaken; slower... slower still... It was actually beginning to drop off at a dangerous rate. There was nothing keeping him tethered, nothing keeping him with the rest of the world. He was free to sink into the mud beneath him, and never stop. xxxYuki Bearxxx Kayode watched with a critical eye as the stallion's side started to slow in it's repetitive rise and fall. The stallion had not answered his question, leading the mini to believe that he was indeed in need of immediate assistance. What assistance he required, however, was an entirely different story. Before Kayode could look him over properly, he had to get the stallion out of the cold river, which would be a feat itself. He rounded the stallion, splashing into the muddy river. Ignoring the cold bite of the water, he pushed against the stallion's side.
"While you may be unconcious, I would very much appreciate some assistance on your end in this endeavor ," he huffed in between pushes. Roman Foi Something pierced his blackness, tearing a gash into it that forced him to surface again. Why couldn't he be left in peace? He wasn't bothering anyone... at least he thought he wasn't. His body was being rocked by something, something that was causing a sharp pain in his side and back. Anger pulsed through him, his blood rushing to his head, making him feel as though it was going to break through his skull. Groaning in pain, he realized his maw was almost completely sunk into the mud. Suddenly the need for air was more important the pain he was feeling. He lifted his neck enough to allow proper, clean air flow, and his eyes opened. The brightness pierced them, and he blinked, bleary tears streaming from them. What was this? What was happening? xxxYuki Bearxxx Kayode paused long enough in his pushing to acknowledge that the stallion had moved and made noise before continuing to push against his side.
"Oh good, you have yet to expire. Can you roll over?" Roman Foi Words... he could hear someone saying.. words. He didn't catch what they were, and didn't really care because the pain was rushing back now. Oh, so much pain. He was stiff, and bruised, cut, and caked in mud that pulling his hair when he shifted his weight. But there was a drive to move, now. There was enough of him conscious to realize he wasn't supposed to be drifting into the blackness. Why had it been so appealing? His thoughts were then over run with pain once more, as he tried to shift his body into a resting position on his legs. It took time, and took a lot of effort, but he eventually was able to lay on his legs, head hanging. The weight of his mane seemed off; like it was heavier than it should be. He realized, mud was probably caked there too. What in the world was he doing down here?
