Teallite frowned as her boots crunched softly on gravel, and took herself off of the small path that wound through the quaint little suburban park. She could see the looming silhouettes of the fences surrounding the baseball fields off in the distance, and the vague incoherent shape in the other direction that she assumed was probably a children s jungle-gym and play area of some sort, though without lights its form seemed confusing and mangled.

She walked now through the soft manicured grass, following along side the path instead of treading upon it. The park itself was not lit, as it was officially closed to the public after dark, but that didn't stop teen's from coming and partying in the forest part of the park that held the jogging paths, or the tall ledges that surrounded the little sitting garden, mostly used by elder fold who went to feed the pigeons or play on the stone chess board there.

Teallite thought that maybe if she was lucky, she would stumble across some drunken teens, or other such hooligans and gain herself some relatively easy energy, though her hopes were slowly fading away at that. She continued down beside the path until the gravel gave way to packed earth, and the soft grass turned to shrubs and trees. No sounds of rowdy teens or partying college students. Only a faint sense of energy near-by. It felt like chaos, or at least what she had come to associate with chaos, and also not at the same time. Curious teallite followed her senses. She didn't have a partner with her today, Alluminite busy with his ever looming school work, but this wasn't an order signature she was feeling, for sure. So she thought it was relatively safe to go alone.

Tired of feeling weak and inferior, Super Sailor Canopus had ventured out of her dorm for the evening and was quick to find a place of her own to practice. Too long had she wandered around aimlessly and allowed others to get the better of her, and with the terrifying nightmares that kept assaulting her, night after night of the same horrific scenery of her beloved city under such bone-chilling darkness, she could not afford to be weak. She had to be strong, not only for herself, but for her court as well... she'd be strong for each and every one of them, and she was determined to use her strength to protect them from all enemies, even those of the Negaverse if she had to.

Instead of tracking down citizens for energy donations, she took to training. Not that she knew how to train on her own, but she'd make due with what she had to work with for now. That was why she brought herself to this quite but familiar suburban park, looking to face off against the tetherball pole for practice. She was doing horribly, very much so, but at least there was no one there to see or mock her. No, just Canopus, all alone, so focused on not knocking herself silly with the swinging ball and not at all aware of the approaching Chaos energy.

Teallite slipped through the ink shadows, towards the energy signature, like a tiny blonde moth to a flame. As she got closer she heard a strange thwaping sound, of like a fist onto something akin to leather, yet more hollow that a strike onto a living creature, and the rattle of chains. Teallite rounded a soft sloping corner of hedge that lined the path, looking into what would appear to be another little sport court, this one filled with various boxed in areas that housed sand for horse shoes, and an assortment of polls, like one would use for volleyball.

And there was the sound that she was hearing, who it would appear was also the owner of the energy signature she was following. The girl was attacking the tether-ball like it had given her great personal insult, and it made Teallite's lip quirk into a tine grin before she let it smooth back into her normal serious expression.

She strolled a few paces closer, thanks to the dirt beneath her, meticulously free of rocks thanks to the groundskeepers, her steps were quiet. She wasn't really intentionally sneaking closer to the girl, but the combination of curiosity and literally having the need to go unnoticed beaten into her, she was only a few arms lengths away from the senshi, directly behind her, when she spoke.

" You know, generally people play this game in the daylight. " There was very little light in the little sports court, the only illumination coming from the stars and moon, and the floodlights that kept the parking lot illuminated coming in through the trees.

Had Canopus been aware that she was being watched, she would have felt ashamed that someone thought of her being so brutal. That wasn't like Canopus at all, she told herself, not realizing just how hard she was hitting the tetherball even as her knuckles and fists were turning red under her black gloves. No, she was simply too focused on the task at hand, knowing that if she missed hitting the ball once that she'd have to rely on dodging the incoming ball, and while it would have made for a good practice, she doubted that she'd be able to pull it off.

'Don't miss the ball, don't miss the ball.' She told herself over and over again in her mind, still unaware of the approaching Chaos aura until it was literally upon her. Even then, she thought little of it- she didn't feel the subtle difference between hers and her own, not yet. She hit the ball again, and as it was swinging around, that was when she heard the voice come from behind, and Canopus screamed. "AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"

Without thinking, without looking, she turned around and swung an already balled up fist at the speaker and forgetting completely about the tetherball making its return orbit. All she knew was that there was a Negaverse officer behind her, and she was NOT going to be a victim of them a second time!

