Name: Aimee
About: While being sharp and precise, Aimee can come off as highly critical of others. She performs to the best of her abilities and expects nothing less out of others. Aimee has a lot of practice spotting lies and ulterior motives (thanks to her father), so sneaking past her will be a feat in itself!

There is a lot of confidence in her walk that allows her to carry herself with dignity. She lives life on a harsh line, but she also loves hard and would do almost anything for those she holds dear.

She will be a strict mother, expecting the foals to succeed in whatever path they choose. There will be no "half-assing" with her around, and you better believe that if there is someone's going to be in trouble!

With all of her criticisms Aimee will gladly show her foals the glory of swamp life; where land and water coincide. She'll share her love of nature, exploration, and treasure seeking, as well as her insight on local fauna.

-Feel free to rp as either gender for these prompts. Just be prepared for that chance of getting a girl if your entry is based on a boy and vice versa.

1

Your little one was trailing after Aimee into the swamp. Somewhere along one of her lectures about different types of vines you seem to have wandered off! How do you get back to her? Are you scared, or is this just a walk in the park for you, you little rascal!

2

Your father is a purebred flutter. Your mother is a mix of wind, cerynei and kelpi. With so many mixed races in your genes do you feel conflicted? Do others make fun of you because of your mixed heritage, or do they think you're exotic? Is it possible that you wish you were something else entirely?

3

Free for all! If you don't like one of the other two prompts this is a chance for your own brand of creativity to shine through.

Fluttering pointy hooved kelp guys!

Username: Nikkichomp
Basket Name: Male - Remi; Female - Shara
Temper: Loyal
Personality: Remi (or Shara) is very family oriented. He would do anything for them, and would rather die than fail to protect them in a time of need. Remi shares his mother's love of swampy environments, and has a particularly strong interest in treasure hunting. However, greed is his downfall - he will inadvertently take unnecessary risks or throw caution to the wind when hot on the trail of a treasure.

He is friendly and has a cheerful disposition, with a drive to meet everyone's expectations. Having grown up with criticism and demands for near-perfection, he has grown into his own worst critic, and will push himself harder than anyone else possibly could.

Prompt Choice: Prompt 2
Prompt Post: Remi traveled along the path, heading toward the swamp where he knew he'd find his mother. To his surprise, there was a mare ahead of him on the path as well. Although it was rare to run into anyone new all the way out here, he was an outgoing, social creature, and he was always happy to make an acquaintance. "Hello there," he called out cheerfully.

"Stay AWAY from me, mix-breed," she snapped in reply.

Remi shook his head at the stranger in front of him. Some Soquili are so insensitive! He supposed they didn't know any better, though how one's parents could raise a child with no manners was a mystery to him. Her remark brought foalhood memories flooding back into his mind. He'd been mocked before by foals his age. They'd thought his combination of fins, antlers, and flutter wings strange and called him names. Remi had run home, distraught. Aimee gently but firmly described to him the origins of his variety of heritages.

"Now, don't ever forget that you and your siblings are special," she said. "Having traits of so many breeds gives you advantages that others will never get to enjoy. You can swim faster than land Soquili, user your wings to help lift your weight when crossing rough or uncertain terrain, and you can get the tastiest pieces of bark more easily using your antlers."

"But, mom," he wailed, "If we're so special, why are they making fun of me?!"

"Because, some Soquili are afraid of what they don't understand. Always be proud of who you are," she replied.

And as he grew from a foal into an adult, those words became his mantra. 'Always be proud of who you are.' He learned that those who mocked him were actually few and far between. Most other Soquili were curious, cautious, or simply did not notice his unique features. Those who reacted negatively, he left alone.

And he makes the same decision here. His body is useful and strong, his friends and family are plentiful, and he is content. If the mare changes her mind, she will be welcome, and if she does not, she is of no concern to him. "Suit yourself," he chuckled, and trotted past her.

Wasteland Wyvern

Dangerous Demigod

Fluttering pointy hooved kelp guys!

Username: Wasteland Wyvern
Basket Name: Male - Caeraan, Female - Kinnae
Temper: Rough-Hewn
Personality: (Playing as the male character, but the personality will be the same for either gender)
Rough-hewn could be the least radical thing to call Caeraan. He is the hermit of the swamp for lack of a better term. Tormented about his mixed heritage he took it upon himself to be better than the best, and often pushes himself to his limits and farther still. Whether it be running or swimming he excels at both and enjoys them immensely. His swamp is his playground and anyone caught in it fears him and what he might do, but little do they know that he is actually a kind soul, just a bit rough around the edges.
If someone was lost or hurt he'd do his level best to get them the help they need, or to try and fix them himself though as he knows little about healing it would be a slapdash job if ever there was one.
His mother was very critical of his siblings and he and his father vastly overprotective. While they have their faults he loves them dearly and any saying otherwise will meet Caeraan's full wrath.

