August was a terrible hellhole of a month, thought Megiddo, wiping sweat from her brow. She brushed a few limp strands of hair back from her face and scowled. Nine months of the year, her uniform was fine, but summer - summer was terrible, and it just kept getting worse. She'd gone through all the trouble of dragging her a** out here tonight, instead of spending it in the air conditioned comforts of home picking fights on Tumblr, and for that Megiddo thought she deserved an award. Or, like, a fancy drink? Or at least, she wanted to beat someone up really badly and make them regret also hauling themselves out on this muggiest of summer nights. That seemed reasonable! Expanding her senses, Megiddo felt the roiling aura of a corrupt senshi. Brilliant, she thought to herself. What a rare prize! If she could bag a kill that powerful, well, Gunn would have to notice! Maybe she'd even be proud. Megiddo made her approach quickly, running on light feet towards the source of the aura. Her fingers tightened around the neck of her pitcher, and she grinned to herself. "Come out, come out, senshi!" she called, slowing to a quiet walk. "I feel you! I want to play!"

Haumea had literally just finished powering up when he felt an Order aura nearby and heard the voice calling out to him. The words themselves were harmless, but something about them made his skin twitch. Words like that usually more meant, "Hey, stand still so I may pound your face into the dirt."
Not terribly encouraging.
Still, in this heat he was willing to make careful overtures of friendliness. His fuku might be nice and breezy, but his hair was a heavy weight. And in this humidity, it seemed intent on frizzing and clinging to his already clammy skin.
"Define play, it you don't mind," he called back.

Megiddo grinned as the senshi revealed his position, and she crept quietly towards the sound of his voice. "We fight," she called pleasantly. "Honorable combat. Possibly to the death. I pound your face in. Doesn't that sound like fun, ickle senshi?" Damn, if it didn't feel ever so good to be a creep. Megiddo brushed a finger over her signet ring, silencing her movements, and continued to advance. "Come on," she said, in what she imagined to be a very creepy tone of voice. "Let's fight. Or are you scared? Are you shaking in your boots? I'm only a squire. You could take me. Bring my starseed back to whichever General holds your leash." She grinned, thinking of a particularly witty barb (or, in opinion it was witty). "Maybe they'll give you a milkbone for your trouble." It was hot out. It was sticky. If she was going to fight, she wanted it to be worthwhile. She wanted to goad him. She wanted him fierce. It would be more fun that way.

Oh goodie. A crazy lady. Really, this was fantastic. Stifling a sigh, he tried to gauge hwere she was by her voice, giving up after a few moments when he realized that he really wasn't very good at that sort of thing. He far preferred the direct and obvious approaches.
"Nope," he answered in a calm sounding voice. "Doesn't sound fun at all. Sounds messy."
Turning his head this way and that, Haumea thought that he might have a bead on her location. Though he wasn't at all sure what was going on with her voice.
"Lady, that would require me having boots to shake in. Which I don't. And seriously? You need a cough drop or something? You have some serious frog-in-throat s**t going on there."
He chose to ignore the milkbone remark and instead crouched down a little. Maybe if he made himself small enough he'd have a few more seconds to keep his face intact. It was worth a shot.

Frog in her throat? Megiddo scowled. Clearly, she'd ******** something up somewhere - but it wasn't like she wanted to change now and give him that victory. Complete silence might be scarier, anyway, Megiddo decided and shut up. He was close, she thought determinedly. She could feel his dark aura washing over her in waves. Close. Closer-- Bingo. Silently, Megiddo advanced through the shadows until she was poised just behind the crouching senshi. He was- He was pretty, goodness. It would be a shame to kill him. Maybe she'd take his hair and make a vest out of it. She'd seen that in a movie recently and thought it would be a suitable trophy. Megiddo reached out and grabbed a hank of the senshi's bright pink hair and pulled hard. "Boo!" she shouted.

Frowning in the silence, Haumea wondered if whoever it was had given up and gone away. He shrugged to himself, deciding that the crazy, hoarse chick had left and began to stand up.
Only to have his hair yanked hard enough to pull him off balance. And now he was being shouted at too. What was even the hell?
"Ah, you crazy ********, what the hell?" he hissed as both hands flew to his head, wanting to make sure he hadn't been scalped. Dammit, that had hurt!
Glaring up and back at the girl? Woman? who'd attacked him, he found himself wishing for magic that could have sent her falling on her a**.
"Are you crazy? Is that your problem?"

