Mintaka had made it a point to carry around a small backpack filled with supplies for basic healing on the field. Mostly because whenever she seemed to meet someone, there was some sort of injury to be had, could be had or yet to happen but better safe then sorry.

Even more so, she was deeply concerned about a certain young mantis senshi who didn't even think of dying as a complicated and messy affair.

Mintaka laced her hands together and stared hard at the city, conflict in her eyes due to the fact that she was really worried about Antiope, but also need to do her patrols for the evening.

Or maybe she could find Antiope, steal her for patrols, and keep an eye on her so that the senshi didn't hurt herself. Yes. Yes she could do this.

Now she...just had to find...Anti....

A simple senshi had simple past times.

Where as many a senshi would patrol and learn more about the city-wide plague of the Negaverse, Antiope was absolutely at ease with her own activities. To better herself, she needed to train. Training required steadfast dedication. It was something that Antiope had plenty of.

Tonight's concentration was focused upon form. The park had several areas that were open and spacious, allowing the Mantis senshi to move about unrestricted. She moved in a practiced manner, seeming to defend against make-believe enemies in a calm pace. It might have seemed too relaxed for what she was doing, but the girl was concentrating far more than one could assume.

She was training her muscles to know the movements perfectly. If she practiced too rushed or sloppy, her muscles would become just as sloppy. Precision was everything in these exercises.

As her body gradually came back to the starting resting position, the girl took in a deep breath to cleanse her mind.

A smaller order aura pinged, feeling a bit similar to Antiope, THANK GOODNESS, so Mintaka headed over to it. She landed in the park where Antiope was busy with training, which Mintaka could understand since the Mantis Senshi was very...VERY focused on her movements.

She took a seat to watch, not bothering to interrupt her quite yet.

Then she could bother Antiope for Patrols.

Antiope stood in place, still seemingly resting in her spot. Yet, without budging, she announced "I know you're there!"

It had nothing to do with power auras (which the senshi remained oblivious to), but rather the noise which untrained feet used to land nearby.

The senshi seemed unconcerned despite the proclamation, and soon enough she began a new installment of movement, once more moving at the same slow pace. A calculated invisible-parry, a forceful jab to the air, the occasional spin in direction, and the well timed heel stomp to an unseen enemy. It was definitely not at full speed, but it did seem well practiced upon observation.

"Are you going to say something?" the green suited senshi eventually prompted as she continued, her movements remaining smooth and uninterrupted despite the momentary break in focus.

"Well I was trying to be quiet." Mintaka huffed, crossing her arms but remaining in her sitting spot. "How did you hear me? Fox ears?" She wondered if she was loud or something.

Was she breathing heavily? She'd need to practice that. A lady didn't breathe loudly, it was rude and distracting.

"I was watching." She did get up now, moving closer to the mantis senshi and smiling. "Hello Antiope, Are you practicing your martial arts tonight?" Well of course she was, but it seemed rude to just assume. Maybe this was like Antiopes form of yoga or meditation. Cleansing the mind and body of thoughts and relaxing into a higher state of mind.

"I came to see if you'd like to patrol with me tonight?"

With a deep breath, the senshi explained "Anything that distracts my concentration when I am training is easy enough to hear..."

Her foot slid across the grass in a calculated manner, before she eventually moved the rest of her body to follow the same path. Beneath her sleeves a pair of Mantis-claws struck out, in a slow manner to continue and steady.

Fortunately for Mintaka she wasn't close enough for the Mantis Senshi to strike her.

There was a distinctive pause in her movements, seemingly outside of her paced practice.

"Ah, Minny! It's you!" Though she had paused, she didn't stop her action, eventually resuming her previous pace, but making certain to not strike at the other senshi.

It was hardly a thought as Antiope stated in the same paced tone "...why would I want to do something like that?"

"so...anything can distract you?" She didn't mean to make it seem rude, but what if a car drove past..or a couple walked through? or what about all the city sounds distantly heard in the....distance?

When she was recognized, Mintaka gave a deep breath and cocked her head. "It is indeed I! Well it's Mintaka. Yep that's me." She laughed a little, watching with the utmost interest as Antiope didn't seemed phased in her movements.

The question stunned the origami senshi for just a moment.