Prompt Choice: One
Prompt Post: The swamp surrounding them was dark and foreboding but to Caeraan it was home. He loved how the branches touched the water, heavy with lichen and moss, creating ripples in the tepid liquid.
His mother was currently lecturing them about the vines one could find in this particular swamp and how useful they could be. Personally Caeraan had no interest in vines or anything like that. He wanted nothing more than to run and play with his siblings. Hide and seek, tag, and water tag were all some of his favorite games.
Apparently he had made a disparaging noise and his mother turned to him with anger in her eyes. He lowered his head and murmured an apology for interrupting her. When she turned back to the path ahead continuing her lecture Caeraan began gazing out over the swampy terrain, wishing again that he could just go play. He began daydreaming about having fun when his conscious mind started to go off about something being terribly wrong. Blinking he noticed that he was alone with nothing but the wet sounds that were common to swampy areas and the croaking of frogs to keep him company. "Hmmm..." He said to himself. This was the first time he'd ever been truly alone since emerging from his basket. Usually his parents kept a close watch on their children.
Maybe this was a test? 'Mother could be hiding and waiting to see if I can find my way back to her.' He thought. Yes that had to be it. It was just a test and one he was eager to pass!
Trotting forward he surveyed the land around him noting that there was not a lot of stable land and what was passable was mucky sand bars that tended to suction ones hooves and hold on tight. Stepping carefully he found the best possible footing and moved carefully, testing his steps before putting his full weight down. Never knew when you'd find a patch of quicksand in this place.
A soft growling noise drew his attention to his right. A rather large scaly creature with its mouth open displaying wickedly sharp teeth. The crocodile wasn't interested in him really but if he came close enough it might take a snap so he skirted a little to the left, but forgot to test his step first. The soft terrain caught his foot in a mud trap firmly gluing him to the spot he stood. "Great..." He sighed. Pulling hard once, twice he managed to free the erring foot but the excess force he used in freeing the foot set him off balance and into a stagnant pool of water. Smiling he quickly got up and shook off his short fur. Some of his mane was sticking to his neck and he had muddy streaks along his flank but in truth he didn't care. He was having fun despite being lost.
Sniffing he caught the scent of one of his siblings, who had been traveling with him and their mom. Now that he had something to go off of he moved a lot more quickly. It wasn't long before his mother came into view, his siblings behind mother. Trotting out he was about to tell his mother that he was alright when she spoke first. "What did you think you were doing! You nearly gave me and your father a heart attack! Wandering off like that...." She looked over her son and saw his muddy, wet self. He was an absolute fool but at least he was safe. She took in a breath and steadied herself before saying, "Keep close this time Caeraan and do not wander off again." Her tone was final and he listened carefully. He didn't mean to scare her but in truth during his whole little adventure his heart was hammering away like a scared rabbit. He thought he'd never see his family again but he was back with them now. He nickered softly before falling back into step with his mother, grateful that she was there to guide him through his young years.

Username: dawns_aura
Basket Name:
m- Taran ('Tear-ran')
f- Llyra ('Lee- rah')
Temper: Complex
Personality: * will be written as female, but will be the same for the opposite gender *

Llyra is devoted to the idea of family and the importance of blood ties in the abstract, her feelings toward the individuals related to her by blood will be determined by her interactions with them. That being said, she will do anything in her power to stand by her family and do whatever is necessary to see that they are safe and happy.

She is also like her mother in that she sets only the highest goals for herself - nothing is worth doing, unless it is worth doing well. She often falls short of the goals she sets herself, and is harsher on her own perceived failures than anyone else could possibly be. And though it is a double standard - she is very aware of it - she does not expect others to reach her expectations. In fact, she holds no expectations of others, allowing them to impress or disgust her on their own merits.

She is intelligent, wanting to know anything and everything that anyone at all is willing to teach her. After all, all knowledge is worth having.

Prompt Choice: 3
Prompt Post:
Llyra could not stand the swamps. They were filthy and damp and just uncomfortable to be in all around. But it was where her mother seemed to be the happiest. Here she would open up, and describe things. Teach things. So she would go along with it. For the sake of knowledge. Who knew when it would come in handy.

