Ruqayqa had been actively taking part in a group study, discussion, and meditation. She hadn’t anticipated how long the activities would go. She had been quite enjoying herself, debate was civil, the discussion was open, and overall the group was a successful endeavor. However, as everything wore on, her abilities began presenting her with flashes and snippets of her fellow group members’ pasts, as recent as a day or so, as far back as their youth. At first it hadn’t been that bad, but the longer the group session wore on, the more intense her visions got, and with intensity brought a raging headache. Politely excusing herself, the Knight went off to find a relatively secluded place for her mind to quiet.
Following along the river, she found a large, smooth, relatively flat rock and lay down. Curling one of her mehndi marked paws over her face, Ru took slow, deep breaths, quieting her mind, and trying to will the ache in her skull away. She closed her eyes and blew out a sigh. Ow. Ow. Ooow. She emptied her mind of thoughts and focused more fully on the burbling flow of the river. Curling her tail around her feet, she shifted to be half laying on her side.
