Noemi felt really bad for asking Oliver to do all these things for her. He had been her practice medical patient more then once, her best friend to take everywhere and now she was asking him to allow her to spar with him.
Mostly she wanted to see if she was much stronger, and if she needed to work on her fighting or offensive skills.
So she asked the young lifer to meet her on the field with her hands laced together.

Despite all the trouble the two of them had gotten into, Oliver could still never refuse a request from Noemi. She was the first person he had met in his new life that hadn't scared him, and even now he wasn't really afraid to go spar with her. There had been news of her promotion which put him on par with some of his more fearsome opponents, but he couldn't really feel afraid like he did at the thought of facing someone like Finn. "Ah, Noemi!" He called, arriving on the field and offering her a wave. The young teen smiled as he approached. "Congratulations, on your promotion," he said shyly, "that's really wonderful."

You could almost say Oliver and Noemi were meant to get in trouble. They attracted trouble. Like moths to the flame. Also Noemi wasn't terrified of the boy, because they just...clicked well. Both of them were scared of things together. It was good.
It was a good best friend kind of thing. Along with Shu, Noemi had a equal balance of the two.
"Th..Thank you!" She waved back. For a moment she just stared at him...Then she stuck out her hand. She would like to hug him like she did with Shu, but she wasn't sure...and he was a boy. So he got a handshake greeting.
"It really is! It means I can do more things." She nodded sagely, "But...it also means more dangerous missions..." She laced her hands again, twiddling the fingers. "So...SO i guess I will just have to be...braver..."
Anyways, she stepped back, summoning her trident. "I...I'll be attacking okay? So...so if it hurts, please tell me to stop and I will."

Since she assumed it was okay, she swung the blue trident forward, right after he summoned his weapon.

Oliver squeaked and backpedalled fast, but it wasn't enough to avoid the trident. Was this the first time he had seen Noemi's weapon? It seemed well-fitted, light and nimble. Not like his own heavy axe. He swung his own weapon around, only beginning to gain momentum with a wide, horizontal slash. HP: 35/40 DMG: 2 Charge: 1/3

Noemi blinked as he moved back, his large axe coming out to swipe at her. Unlike Oliver, she knew of his weapon because of their sun course and when she had watched him decimate through the shadowlings!
Though he moved away, she moved closer, swiping her trident at him again.

She was fast! Oliver didn't have time to block or anything, it was all he could do to take the blow without letting it disrupt the swing of his axe. But he was getting good at using the momentum of his own body against the momentum of the heavy weapon. Simply being knocked back a step by Noemi's attack brought the axe swinging around faster than before. If he could manage to hit her before she could dodge... HP: 26/40 DMG: 5 Charge: 2/3

Noemi was learning that Oliver was a good battler. Not because he hit her, but because he didn't let her attack stop him from his swing, causing her to take the full brunt of his attack in tandem.
She fell back a little, looking at him with wide eyes before laughing.
"Ah that was scary! But you are really good! Is it hard to swing with Axe?"

Oliver seemed to answer that question without words, as the momentum of the axe swing nearly pulled him off his feet. The teen began to blush. "I-it's, um... really heavy, a-and I'm not that good yet!" He protested, finally pulling the blade back into a ready stance. There was not enough time to get in another attack, so he was partially relieved Noemi had not taken opportunity of his opening. "Sometimes... I don't know which one of us is doing the swinging..." He added, smiling to himself at the thought of how much the weapon pulled him around. The gentle humour was not something Oliver could often indulge in, but a smile here and there couldn't hurt. Especially when it was with Noemi. HP: 26/40 DMG: 0 Charge: 2/3

She blinked at him and then laughed.
"Oh! that's a joke! Very funny! I bet your weapon must think the same too? Mel's really nice. Ah Mel's my weapons name, she's a mermaid." The mermaid in question preened a bit. "And very kind. She helps me calm down..."
As such, Mel reminded her that it was her turn to attack, so the mist huntress rushed forward, swiping at Oliver with her trident.

"Ouch! Ah, Jökul is pretty quiet most of the time, it's like he's sleeping, but I know he's watching when I don't hear him... It's like he's, uh..." Came the rumbling voice.
"Lurking! He's some sort of leviathan, but... not a water one, I don't think," Oliver smiled, his enthusiasm giving the axe a little extra slashing power... "Oops, s-sorry!" The poor boy looked a little aghast when the weapon actually hit with some force. He was a true Canadian, apologizing for doing a good job for once.

"Lurking!" She blinked and then shook her head, "that's so odd! Mel doesn't talk so much but...You know she talks still." She blinked again, "What is a Leviathan?" His hit, hit hard and made her stumble, her eyes widening.
"N..No it's okay! I'm okay. That was good!" She returned it with a hit of her own, swinging at his side.

Oliver winced again as the tines of the trident cut across his side, but he didn't let the axe slow down. Noemi had really gotten stronger, it reminded the Life trainee of when he had fought Finn. Except Finn was ruthless and terrifying. "It's ah... Like a giant serpent, sort of... or a lizard!" He winced slightly, feeling the pain from the last blow in the muscles over his ribs. "A lizard that is very large, and swims, like a whale maybe? Or a shark?" Oliver had never been asked something like that before, and he found it hard to put the concept into words. Jökul didn't chime in with any helpful tidbits this time around, it seemed the weapon was amused enough to let it's hunter stumble around. He shifted his weight, moving into a slash, but his side pained him enough that his grip on the weapon slipped. Luckily the momentum wasn't lost, but his attack swung too wide to be of any use. HP: 14/40 DMG: 0 Charge: 3/3

She saw his wince, and felt bad. She didn't know how much of his fear shield was left, as hers was still well balanced and debated on using Mel's fear charge on him. Get him healed up if she could!
"Oh, Maybe he'd like Melusine! Especially if he likes to swim and stuff? I hear there is golem things? That can let you walk around with them." With his wide swing, Noemi slipped under the axe, drawing in closer to the life hunter and using full force of her swing aimed at his legs, to knock him off his feet.