She filed the knowledge away, even as she did her utmost to stay out of the worst areas. Trying to keep her hooves and the rest of herself clean and pristine.

She listened to the stories and even, once or twice, thought that perhaps ... maybe... the swamps weren't all that bad. But it was in those moments of possibly fond thoughts that her siblings had to ruin it. By talking too loudly or playing around or flinging mud in her direction. Any one of which was more than enough to reinforce her poor opinion of the place.

But it got her to wondering. This area was what she was familiar with, what she was comfortable with, what she knew.... But what about the rest of the world? There had to be more than this, right? What would it be like to to just wander off. To go to new places, to see new things. All the knowledge that was out there.

She knew she was as yet too small and weak, and not likely all that able to take care of herself out there in the big world just yet, but she could dream. She could learn and practice and better herself so that one day, one day she might travel to the end of the world and see all that there was to see. Experience all that there was to experience and learn all that there was to learn.

After all, in some ways she was very much her mother's daughter.

Personality:
[ Note - Basket is written as female, but will retain personality if male <3 ]

Adelaide tries her hardest to be just like her mother, but seems to fail every time. She tries to approach each situation confidently, but her balloon of courage tends to pop under too much pressure, and she will flee if she becomes too flustered. Addie believes that if she listens to everything her mother teaches her, she can break out of her shy mold. She has a bit of a nervous stutter, and will sit at the back of the crowd if she can, but as she grows she will slowly gain confidence thanks to her family and friends.

Prompt Choice:
Prompt #1

Prompt Post:
The swamp mud was slick against her legs and sides, and causing an itch like no other, but Adelaide did not care. She was with her mama, and if her mama did not care, then there was no reason for little Adelaide to. Her chest was puffed out and her head held high, just like her mama's was. Something wiggling in the mud nearby caused her stomach to roll and she closed her eyes, willing the image away. She continued after her mother with her eyes shut, following her soft, yet firm, voice as she continued to detail the importance of the swamp plants they passed.

Her brow furrowed as her mother's voice got softer and softer, and despite Addie's efforts to quicken her steps, the deep mud hindered all progress. Her eyes snapped open.

"M-Mama?" The filly could not help the shudder that passed through her when she received no answer. She stopped altogether, her hooves slowly sinking her further into the mud. "Mama?!" she called, louder, clearer now. No answer.

She frantically scanned the surroundings, lifting her hooves every so often to release them from their muddy prison. Had she really wandered so far? Had her mother noticed she was gone yet? Why had Addie closed her eyes? Would her mama be disappointed? Should she keep walking? Or would that get her even more lost? All of these questions bounced around in Adelaide's frantic mind.

"Stop," she whispered, taking a deep breath. "Stop and think like Mama,"

Addie turned around. She had hung on every word her mother had said since they had left her father and siblings that morning for a stroll. She replayed that morning's teachings in her head and started walking.

"Cattails," she murmured. The last plant her mom had pointed out. She kept walking, keeping her head held high despite her occasional nervous shake. Her eyes caught another plant, one her mother had mentioned just before the Cattails.

"Bog Bean," she laughed. She was getting it now - it was working! If she followed the plants her mother had named, she could find her way back home!

"Buttonbush"

"Lizard's Tail"

"Sweetflag"

"Penn-" She was suddenly interrupted by a sweet laugh. Her eyes widened and she stopped. She looked up to see her mama waiting for her at the edge of the swamp.

"Mama!" Addie exclaimed. She galloped forward, clumsily hopping out of the mud and back on solid ground next to her mama. Her mother smiled down at her with a proud shimmer in her eyes.

"Good job, Adelaide"

Username: Divena
Basket Name: Risti Verisia
Temper: perfectionist
Personality: (rped as female, but the personality and name will remain the same.) As implied by the temper, the little one will be a perfectionist. She will take after her mother in the sense that she will not do anything half way, and doesn't tolerate others to give up. This could often come off as bossy, and she could be accused of being a know it all since she handles every situation with confidence. Perhaps unearned confidence, but hey, that's how you improve, right? Sure.

Prompt Choice: 1
Prompt Post: Mum had gotten distracted. That was the only explanation. After all, Risti couldn't possibly be lost, and neither could Mum. Pops, maybe. He didn't always seem to know where he was going or what he was doing, though he tried hard. But Mum always knew what was what. Sometimes, though, she got distracted. And that was how Risti found herself sitting, and shivering, at the base of a very large, and very scary tree.