"Maybe," grinned Megiddo, enjoying herself entirely too much. She have his hair another sharp yank, trying to drag him away from the wall. "But you're corrupt and that's a much bigger problem." She was going to kill him, she thought triumphantly. He was a pansy-a** who'd never been taught how to fight and she'd finish him off! Megiddo released his hair and brushed her fingers over her ring again, vanishing the shadowy cloak that had dampened her movements. She called her pitcher to hand, and wrapped her fingers around the neck so she could use it like a bludgeon. "Should I kill you slowly?" she asked, hefting the weapon. "Or should I make this quick?" Crazy? Definitely. Megiddo swung the pitcher, aiming for the senshi's head. She didn't care that he wasn't fighting back. Gunn never showed any mercy, and neither would she!

Oh this was just great. Most of the people Haumea had met had been willing enough to talk or at least not kill him straight off. It appeared Senorita Psychopath was not one of them. Grunting as he was yanked back again, the senshi of plumeria scrabbled his hands along the ground, trying to get soem leverage against his tormentor. Instead, want he got was a very nice rock.
Grabbing it, he couldn't help the sigh of relief that escaped his mouth when she finally let go of him. Grimacing, he sat there semi-dazed for a moment, watching as she called a pitcher out of the air. Listened with growing shock as she talked so cheerfully about killing him.
When she swung the pitcher at his head, he was already trying to skitter out of the way. The blow meant for his skull caught his shoulder instead and he felt something inside snap in a way he didn't like at all. Gritting his teeth, he flung himself around on the ground and threw the rock he'd picked up at her with all the force he could under the circumstances.
And once it was thrown, he was scrabbling again, trying to get to his feet so he could face her properly.
"You call this honorable? Lady, you got issues."

Megiddo ought not have gloated quite so much, because the palm-sized piece of rock totally came out of nowhere and clocked her on the cheek. The squire saw stars, and when she raised one of her gloved hands to prod her cheekbone (it mercifully did not feel broken), the white cotton came away very bloody indeed. Oh, ******** no, she thought. She was going to drive him into the ******** ground for that. "It would have been honorable from the start if you weren't so ******** cowardly," she snarled, circling him as he tried to regain his balance. "I thought the Negaverse taught all its little slaves to stand and fight. Are you just defective?" A smile flitted across her face. "Because in that case, killing you will be a mercy to Order, to you, and to them." She ran at him again, pitcher raised high above her head.

Seriously? She'd just had her cheek cut by a flung rock and she was still coming at him? Holy Monkey Jesus, Order people were insane.
"Right, because it is sooooo honorable to sneak up on people and cackle like a ******** 1920s serial villain about how you're gonna kill 'em," he muttered.
But this time, as she charged him with her crazy pitcher in hand, he was a little better prepared. He could see her for one thing. Bracing himself against the ground, he waited for her to get close enough and kicked out with both feet, aiming for her gut and hoping that her momentum combined with his kick would send her falling back too hurt to move or even better, flying over his head and then crashing and not moving.
Really, he was good either way as long as he could use the precious seconds the kick could give him to get the hell away.

He was just going to lie down and die! After all the horror stories she'd heard, taking down a corrupt senshi was going to be so easy! Megiddo grinned to herself as she closed the space between them, wait, what was he doing with his legs-- --WHUMPH!Swearing loudly, Megiddo tumbled backwards, her a** skidding against the pavement. The squire flopped over, the wind knocked out of her. Her pitcher clattered to the ground somewhere past her head. "********," she gasped, struggling to sit back up. "******** ******** ********." This was stupid. This was so incredibly stupid. She was officially ******** over this, she thought, rolling slowly onto her stomach.

Okay, so she hadn't been knocked out. That was disappointing (and terrifying). But he had those precious few seconds now and he took full advantage of them.
Leaping to his feet he raced like hell in the opposite direction of where she lay. Once he was sure he was far enough away, he'd power down. He had no desire to stay henshin'd up so some insane b***h could try to murder him where he stood.
After a few more minutes, he figured it was safe enough to power down. There were random civilians out that he could blend into just in case she was following his aura.
Concentrating, he allowed his magic to disperse, feeling himself changing from Haumea to Kekipi. And once the change was over, he slipped into a small know of people walking by.

Slowly and with great effort, Megiddo forced herself to her feet. The Chaos aura was long gone - doubtless the coward had gone to ground in his civilian form, and she'd never find him now. She groaned. What a ******** waste of a night. Blood trickled down her cheek, and Megiddo raised her hand to it again. Gosh, she thought, looking at her fingers. That's a lot of blood. She'd make Nick fix it up. Releasing her hold on her henshin, Keren staggered away.
