Not too much had changed for him since becoming a squire, except perhaps Sarras had become even more bitter and surly than before. He had reasons now, besides just his ridiculous outfit and pathetic excuse for a weapon, though he wouldn't have indulged anyone else on these reasons. No, they'd have to pull teeth and beat it out of him, assuming he was unfortunate enough to run into anyone else on his side of the fight this evening.

Mistral had changed him. It made him uneasy when around his own kind, though perhaps he could justify his distrust and narrow it down to Mercury knights instead. Or perhaps just one. Once again, he had no intention of telling anyone of the event, and he certainly had even less intention to run into her, or anyone else, so long as he could help it. As far as he was concern, the bittersweet success of Mistral only confirmed that his goals and the Code's goals, therefor the other knights' goals, were simply not the same. Whereas they had large aspirations that the bulk of them had absolutely no hopes in fulfilling, he had a smaller, more manageable but admittedly incredibly selfish goal.

Revenge.

Tonight he scoured the streets for any Chaos aura, hoping to find someone, ANYONE that he could pin down and get information out of. He felt an Order aura in the nearby area but paid little attention to it- if they felt him and wanted to track him down, they were welcomed to it, though he probably wouldn't give them the entertainment that they'd want. Unless they wanted a fist to the face. Then he could oblige.

His own time as a squire was still relatively short; Ashur had, when considering his actual use as a page, somehow miraculously gained more power for reasons he had yet to fathom. He'd put off asking Alya for an explanation as soon as it happened, but it was on his list for his next visit (assuming, of course, that he'd see her again). That being said, his usefulness as a squire was, at least in his own mind, still relatively limited. As far as he could tell, the only real upgrades he'd gotten was his two sticks had fused and become one -- he had admittedly rejoiced when his "weapon" finally became one -- and his uniform became a bit more tolerable.

Incidentally, he'd become more comfortable going out and actually patrolling a little bit more often. The summer came with an irritating lack of classes and more or less anything to actually do, so he found he had plenty of energy to expend on dusting a couple of youma and possibly getting into a scuffle or two. So far nothing serious, but the more he powered up, the more the novelty of a bo staff and a semi-cool uniform was slowly wearing off, and eventually it was completely gone. Which was more than a little frustrating for him, but not so much that he thought about it every chance he got. He sought out distractions and ways to make himself feel useful -- and he was still doing his "job" in the end -- but something just felt...lacking. Again.

It'd been a sore spot for him the past couple of weeks, and his frustrations had begun to mount as a result. His footfalls down the empty streets of DC were loud and he put no effort in even trying to be stealthy, his focus on the staff in his hand as he spun it about and walked. Eventually he came to sense someone of Order nearby, and the spinning stopped and he felt his lips turn up into the slightest smile as he replaced the staff across his back and went toward it. It was mere minutes before he finally saw who it was, the puffy outfit nearly a dead giveaway.

"Evenin'," he greeted with a nod of his head, his grin a bit wider as he continued. "I see your outfit's gotten a little puffier since the last time."

Sarras had heard the sound of footsteps approaching and knew that the owner of the Order aura he felt was literally upon him now, but he refused to turn around and acknowledge them. By the feel of it, it was a fellow Squire, which meant he wasn't in any real danger and nor was he even remotely interested. However, when said squire called out to him, he finally turned his head to face him, as it was the familiarity in that voice that caused him to look as opposed to the statement on his attire.

"Oh, it's you... what is it, Tatooine? No, Naboo, right?" Sarras said the names in a very dead pan tone, making it unclear if he was joking around or if he was returning fire to the insults flung at him. He kept a straight face, which was usually kind of a scowl, and the way he approached Ashur could have been taken as a very menacing stance, if one didn't know any better. "Yes, quite poofy... but it's light, which makes my punches fly all the faster. Care to see?"

And yet, there was no fist that stretched to Ashur, but an open hand, and the gesture was clearly defined as one of greeting. He never smiled, but his brows relaxed and his jawline was not quite so tense, subtle signs that he held no anger or malice towards the Uranus squire. "Ashur. Seems you're doing well for yourself since we last met. That's good to see. I was worried you'd be gobbled up by a youma by now."

