Ok guys, this thread was suggested in the suggestions, and I figured it didn't really matter who made it, so I decided to chuck it together now.

In this thread, if you are new to the ball and have any Questions about how the ball runs or how to get involved, you can ask your questions here. We veterans understand that some of you new comers may be feeling nervous, and we would like to make you feel as comfortable as possible by answering any worries you may have. If you require a helping hand or are just feeling in over your head, we'll be happy to give you out guidance.

Let's work together to make another fun and exciting ball in 2015.

Yeah, I meant for the ball for the Q&A too...but there was mention about one for veterans to help the newbies in the suggestions too, so thought we might as well make it now smile

I'll have you know I'm scared to
death...
...that everything that you had said to me was just...

...a lie until you left.

I'm a semi-noob. I was only sort of involved with the ball last year, and I was very much involved this year. And as it was so much fun, I'd love to be a character in one of the threads. Exactly how would I go about doing that?

Well right now things are just starting to be set up for next years ball. First the main ball host steps down and announces a new ball host, then they pick a Secondary ball host. After that Applications for room hosts and secondary room hosts are made. Those get decided upon and chosen. Then the room hosts and secondary room hosts hold applications for Co-hosts. Once those are filled, Official role players are decided. Easch one of those roles play specific characters in their rooms.

So if you are interested, once applications are out you can apply for:
-Room Host
-Co-Host
-Room Role player.

I'm guessing the room role player has the least ball-related responsibilities of the three?

You would be correct. They play a role within the room for the ball.

Co-hosts on the other hand help with contests and whatever the host needs help with, as well as play a role withing the room.

Hosts and Secondaries create the room, get the art, create the contests, form the room plot, run the contests and pretty much build the room for the ball. As well as play a role in the room.

So really, It's up to you to decide how much work you want to do for the ball.

I would opt for being a host, but as I'm new I don't to get in over my head. So instead I think I'll go with a room roleplayer. That way I'm still technically a part of it, I get to RP a character, and I get experience to try doing something more in future balls.

I wouldn't sell yourself short so soon. There have been a number of first year helpers that ended up being room hosts, either by applying or something else. Their rooms have been good as well. If your application is good, you could do it. You just have to be willing to put in the work.

Heya everyone ~

I'm also totally interested in helping out this year as well, and I'm sort of interested in the room roleplayer position. Are there any specific qualifications you have to meet? ^.^

Nothing specific. As long as you are dependable, and can play your role you should be fine.

the qualifications are normally decided by the room host and secondary, its normally just what previous roleplays youve been in or an example ( from what I saw your fine, you roleplay well and we often take people with little to no experience)

Exactly how much work would that be?

In my experience, it can be broken down like this:

Host and Secondary

-Select co-hosts
-Create room plot
-Find and order art
-Find and order room graphics
-Create contests
-Create room
-Set everything up in all the right places
-Role Play

In addition to that you also have to deal with problems in every step, solve conflicts, answer pm's, and stay in contact with the main host and other rooms. Plus other stuff as well that i'm probably forgettnig.

Co-Hosts

-Help create contests
-Have input on the plot
-Run contests
-Role play

And other stuff i'm forgetting as well.

Room Role players

-Pick a role
-Roleplay, moving the story along while the Hosts and co hosts are busy.

That's pretty much how it goes. Things always change though, and I may be wrong at certain things.
