This is based on Broken_Bleeding_Angel's F.A.Q. from the 10th Annual Ball but since we still get many of the same questions I am going to re-use it and update it.

I'd love to be a character in one of the threads. Exactly how would I go about doing that?

Once the main host has been chosen, you may apply to become a host. If you don't get chosen for that, don't worry! You can always apply to be a co-host or official roleplayer.

I'm also totally interested in helping out this year as well, and I'm sort of interested in the room roleplayer position. Are there any specific qualifications you have to meet?

As long as you're dependable and can play your role, we'll take you! If you haven't had any experience with roleplaying, there are plenty of people in the guild available to ask for help.

How much work is this role?

            Host/Secondary
            -Select co-hosts
            -Create room plot
            -Find and order art
            -Find and order room graphics
            -Create contests
            -Create room
-Set everything up in all the right places
            -Role Play

In addition to that you also have to deal with problems in every step, solve conflicts, answer pm's, and stay in contact with the main host and other rooms.

            Co-hosts
            -Help create contests
            -Have input on the plot/art/graphics
            -Run contests
            -Role play

            Official Roleplayers
            -Pick a role
            - Provide input on the room
-Roleplay, moving the story along while the Hosts and co hosts are busy.

            What are Floating Co-Hosts?

Floating co-hosts are members who joined later in planning for the ball who wanted to be involved. They are available to help the rooms move the plot around and also help to answer questions that guests ask in the forum.

            Quote:
How many rooms are there typically?

It really depends upon what the plot calls for. When it was Seven Deadly Sins/Heavenly Virtues, there were seven rooms. During the Zodiac ball there were six to allow for two Zodiac per room. It also depends upon how many applications for room host there are.

When will we know the theme and hosts/co-hosts?

This is up to the main host to decide based on when he or she is nominated. It can take up to the end of September to decide depending on how much debate there is over the themes. It's best to be patient, cast your vote, and wait and see the results than to poke or prod.

            Can I have gold?

No. If you're not a committee head, then you're not getting any gold. Gold is only distributed to room hosts for the cost of art and graphics and to committee heads for the same purposes and this is almost always close to the ball itself, not months in advance.

            Can I be a host/co-host?

Did you apply to be one? You must fill out the application form just like everyone else does so that your qualifications can be gauged. Don't worry - this is not a job that requires a lot of experience but it does require a little. Just let us get to know you a little before we make the decision.

            Quote:
How much gold do we currently have?

            That's for the fundraising committee to know and for you to ask him/her (;

If I really don't want to be a host/co-host, do I have to apply anyway if I all want to be taken seriously for other tasks? What if I'm really not all that interested in advertising or fundraising? [i.e. What should first-time people expect?]

No you don't have to apply if you don't want to be a host/co-host. It wont impact you at all. So no worries. First time people? Don't expect a lot to happen in a short amount of time. The whole process take a year. And I get it, you're all excited and eager to start the whole ball process, but we generally start this when most of our people are going back to school, so expect it to be slow to start and to pick up as the year goes on. This is a very well organized machine so everything that is supposed to happen will happen when it is meant too.
