Saint Sergio I'm sorry if its a bit short, I've hardly rped him except for the meta and a bit of ooc in the thread. >.< And he doesn't know what to think about all this. Afrim had wandered by this same spot three times already. In truth he wasn't quite sure what to do with himself. He paused and watched as lions went about their normal business that night. It was a community spot in the pride and frequently visited. Despite the situation that had occurred at the coronation, the pride had appeared to settle down.
Now there were whispers and rumors. Almost if felt as there was a growing tension in the air. The young male was confused. The lions had accepted the king the night he was crowned king. Everything had appeared to settle down and go well for the pride. So why now would there be so much unrest? Afrim sighed and tossed his head to throw a lock of his pink mane out of his eyes. He just didn't understand it. Maybe because he'd been so young at the time, and you had to be an adult to truly "get it".

As a huntress, Kim'acha was fairly useless. She could see a lot more when she'd first joined the pride, but since then, her eyes had quickly deteriorated into her only seeing smears of color here and there. Taking a deep breath, the yellow lioness settled into the community spot and curled her tail around her paws, letting the tip flick this way and that. She had to talk to someone about finding a rank more suited for her. The rumors and whispers did catch her ears, and Kim'acha had formed her own opinion about the king. She didn't like it. She didn't like what she'd heard about their new king, but she wouldn't speak her mind. She was going to try to stay out of pridal politics because she didn't understand them. The yellow lioness was the first do admit she was ignorant about positions of powers. A flash of pink caught her attention. Someone was here. Her head tilted a little and Kim just moved forward a little. "Hello." She was trying to not let on about her condition. Her mom and dad knew about it, but that was pretty much it.

Subconsciously, he'd noted the bright yellow lioness. How could he not! Afrim was polite enough not to intrude upon anyone, but when she moved and spoke up he felt comfortable going over. He threw a grin at her as he approached a bit closer.
"Good evening. How are you tonight? I'm Afrim, I don't believe we've met before." Not knowing her he stopped a short distance away. He was determined not to let his own worries interfere if they didn't have to. So he put on a cheerful face and spoke with a happy tone.

She just looked as this mass of color came towards her and Kim'acha just offered a soft smile. These kinds of interactions weren't bad if all they were doing is talking. The tip of her tail flicked a bit more and she just gave a little shrug. "I suppose I'm rather elusive, but I am Kim'acha." There was a laugh from her before she stretched her paws out before her, digging into the ground before sighing again. "I'm usually found hunting." Or attempting to hunt, anyway.

"I'm sorry to hear that." He wondered what caused her to be so elusive. "If there's something I can do to help let me know." It was the best he could offer right now. Afrim nodded sheepishly. "I probably should be out hunting too." He sat down and glanced around.
"I guess I didn't feel like hunting much today. Would you care for some company instead?"

Company? Kim just nodded a little, white tuft of fur fall into her face and she just blew it out again. "Ah, it's not really something anyone can fix, but it's alright. I appreciate the offer." She grinned at him before relaxing completely. He didn't seem to pry. "I haven't had much company since I got here, so I would like some, yes. I mean, aside from taking care of my half siblings and going back and forth between talking to mom and dad.." There was so much tension in her family, between littermates, her mom, and dad. Sometimes she wondered why they'd even met up in the first place. Then again, Kim never bothered to ask.

"Well in case you ever change your mind, the offer is still open," he responded cheerfully. "Oh I'm Afrim by the way! It's a pleasure to meet you Kim'acha." He dipped his head awkwardly for his momentary lack of manners. The male give a soft laugh, giggle almost.
"You have siblings too? My two sisters walk all over me," he let out a long suffering sigh, clearly playing for sympathy. "It's alright though, I let them. I am their only brother after all." Afrim tilted his head.
"There's a lot of tension in the pride right now," his words came slowly as if with much thought. "Like there's something only grownups can understand. Oh! I mean I'm a grown up too, but it all started when I was young. So I don't really quite understand everything." He laid his ears back as he realized he'd betrayed how young he was, and perhaps how naive.

"I've... got a few siblings. My mother had a litter.. at least one here? Her name is Mawu.. My father.. he recently had a litter.. I think of eight, so.. I've got half siblings as well as litter mates running about." She seemed to perk up and deflate while talking about her family and how broken it really was. Both her mom and dad had new mates and new siblings and in a way she did feel pushed to the side. She wouldn't ever say this out loud, but she couldn't help her feelings. "I've... noticed the tension." It wasn't a lie. She let her paws twitch as she shifted her weight and then gave a little laugh at his next words. "Mmn.. You're an adult but not.. an old adult? I understand.." She used to be a young adult too. When she had her first litter she was a young adult. Now she didn't know where any of her own cubs were. "..Every pride has it's tension. The pride I was in before separated males and females.. .then the females were categorized by the color pelts they had so it was.. very high tensioned."

He adored his sisters and would do anything for them. His ears perked up to hear she had siblings. A lot of them in fact. In a way he was jealous, but he wouldn't exchange his siblings for anything.
"Do you get to see and talk to them? It sounds like you have so many to keep track of." He wondered about her demeanor, how it seemed to shift. Both happy and sad.
He ducked his head in embarrassment, but happy that she understood what he meant. Afrim gave his head a tiny shake. "Maybe, but this isn't usual for us. Normally its a very pleasant place to live. Now it feels like we're always being watched by the Royal Guards and the king." His eyes were a bit wide as he spoke. "Really? Why were you separated by pelt color?"

"I... don't. Not on my father's side," Kim'acha admitted, ears pinning backwards as she cleared her throat. "..We're not on the best of terms... It's... a long story that isn't good upon first meetings?" The yellow lioness prayed to the gods that that would quell his interest in that particular topic. She wasn't too thrilled with her dad, but she as slowly coming around. Slowly being the word there, like waves chipping away at a rock. It would happen eventually, but until then she made herself sparse. "I don't remember why, honestly. I don't.. think I ever asked. I know my yellow pelt had me a higher rank than my sisters, and they got jealous of me. One... One struck out at me and chased me out of the pride." Well, she hadn't been expecting the sting that came along with her words in the slightest bit. The bitter feelings bubbled in her chest and Kim'acha just took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. "I haven't seen many of my littermates in a long time."

"Oh. I don't know if I could handle not being around my sisters." It was a horrible thought, and he felt sorry for the lioness. What was life without family? "I'm sorry to hear that things aren't good for you with your family." Afrim nodded with understanding.
He let the discussion shift away from family. It was hard for him to imagine siblings driving another away. Clearly he led a charmed life here, which made him more grateful he had the family he did. "I'll be your friend if you like." She sounded like she needed more friends.
Afrim shook his head. "Well hopefully you'll never have to deal with that here. I mean there's the classes and all, but there's no pelt regulations." He frowned a moment. The king wouldn't go that far would it? There was all sorts of colors in every class.
