The Negaverse was everywhere. Newgrange should have known better than to power up at all, but with all that was going on…he hadn't exactly been thinking clearly.

Which was how he got into all this mess.

Currently, the knight was running across rooftops, trying to avoid the General hot on his trail; he needed to power down and ditch his energy signature but couldn't risk the General discovering his identity.

So instead, he ran.

And so far, so good. Except he was bruised and tired and running out of rooftops.

He just needed to reach somewhere that he recognized—and then he could disappear into some hidden spot, power down…

The General behind him fired another bolt from his weapon, and while the first didn't hit Newgrange, the second pierced his arm. It hurt, but it wasn't immense pain. It was still just enough to surprise him when he was making the next leap; he misstepped.

What could have been a totally safe jump wound up near to catastrophic; without the proper footing he'd needed to make a good jump, he wound up plummeting to the ground. If Newgrange had been a normal civilian, he might have suffered great damage. Instead, he got off easy by crashing into a stack of soft, comfortable wood pallets.

Only, they were neither soft, nor comfortable, and in addition to having the breath knocked right out of him, his vision was spinning and pain flushed through him.

Aaaaand, tonight wasn't going so well.