"oh..well.." She hadn't really thought of WHY NOT to patrolling, or why a senshi of order WOULDN'T want to do it. "i'm sorry, I just assumed that it was something that all white court senshi did? Hunting down Youma's and chaos to protect the city at night." She laughed awkwardly again, "But I take it you aren't interested in hunting Youma's?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 28, 2014 7:59 pm

Her arm swept upward in a sort of calculated uppercut, though far too slow to hit any sort of target. There definitely seemed to be a bit of force behind the imaginary strikes though, based off the way the air seemed to make whiff sounds with each strike.

The Mantis senshi still did not seem phased by the explanation offered to her. "You said that the youma were monsters... right?" If she remembered the conversation from their initial meeting, she was pretty sure the Origami senshi had said something along those lines.

Another deep breath and another swinging motion as her body seemed to slink about to face a new direction, she commented "...it'd be like just hunting an animal... there's no sport to that..."

Sure, if one attacked her, then Antiope would defend herself (with excellent form too), but she was not going to pretend to be a dogcatcher and hunt down the potential strays out there.

"I prefer to spend my time honing my skills, Minny."

Mintaka sheepishly kicked at a pebble, since Antiope seemed stubbornly focused on her martial arts. Don't get her wrong, she respected that Anti took her martial arts serious, and even admired that the mantis senshi still managed to focus on it in the midst of them talking.

But Mintaka was also a little selfish and wanted Antiope to pay more attention to her and to talk more and learn more about the other senshi.

"They are! Usually they are sent about by Negaverse generals or captains. Those are humans...well sort of humans. They are chaos agents that control the youmas." She blinked, "Well, that's true...but.." She mumbled to herself, "our job..." Before sighing.

"Well, we could find a negaverser who'd like to fight..." Okay that idea sounded terrible, especially since Mintaka wasn't a fighter AT ALL. She was just trying to appeal to Antiopes interest. "Or maybe you could teach me some of the moves? You like...glide and quick jab..."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 30, 2014 8:24 am

The Origami senshi's words were all starting to blur together into one heap of do not want. Which meant for a good while, there were no words offered by the Mantis senshi. All she did was continue her smooth transitions between various jabs as her feet moved her along the grass, eventually looping back to her starting position.

It was only once she had gotten to the starting rest position that she finally seemed to turn back into a normal girl.

"If the 'Negaverser' wanted to fight, they can come find me!" Finding them meant she was exerting more effort and would not be in prime physical condition after searching about for them.

However, Antiope's head tilted, causing the dangling gems from her hairsticks to sway a bit. "I wouldn't fight you, Minny."

Mintaka didn't have enough meat on her bones to truly come across as a challenge. All the Mantis senshi used to judge people in regards to strength was their physical appearance. It was just that simple to her.

Looking over the girl's uniform, she idly mentioned "What sort of fighting style would you even want me to teach you in the first place? It isn't as simple as just learning moves... you learn a style in which there are moves to build from."

Mintaka rubbed her chin, Antiope was making this extremely troubling to deal with it. But she had to remember that she respected the Mantis for what she did, and to be honest? Antiope WASN'T in danger, so what was the point of going to look for it?

Wait.

Did this mean she achieved her goal?

WAIT A MINUTE.

If Antiope didn't want to patrol, then that meant Mintaka DIDN'T have to follow the girl out of worry. And that also meant Antiope wouldn't get into fights, ESPECIALLY WITH STRONGER PEOPLE. Suddenly it was like everything made sense.

"Wait, pardon, fight me? Why would you fight me?" She blinked, "I mean you could if you wanted, and I'm sure you'd get some good blows in, but you do know I'm a lot stronger then I look right?" Because...because she was a super senshi. She wasn't offended by no means, but she had assumed that compared to regular senshi, she'd be able to take blows without them...killing her. Maybe something to test out?

"Well let's start there then? What kind of styles are out there? I saw Kung fu panda once, so I know theres Mantis-" A look at Antiope, "Tiger? Snake, Monkey and...oh Crane? What kind of fighting style is Crane? Those are fighting styles right, not just movie things?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 30, 2014 5:24 pm

There was a sort of confidence, a sort of oblivious certainty to Antiope's voice as she easily stated "No, you aren't." Not even a stammer or a brief thought to reconsider her statement. It was just out in the open as if it was a plain fact.

However, when the subject switched to the Kung Fu Panda movie, the Mantis senshi's brow seemed to twitch in agitation.