"Tatooine," he said with a nod and accompanying chuckle, unsure what to make of the fellow Squire's expression or tone of voice. Considering he wasn't being told off like when they first met though, he figured it was safe to assume that Sarras wasn't about to try and sucker punch him. Even with the little threat just before his greeting.

"Sarras. Good to see you still alive and kicking, too." Ash took the offered hand and gave it a solid shake before gesturing to the weapon slung across his back. "They're a little easier to keep at bay now my sticks aren't so useless," he said as his smile widened just a tad. "But I have gotten at least a little better with just my fists."

He took a look around to make sure he knew the area they were in, then pointed past Sarras. "I could always use more practice though. If you're up for Round Two I think there's some kind of park or something up ahead?"

"Tatooine, Krypton..." Sarras was mentally ashamed of himself for even having known those references, though he'd blame Richard for it. It was always easy to blame the sibling for things when they weren't around to try and defend himself, and it was just as likely that he caught on to such geeky sci-fi words and lingo from him anyway when he was on his Netflix binge. Either way, it was all in good fun and it was good to see that Ashur had caught onto that.

Of all the members of his own faction, Ashur was the only one he allowed to crack jokes at his appearance and 'choice' of weapon... an honor, considering how much he wanted to split people's heads open if he so much as thought they were looking at him funny.

It was impossible not to see the weapon slung across Ashur's back when he came in for the handshake, and he couldn't deny the sense of jealousy he felt when looking at it. They may have stayed on the same level of hilarity in regards to their attire, but weapon-wise, Ashur had him beat. Perhaps his magic would greater?

Given his luck thus far, he severely doubted it. "I'm always up for sparring practice. Lead the way, Ash. You been practicing with that stick of yours, or have you come to rely on your magic instead?"

"Sweet!" Ash gave a clap of his hands when Sarras agreed to continue their sparring session, a grin spreading across his face before he started heading for the aforementioned area where they could spar unseen. His mood was significantly lifted now that his night was going on to become more productive than he initially thought it would be, but at the mention of magic it more or less dropped like a rock.

The Squire turned to his fellow knight, confusion scrawled all over his face. "Wait, magic?" he said while walking, his pace a bit faster now. "I don't have any magic, dude. I haven't practiced all that much, but nothing I do with this staff does anything magical."

And then he frowned. "You sure we get magic?"

Part of him had regretted all of this, but it was too late to try and lose the Squire now, he told himself. Not only was Ashur a little too excited, but he seemed just as clueless as ever. Sarras refrained from rolling his eyes and did his best to keep his voice civil, reminding himself that this was an ally and one shouldn't treat their allies too disrespectfully or else there'd be a breakdown of the system. Then he laughed, because it was already a pretty shoddy system to begin with... this wasn't a business, this was a war run by young adults and idiotic adults.

"Of course you do, you just haven't figured it out yet," Sarras said, as they arrived in the secluded area, and he wasted little time with formalities and such. He couldn't feel anyone there, nor could he see anyone, so there was nothing to interrupt them. He set down his useless cup and stood at the ready, fists curled into balls and looking ready to sock someone in the face. And it's be Ashur if he kept this act up. "Fine, we won't mess with magic if you feel inadequate enough to try it. I can tell you, mine probably does two things: jack and s**t. Now come on, let's go."

He reckoned Ashur would go at him with his staff, and that was perfectly fine with him... he figured it'd be good practice to go against a practical weapon, considering the Negaverse carried them. Without warning, he rushed forward, looking to close the distance between them and strike.

Shocker, he wasn't aware of something related to being a knight. "They really should have some kind of manual we can call upon, like a 'help' scroll or something that has a list of general concerns for our type," he snorted. Alas, life. It never was so kind as to come with a guide book of any kind to help you muddle through its various twists and turns.

The squire followed suit and readied himself a few feet away from his sparring partner, a right scowl on his face at the "inadequate" jab. Wouldn't do either of them any good if he jabbed right back, though, so instead he focused on the sparring to be had and reached for his staff just as Sarras rushed at him. Ashur smirked then -- couldn't help it, for some odd reason or another -- and ran toward Sarras, too. He ducked just a few steps short of making contact and swung his weapon in a sweeping motion, hoping it'd knock the other Squire off his feet.

