He'd been given and offer he couldn't refuse. Well, he could have but the whole point was that the offer didn't suck and life did. He hated his life and had wanted change. Now, after sleeping god knew how long, Elio had indeed been given a change. Walking down towards what looked to be a less than fabulous place, he sighed, muttering how he should have asked more questions or how this wasn't exactly what he pictured when he signed up. He had invisioned a bit of a more advanced thing. More chrome. Chrome was the stuff of the future right?
Either way being led down to the magical 'cove' Elio wasn't all that impressed thus far with his new life. It was kind of shoddy, with a side of what the hell and 'weird ghosty bull s**t'. Still, he did see some cute girls on his walk so hey, maybe not that bad, he might make due. He'd been told history, (which seemed like a crock of fairy tales they told at those 'fairy mounds' and touristy trap places up in the UK), and he'd been told some rules, (Which seemed like they'd been pulled from a fairly badly written version of Harry Potter), overall however the Italian was just thoroughly unimpressed.
There wasn't even an offer for a snack before they shuffled him off to go do this weird weapon thing they had only vaguely explained and just kind of told him 'oh you'll understand soon enough'. What the hell was that supposed to mean? Like really? The guy was American, so Elio chalked it up to a terrible upbringing and education. Likely the man had never even learned basic units of measurement. Oh right, he hadn't- Feet and not meters. Such an inefficient form of measurement he was going to go insane having to convert everything.
Sighing as he reached the door, Elio didn't hesitate to go down, only pausing when the lights became dim and he needed to wait to just adjust. It was cold. That was his first observation. His second was that he was hearing a voice and the voice was obnoxious.
"Hey, hey buddy. Oh my god stop your pissing and moaning and just get with the program, my voice is angelic- okay not really but I'm damnable close to it." Whoever they were, they were annoying and frankly Elio wanted nothing to do with them. Waving his hand to signal his disinterest to whoever had followed him to try and chat him up he stopped as the voice persisted.
"We're going to play that game then? Oh boy kid, you're in for a treat. You don't get to just brush me off that easily. Well, not without my wanting to be brushed off and let me tell ya, just being able to talk to somebody for once is a pretty nice change. Sleep is pretty darn boring after a while you know? Anyway, how you doing, how's the weather- hey are you ignoring me?"
Elio was, this guy clearly didn't know when to stop- likely American. There were too many Americans here. He hated it already.
"The ******** is an American? I mean I may be a d**k but I don't think whatever an American is so just grab me and let's go like really this isn't exactly rocket science."
"Firstly, you're annoying me sir, second-" there was no second, as whatever Elio was going to say died in his throat. He was alone in the room. Confused, he began to look around for speakers, a camera.
He found none.
"Yeahhhhh... look kid I know you are kind of d**k lord already. I can respect that. You got that vibe going on for you. But look, stop ******** around, grab me, and let's go. We don't got time for this- we have places to be things to do- well you do anyway. I mean- what am I? Well besides stuck I mean." Elio, confused attempted to figure out where this annoying and rather persistant voice of nonsense was coming from.
"OH MAN I DUNNO- YOUR HEAD? I mean I kind of lack a body dipshit." Elio stopped his looking, freezing in place. The ******** was that.
"Thats me. I am the one. God is that me? I assume it's me because I'm glowing and talking to you. Hey- hey buddy. Buddy?" Elio truned, and without even reaching for the tablet began to walk away.
"WOAH WOAH WAIT BUD, BUDDY KID GET BACK HERE YOU CANT JUST LEAVE ME BEHIND. THATS NOT PART OF THIS THING. I KNOW IT ISN'T CUZ I SAW YOUR MIND-"
Elio walked faster to leave. Speaking in his mind? ******** that. He didn't want it. He definitly didn't want it.
"GOD DAMN IT GUY GET BACK HERE AND PICK ME UP."
Elio would.
In a few hours and a beer later.
