Megrez had been feeling a little bored during this bout of patrolling. Nothing in particular had shown up that merited attention. To remedy the boredom, she began dancing from rooftop to rooftop, making the most graceful leaps she could and sometimes throwing a spin in for effect. After a little while, she even began to sing. If that didn't attract something (even if said something was just a youma), she didn't know what would.

It seemed that her trick worked; she felt a high-level Order aura approaching. Who would she meet today?

While senshi goofing off was nothing new, it wasn't something he particularly condoned, especially given the state affairs within the city and the fact that well- he was poised to start a blood bath.

Picking up on a newer, weaker senshi via his phone, Castor made his way over, jumping to the dancing girl with a slightly confused look. "....Is this a new tactic they're teaching? Look silly and vulnerable so we can target them easier?"
He was genuinely concerned if that was the case.

"Huh? AH!"

Megrez was caught off guard even with feeling the Order aura approaching. She stopped dead in her tracks, blushing out of sheer embarrassment. Hiding her hands behind her back, she replied, "Um, no, haha, that's definitely not something I've been taught... but it makes things come to you, so it's good for something if you're prepared for something nasty coming up." It made perfect sense to her! If a youma or a Negaverse officer came along, she could stop and pummel them and move on. Using herself as bait might not be the best tactic, however. "Hey, I haven't seen you around before. You're obviously not a new senshi, so... who are you?" She could have done a smoother introduction, but she was still mired in an awkward feeling from the way things started.

He was guessing that she was just not paying much mind then. Still dangerous. "I was able to get this close and you weren't doing anything to stop me. Let alone question. I would recommend you not resort to such a tactic unless you have an ally or are very very purposely luring, are 100-% focused on your surroundings, and have the power to back up your risky behavior."

His tone wasn't one of anger but rather mild concern.

"Castor, Prince of hail. You wouldn't know me given I've been gone for a few years. And you?" He leaned on an old chimney. "I know it's not music at least."

"Okay, okay, I got it... I'll be more careful. I just thought I'd have a little fun, and I could take whatever snuck up on me..." Yeah, Megrez was being scolded a bit, and she probably deserved it. Her tendency to not think before she acted resulted in her doing silly things at times. The comment about her sphere not being music, though... "Hey! I'll have you know that I'm- you know what, never mind." She wanted to mention that she was part of Meadowview's choir, but that might be disclosing too much too soon. For once in her life, she thought and was actually able to stop something from leaving her mouth. "A-anyway... I'm Megrez, Super Senshi of Eggs. Nice to meet you, Castor. Wait, did you say you were a Prince? Like a royal senshi?" She had seen some royal senshi in action (on both the Order and Dark Mirror sides, in fact), but having one actually talk to her? This could make things very interesting.

"Not to be an a** but-" words that often prelude a** like words, "-we don't have time for fun." Said the senshi who'd once gone drinking with a negaverse agent and had a T tattooed on his a** to show for it. "You need to be hunting and destroying forces and seeds of chaos. The fun can come when we've won this war."

Which would be never. No point is saying that though.

"Nice to meet you Magrez of Eggs. Interesting power- though not the oddest I've heard." He shrugged, smiling when she asked if he was indeed, royal. "And yes. Prince Castor. Royalty, though not of the white moon's court. My treaty with them has been dissolved for quite some time now."

Megrez shrugged. "That's right. That's not really an a**-y thing to say. It's true, I really do need to work a little harder to hunt down Chaotic forces." Youma were no problem, of course, but actual Negaverse agents... ever since that fateful day when she stabbed that lieutenant, she had found herself unable to do much more than rough up officers she found. Of course, she would never get in the way of someone who actually had the strength of will to kill an enemy, and sometimes egging an enemy was entertaining. It always seemed a bit weird to her that nearly everyone she had told about the kill assumed she would do it again, and with all this support she was getting, she actually might. Maybe.

"Yeah! The eggs are actually pretty handy for attacking from a distance. The big ones I got with my Super upgrade get goop everywhere, and it's kind of funny to see rookie lieutenants squirm when they get messy." Of course, there were more pressing matters at hand than the numerous uses Megrez's eggs had. "Not of the White Moon's court? That's interesting. I know someone who claims to be an Order senshi who doesn't associate with the White Moon, so I'm guessing it's like that. So, instead of any sort of White Moon... thing, you just fight for the cause of Order?"