In all honesty, he hadn't had all the best practice with using the staff, but that was why he was glad to fight other human beings for a change -- sparring or actual fights. It needed a bit more strategy than just swinging blindly at a raging mad youma and praying for a hit.

"They have the Code, but a lot of good that thing is," Sarras said with a rather light-hearted and yet still bitter smile. He didn't blame Ashur for his ignorance- it reflected every knight right now, and that was something that needed to be changed, though Sarras was clueless as to how to fix it. Nor did he really care enough. His reasons for being a knight were far different than Ashur's or other knights, and it was, according to them, a petty reason, so what right did Sarras have to try and salvage them? Leave that for the more experienced and 'noble' knights...

Such matters were behind him now, however, and the moment the spar started, it was on. He didn't like to think himself as battle hungry, but it was thrilling, never the less, to engage with someone and taking comfort in knowing that they weren't out to kill you. Unless mistakes were made, but he figured that both of them could have avoided this (or in the very least, the other could run fast enough to get away from the other should it go too far). Despite not knowing how to summon magic, Ashur was definitely decent with that staff of his, as Sarras just barely dodged the swing. Maybe one of his stringy ribbons was hit by it and he could hear the fabric tear, but he hardly cared. ******** this outfit, and whoever designed it, he grumbled to himself.

Because he had to change his projectory, he almost slipped and lost his footing, but he managed to recover. His stance wobbled and he had to take a moment to reorient himself, but he managed, taking another swing at Ashur's left flank. Had to keep him on his toes!

After having fought a handful of battle already, Ash knew that he needed to keep focused. There was more to fighting than just going forward with hit after hit, though if you can then why not. Right then and there, with his footing a bit off having ducked at the last second, the squire it might be better to back off a little. Still, he was mildly impressed that he managed to throw Sarras off-balance even a little bit -- the man had bested him in their last bout and had probably been in plenty more real battles than him.

The fact that Sarras recovered quickly and threw a quick punch didn't surprise him, though his own reaction wasn't quite up to par.

He tried to step away from the hit but couldn't get back enough to lessen the impact all that much. It shocked him some, but it was already familiar. He simply grit his teeth, taking a swing of his own -- staff still in his hand -- at the other's right cheek, and let the pain set in.

Ashur improved since the last time he sparred with him, there was absolutely no doubt about that! On the one hand, Sarras found himself proud of this, even if he couldn't take credit for any of it, it offered him some hope that not all of his fellow knights were ripe for the picking and that there was some hope in surviving the ordeals from either their enemy or even their own. But on the other hand, the sore loser in him and the competitive nature that existed withing the core fiber of his being was annoyed by this. Not that he should have been annoyed- he hadn't lost yet!

The feel of his fist slamming against his opponent was a good feeling- at first. Had he not been off balance, he would have taken the time to plot out his move better and would have known the safe areas to strike with his bare fists, and where he had hit Ashur was definitely one of the no-no spots. The pain that resonated in his hand was surprising, even to him, and he had let out a pained gasp, letting the Uranus knight know that he wasn't the only one in pain. For a brief moment, he feared he had broken his hand, but the fear was short lived when he felt the staff strike him with perfect aim, and he was certain that the sight of him being flung back and skidding along the ground would have been hilarious, but Sarras wasn't laughing.

He wasn't even sure if he was conscious, actually! No, he was conscious, as the pain that throbbed in his hand and face so kindly reminded him of this. "Sh-s**t..."

Ashur wasn't laughing, either. If anything, he was more shocked than amused. Maybe even a little pride, but whatever pride he felt in his staff hitting its mark was quickly gone when Sarras went skidding away, down for longer than he anticipated and apparently out until the expletive left his lips. Ashur approached and knelt over his fellow knight, concern all over his face as he looked the guy over. The squire had a feeling their little sparring match was over, but he didn't feel all that great about it's end given the result. Of course, he would have probably felt differently had he just knocked out a Negaverse agent in the same manner.