"...it was... a good movie..." The animators had done an amazing job looking into the cultures they were mimicking, but Antiope clearly had a beef with the movie.

"...but how could they just reduce Jackie Chan into a monkey?! A monkey... who hardly got any lines at all!!" It was unfair that the legitimate martial artist hardly got time to shine compared to some of the pretty faces that he had to share the movie with.

Straightening up her body, Antiope began to move about Mintaka, circling almost like an animal preparing to strike.

"Yes, there is the Northern Praying Mantis fighting style... and there is the Fujian White Crane style as well. If you plan to learn, then you also need to respect each style. In entirety."

There was a pause as she looked at the shoes Mintaka wore.

Tabi? she idly thought as she continued on.

"Fujian White Crane style emphasizes stability. It masters concentration, and teaches the importance of accuracy and evasion."

Mintaka blinked. Such a straight forward answer SHOULD piss anyone off, and in fact, she would be rightfully so to show Antiope that she could overpower the girl if needed. but she lacked the confidence and knowledge to do it, so getting pissed would be a waste of her energy. She smiled instead, unfazed by the honesty because it was something she accepted long ago.

"Nope, You are right. I'm not a fighter, so I wouldn't be strong in that. I'm much more suited for words." She could at least claim to be strong in that.

She watched with humor at Antiope's change in body language, most notably the girl's face as it changed at the mere mention of Kung fu Panda.

"Oh...you are a Jackie Chan fan?" Mintaka learned something knew about Antiope! It made sense for her to like Chan, he was a excellent martial artist and stunt man. Almost as amazing as Bruce Lee and Jet Li.

She watched as Antiope circled her now, her eyes never breaking from the mantis. "Sow me?" She asked innocently, "I can't respect something without it being seen right? Do you know the style well?" Anything with cranes seemed to interest Mintaka, and she equated it to the face the most common shape that fell from her magic was paper cranes. her eyes remained on Anti, as if the girl would actually show her.

"Anybody who does that many of their own fight scenes has my respect! It is a shame he has retired now, but it is for the best that he looks out for his own well being." There was a subtle nod, confirming her approval of his decision. Jackie Chan had proved himself over the years, it was time to leave an opening for the up and coming martial arts stars.

Antiope could dream.

The request for a demonstration did not go ignored as the Mantis senshi's circle widened so she could distance herself again. She rolled her head to one side, then to the other, rolling her shoulders a bit.

"I have been putting more emphasis on Northern Praying Mantis lately... so this might be a bit sloppy..."

The girl drew her arms towards her left side at hip level, then whipped them forward in an open stance. Her legs moved in sync so that her knees bent in rather than out. Her hands seemed to move exaggeratedly with her sleeves when she snapped the hands forward for a potential strike.

"The difference in style is that Fujian White Crane relies more on full arm for strike, like wings on a Crane, where as Northern Praying Mantis relies more on exact strikes."

With that both of her arms snapped forward, striking out straight in front of her before she seemed to slip forward, her foot sliding in towards her other ankle before curving back out to add some distance between the feet. Her arms whipped back up to her body, like she was trying to clutch something, but her hands once more moved in a manner where the sleeves exaggeratedly displayed the motion. There were a few repetitions with the motion before she threw in a stray high kick.

"There are also higher reaching kicks and jump kicks... Northern Praying Mantis does not utilize kicks too much, save for occasional heel kicks."

"Most defenitly, he has really proven himself as a good actor and martial artist, you don't often find the two together." Then again, most actors really got into their roles, even researching for years before the movie starts production to make sure they were completely in character. "Do you want to be a martial artist...actor Antiope? Like have movies that you do?" Maybe Antiope wanted to be famous.

Antiope moved further out, so Mintaka squinted her eyes to make sure she caught the details.

AND BOY, were there details. She was sure that Anti had the correct angle that her leg and arms were meant to be at memorized, and wondered briefly, if the mantis senshi's body just did it now out of habit. She tried to wait until Anti finished the demonstration, but couldn't help attempting to mirror the girl at some points, especially her arms.

"So the power comes from fulls strength from the shoulder to hand?" She pointed to her shoulder and down her arm, "Where mantis is like...quick jabs?" She was totally not a Karate buff at all, so she was trying to understand in words she could relate too.

"Higher kicks?" Mintaka watched as Anti's leg extended out and blinked. "Wow, that was so fast, can you like...slow it down? Can I come closer to see?"