Castor smirked as she seemed to not be offended by his words. That was a always a plus. "I'll trust you as far as goop goes. Getting bloody is bad enough, no need to get egg on my face." He smiled at his own terrible joke.

He was considering the senshi for a while, noting the poofing pants. First normal shorts now poof pants. Cosmos certain had a way with design. "But goop doesn't do much aside from hinder. I hope you use those opportunities wisely?" He left it open. Did she flee did she fight, did she kill? "After all, slowing them down doesn't stop them. Not permanently at least." And there was the implication of his thoughts.

"I am Castor, once the head of the Castorian empire, though that lifetime ended a long while back." Along with many other things. "I fight to destroy chaos. It's as simple as that. If you stand in my way you become an enemy, if you aid me, you become an ally. Soon enough, I'll be enforcing that policy. Maybe get some of the spineless senshi to actually think about what and who they're fighting for and against." A bite laced his words as he stared down at Megrez. "That does beg the question- why do you fight?"

"Um, well..." Did she use those opportunities wisely? That was a very tough question. When an answer came to her, she sighed. "No... probably not. I probably haven't used them wisely at all. It's just... I can't bring myself to do anything too devastating to them. I just rough them up and let them go." When Castor continued, she nodded along, feeling both a bit ashamed and also like she was getting a better understanding of his meaning. The shame came from the fact that, basically, she was doing a shoddy job of being a senshi. Bruising Chaos was not stopping Chaos. "I know a lot of people who would agree with you," she said regarding his proclamation of his aims. "Believe me, I have no intention of getting in the way of anyone who's actually capable of destroying Chaos. One of my friends... when we first met, the first thing she did was kill a lieutenant right in front of me. I helped, but she did the finishing blow." She was hoping she wasn't part of the "spineless senshi" Castor mentioned, but right now she was feeling like she definitely was.

Then the Prince asked a question that struck right to Megrez's core. "Why do I fight...?" At first, it felt like there was an empty space in her head where an answer should have been. Then, answers floated in: Because my friends fight, too. Because Chaos is bad and hurts people. Because I want to protect the world? "All my answers are so stupid," she murmured, looking down and away. None of those ideas rang 100% true for her... at least, until she remembered something very important. "Wait. I know now. I fight because I must, and because there's no turning back for me. I need to explain something... a few months ago, I killed a lieutenant. Ever since then, I haven't been able to even think about killing anyone else. Like I said, I won't get in the way of people who can do it, but... I can't do it. Not right now." She paused, gathering the rest of her thoughts. "After I killed him, I realized that I had decisively entered the war. I could never pretend it didn't happen. There was no going back for me, and so... I just had to keep fighting. And so I will. Even if I can't do anything permanent, I will help those who can."

The more Castor listened the angrier he felt. No so much with her, but with the senshi, with what they had become. That even after so long, there was so little. It was like they had been deprived of the one thing they represented. Order. "First off." He cracked his fingers, one by one. "You have to learn to stomach killing. Helping kill is fine, but on your own-letting them go will not stop them. It won't teach them a lesson. Most of them enjoy what they do. They willingly are killing their own people blinded by a cause that will ultimately cost them everything."

He wished that talking was an option, but that wasn't the case, not anymore.

"...." A deep breath he considered it. "Have you ever been to your home world? You real home?" His head tilted up, as if he could see past the harsh lights of the city into the stars themselves. "Have you ever dreamed of the past? Lived a life that ended years ago?" Looking her in the eyes, he let her see what had died in him, what he remembered. "Have you seen the results of a genocide?"

He doubted it.

"Chaos killed worlds. It killed my people. You say you must- That doesn't have a reason, just an poor excuse." Tongue clicked, clearly not pleased with her answer. "Go home. Look at your world. Look at what is left of it. Think of those who died, the ones who you can't even remember; those ones who would have trusted you, placed their lives in your hands- you were once a senshi, you were a symbol of something greater. Senshi carry the heart of their worlds inside of them and they killed us. You say you must fight but not why. You never chose to enter a war?" Bitterness and anger laced his tone. "No-You've just been reborn into it."