Teallite was still mildly amused by the aggressive determination to beat the snot out of that tether-ball, that she let out an equally startled scream as the senshi screamed.

For a split second they were both just standing there, screaming like a couple of little girls who saw a particularly large and nasty spider, before Canopus pivoted and threw a punch at her.

The fact that she was rather short, once again was not working in her favor. The Senshi's punch was coming right at her face. Tea had just a moment to raise one of her arms to take the majority of the punch, before being barreled over into a heap of ruffles. She was so tired of being hit by people who were higher rank then she was. This senshi felt like chaos, and felt like a super. But did the supers have to keep trying to knock her teeth in?

" WHAT THE HELL LADY?! " Teallite said with an angry flash of her teeth, before swinging out a leg to kick at the other girls ankle in a fit of indignant rage.

Though she was quick to react, her response time to the situation had come to a grinding halt when she actually opened her violet eyes and looked down at the one she struck at, surprised that she even managed to hit her instead of swing over her. She reeked of Negaverse chaos aura, but her attire didn't match, and in her confused state, she failed to capitalize on her advantage, watching as the officer fell down in front of her.

For a moment, it felt good, like all of her training and experiences had been worth something, but it didn't last long. First there was the guilt, as her vehement shout meant that she had approached her with no ill intentions. The second was the tetherball that came smacking her square in the shoulder. The third and final was the kick to her ankle, and down Canopus went.

The moment she hit the ground, though, she tried to curl into a ball, and once again she was screaming, but her tone was different at least. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! You startled me!"

The nega started to fall into the ground, thought not all from her kick at the girls legs. None the less, it was satisfying to see someone of a higher rank then herself to go down from a hit, instead of turning around and trying to smush her into Negaverse jam.

Though that initial flood of satisfaction died out rather quickly, as teallite rose to her knees to strike the senshi again ( being almost killed once was enough, thank you very much ) the senshi curled into a ball and started shouting apologies. Which made Tea pause, one arm raised up like she was going to drive her elbow into the senshi.

The blonde hesitated.... which she in theory knew could be a deadly mistake, but the senshi felt chaos, so maybe she was being honest. Or was this a trick from the white moon senshi who traipsed around the town like the owned it.

With a sigh Teallite summoned her teddy bear, and whacked the senshi on the shoulder with her "weapon". The plush stuffed toy gave a resounding squeak, almost a parody to their girly screams earlier. " Remind me never to startle you again. you could have taken one of my teeth out. " The negaverse agent sounded a little bit grumpy about that. She kind of sank down so she was sitting beside the curled up senshi in a heap of ruffles in lace, instead of looming over her.

It was quite sad, really, and even she knew it. She had spent all this time training, punching a tetherball, only to find herself lying on the ground, arms covering her head and curling into a ball to protect her vital areas. Perhaps the officer would realize the mistake and forgive her, or maybe the officer would think this was all a clever ruse to lure her into a false sense of security and she'd be too hesitant to strike at her again in case she had a plan.

Canopus didn't have a plan, besides to apologize sincerely for her mistake and hope that'd it be enough to spare her this evening, at least until she could find a mirror and flee through it. She was certain that no one else was around them or could hear them to come to her rescue anyways, so if this failed, then she was on her own.

Something hit her shoulder, but it was soft and make a humorous squeak, but Canopus wasn't laughing. She uncurled herself and lowered her hand to see the teddy bear, and she only felt more foolish to have allowed herself to be startled so badly by her. When it was clear that there'd be no immediately retaliation, she sat up and looked away, hoping she could hear her from this angle. "I... scare easily. I'm sorry... I didn't actually knock a tooth out, right? Are you okay?"

Teallite watched the senshi, a frown still on her face as she let her teddy bear fall into the dirt, rubbing at her sleeved arm. Sense the girl moved slowly and looked away from her, she assumed she really didn't mean to attack, so she continued to sit there, watching the other.