Ice was at the tips of his hair, around him, the air chilled. "....I am sorry." It was a shift. "I don't..." He clicked his tongue again trying to find the words. "I remember more than many. Down to the very last breath I took. This body, this life, might be different, but my memories are the same. Chaos took everything from me. And now it does so again, on earth. You want a real reason to fight- Fight to save a world from ending. Fight because if we do not earth's future will end." The thought of it hurt. "And the last hope we have to restore what was taken from us will be lost with it."

"That's right," Megrez said softly, feeling incredibly foolish, like she had lost sight of everything she was supposed to do and be. "Yes, I have been to my own world. I've..." She wanted to be defensive about Castor implying she'd never been there before, but as he went on, that feeling faded and she just felt even more terrible than before. "I... I haven't seen much of my home world or my past life yet. I've only been there twice, and really, I've only seen happy things. People welcoming me to a village, meeting the local creatures, going shopping, cooking, one political discussion..." The list wasn't necessary, she realized too late. She was in way over her head with this guy, but what was she expecting? She was just a freshly-upgraded Super, and he was a Prince. Of course he would have more experience and know more about the true face of the war that she would.

"That's right," Megrez said yet again. "I wanted to say I fought to protect the world, but I thought it was silly and vague." Not as silly as she felt at this moment, thinking that her story would justify anything. "I guess my picture of the war just... isn't as clear as I thought. I'm sorry." How stupid could she have been, missing these aspects of the war that seemed so obvious? Every time she thought she had gotten a grasp of what she had been thrust into, the situation just grew in magnitude, like some kind of inverse stacking doll where the bigger dolls somehow hid inside the smaller ones. She wasn't just in the middle of something "big"- she was in the middle of something so expansive that it was almost beyond her ability to cope. "I have to understand all this and take it in, but... it's really overwhelming." She hoped that didn't sound whiny, but it probably did.

He wanted to hit her. Part of his anger was at his own feelings, another, at the fact that he felt like he'd failed her. Failed senshi. She shouldn't be sorry. She should just feel... well he thought she ought to feel something other than 'sorry'.

"Look." He held out his hand. "Go home. Take some gear for a trip. Stay a day or two. Try to connect with your world. Look for answers, look for your past." His hand glowed, his crystal briefly forming before vanishing. "We have different pasts, but the thing is our worlds lost us, they lost us and our people suffered, they died. Now it's happening again- and if we fail there is no certainty we'll come back again to fix it. If we could come back at all. If you think you can't kill? Think harder. You are a senshi. You were born to fight. You were born to fight and destroy chaos. That means you will have to kill. Go home. Go home and think about it." A step away.

"You told me why you fight. But not for who. When you have that answer? Call me."

Megrez wanted to protest the logistics of staying on her planet for more than one day, especially with school starting up again soon, but decided against it. She was not going to argue with this man. She would talk about a weekend camping trip and slip out, even if her parents tried to stop her (not that they had ever been very successful at stopping her from her nightly patrols, even in the beginning). Her eyes went wide when she saw the crystal that was the mark of Castor's prince power, but she resumed eye contact after it disappeared. "Yes," she said. "I will go home, and I'll try to find out as much as I can."

When Castor stepped away, Megrez wanted to say "who" she was fighting for: her family, her friends. It seemed that Castor was looking for a very specific "who," however, and she didn't think he would be satisfied till he got that answer out of her. "Wait. If you want me to call you, can I add you to my phone?" she said as she summoned up her phone. Maybe she had taken the statement a bit too literally, but she figured that it couldn't hurt to ask.

Castor smirked and pulled her phone from her hands, quickly adding his own number. Once his number was added- "I am also open to more personal calls if need be." He winked, starting his walk away.

More personal calls, eh? Any innuendo flew over Megrez's head, so she just thought it was nice that Castor offered to be open for matters other than strict business. When she took her phone back, she checked to make sure his number actually made it in there and let Castor leave. "Thanks, Castor. I hope to see you soon," she said, waving goodbye as he went.