" Your forgiven. I guess its better to be over cautious when it comes to people startling you. Though you should really pay a bit more attention to the power signatures around you. It can get you into trouble. " She said, her voice coming off icy, but that was just the way she was. She was speaking from personal experience. " Next time it might not be another officer of chaos walking up behind you.... " She paused, her frown increasing. " You are chaos right? " Once again, she felt like she was, but she also felt different then the other chaos senshi she had met.

And there was no trademark shattered hole marks on her, at least none that she could see.

" No, you didn't actually knock one out. If it had made contact with my face it probably would have. It was a good punch. " She considered for a moment, flexing her hand carefully. This was the arm that only a few months ago Thraen had snapped so severely she hadn't been able to do more then twitch her fingers for weeks. " I will be fine. You? "

So far, things had settled down into a more manageable situation, and Canopus was grateful that the Negaverse lieutenant was willing to forgive her. It all did seem like an honest mistake, unless her innocent act was so good that it completely fooled the Senshi of Longevity. She pushed herself back to her feet, well aware that the officer's eyes were firmly on her though not sure about the curiosity in her gaze. "I'm Canopus, and I'm part of the Dark Mirror Court. We were once your allies, but then your leaders broke it off, and... well..."

She obviously wasn't part of that ambush then, she reasoned with herself. She couldn't have been, otherwise she would have known exactly what she was and she would have struck her down. She was right- she did need to be more careful! Even when she complimented her on her punch, it wasn't enough for Canopus to drop her guard, and now her terror had turned into shame. She was no better than the officers that attacked her, was she? She claimed she was fine and she asked how she was doing, but Canopus couldn't bring herself to want to open up to her. What if... it was a ploy? What if she was simply there to distract her? This act... that's what it was, an act!

And like hell she would fall for it again. "I'm alright. I need to go... um... sorry again! Please don't follow after me..."

And just like that, she was gone, turning on her heels and rushing towards the mirror in the girl's bathroom that she had traversed through in the first place. Maybe she was being overly cautious, maybe she was even acting like a coward, but she wasn't going to take that chance. She ran, not once looking back to see if she was hot on her heels or if her fears were correct. She couldn't trust the Negaverse! Not a single one!

Teallite sat passively but observant, the girl practically flinched away at her words, which peeked the lieutenants interest. Sailor Vespa had seemed shy, but this senshi seemed outright scared of her. Like a puppy who had been kicked so many times that any time it heard a footstep it would try to make itself small and unseen. Had her fellow officers been mistreating the girl, or was this a carry over from her civilian life. It was a poor temperament for a soldier, but the girl had been out here, doing what she assumed constituted as training, which showed she had determination to survive.

" Hello Canopus, I am Lieutenant Teallite. " she listened. Aaah, that explained it. She had heard of the Dark Mirror Court, but had no chance as of yet to meet any of their ranks. " Ah yes, I have been told there was no longer a structured alliance between our two factions. But that doesn't necessarily mean you are my enemy either. "

She could practically watch the thoughts as they flew through the girls mind, written in her body language, she just couldn't figure out exactly what was causing them. And before she knew it, the girl was up and running " Uuh... " She reached out a tiny little hand as if to stop the girl from running off like a scared rabbit. Teallite scrambled to her own feet, taking almost two steps after her, sort of looking around, wondering if she had seen something that had spooked her. She didn't feel any power signatures, but the girl was jumpy as all get out.

Just around the edge of the clearing was a tiny stone building, with only two rooms, each marked on their door with the symbols for male and female restrooms. Discreet with a painted blue roof like one would find at a national park camp-ground or sports field. Teallite saw a faint glint of metal and heard a door slam, and assumed that the girl was maybe quite literal in her statement of needing to go. Maybe the girl had a nervous bladder or something. Once again the visual of a nervous little puppy came to mind.

Teallite frowned and loitered for a moment, and decided to go perch on a metal ark whos purposes eluded her, but was just tall enough for her to rest her behind on, taking the weight off of her feet, holding her teddy bear and waiting for the senshi to reappear. After fifteen minutes without the door opening, teallite started to frown in earnest, and dropped her feet back to the ground, walking over to the restroom and knocking. " Canopus, are you alright? " The light was off...? She flicked it on and peered around the little two stall room, poking each of the doors, opening to epty stalls. She had SEEN the door swing shut, so she knew the senshi had gone in here... There was no window. So were had the scared little senshi gone?

How very, very strange.