Not that she was scared, of course. Risti didn't scare easily. Being scared meant you made mistakes, were confused, or didn't know what was going on. None of which would Risti admit to being. So, no. The creepy tree didn't scare her. And that dark shape in the swamp was a log, not an alligator. Or would that be crocodile? What was the difference? Risti made a mental note to ask Mum about that later. It seemed like something that would be important to know.

Because there WOULD be a later. The young foal refused to believe otherwise. Sure, she was alone, and cold, and wet, and her leg hurt. It was distinctly likely that she had tripped earlier and sprained her leg when she had been... Rushing home. Right. She certainly hadn't panicked and run in circles until she accidentally stumbled across what she thought was solid land only to sink into the swamp.

Now, despite all the things that had happened, or what she refused to admit happened, she was back where she had started. But she was calmer now, and she remembered what Pops had told her to do when she got lost. Mum would have expected her to find her way home, Risti knew. Because Mum would have expected her to at least try. But Pops knew, and had taught her that sometimes, to do something right, you needed help. He had also told her that is she was ever alone or lost, she should stay where she was, if it was safe, and wait for someone to find her.

So she was huddled at the base of a large, scary tree. Wet, cold, and not scared, waiting. Not scared because she knew Mum was amazing and could do anything, including find her. And she knew that, if Mum didn't find her, Pops would. Because he always did.

‘Gezz what’s there problem? Do I look weird or something. Well kinda..I guess ?
So what if i dont look exactly like them. They shouldn’t judge me; they don’t know me or my family. Looks aren’t everything, I’m not judging them.'

Basket Name: Antheia (female) / Momus (male)
Temper: Dissolute
Personality: (Answering as female)
Antheia is a straight up con-artist, a swindler and a conniver. There is nothing she won't do to get what she wants, to avoid hard work and the difficult things in life. She knows well what her mother expects of her in life, and spends much of her time trying to pull the wool over her eyes and get by with doing the least amount of work.

She will lie, cheat and flatter to fulfill her own needs and ends, and although she attempts to mislead her mother she tries not to lie or cheat her family members too much!
She is somewhat of a coward however, afraid of pain and will flee a situation if she believes it has to led to the point where she will be physically harmed.

She is a hard one to get close to, or be friends with as she holds the belief that everyone is around for her to use to her own advantage, and as such it will take someone with an extraordinary amount of patience to get past her innate behaviour and get her to be honest with them.

Prompt Choice: #1
Prompt Post:
Ugh, I get it mom, you know alot about vines.. . The filly's eyes rolled skywards as she drifted behind her mother, hooves squelching in the soft swamp mud, sullenly kicking at moss everytime her mother waxed lyrical about a new type of vine. Antheia wasn't sure what the point of the lecture was, she just knew she was bored, bored from her nose to her tail and wondering when this little field trip was going to end.

One of the endless insects that seemed to be following them in a cloud buzzed near her face again and she snapped at it, flicking her tail. It wouldn't leave her alone this time, and kept coming back and darting away, and without knowing what she was really doing she began following the flying pest, snapping and rearing at it until she had finally scared it away. It was only when she stopped to catch her breath, that she realised she had not only wandered away from her mother, but that she was now in an unfamiliar part of the swamp.

Not only that, a cursory glance, and then a full circle turn on the spot to look all around her didn't lend any help as to how far away her mother was or indeed what direction she had continued on in. Antheia was on her own. Alone. In the swamp...and then it hit her. No more lectures on vines! That immediately put a smile on her face, and despite a few reservations about possibly being sucked into a bottomless bog, she skipped off in no particular direction.

Unfortunately her good mood only lasted so long. The filly was getting tired, hot, thirsty, grumpy and she was also slowly getting covered in green muck from the swampy surroundings. Being on her own had definately lost its thrill, and now all she wanted to do was find her mother and go home. She also sort of wished she'd been paying attention to the vine lecture as she kept getting slapped by hanging and climbing plants, and it would be nice to be able to shout at them by their name.

After a while more of trudging along, more flies and more being slapped in the face by nameless plants she had had more than enough and finding a sort of clear spot, plonked down on the ground and started yelling loudly. It was some time later that her mother discovered her daughter, cross faced and coloured green, the swamp mud falling off her in flaky lumps.

Antheia eventually got home safe, sound and green free, but not before a long bath and a scolding that made her ears ring for days afterwards.

She will help whoever, mainly due to the belief that if she does their requests, they will not harm her.

Prompt Choice: Your little one was trailing after Aimee into the swamp. Somewhere along one of her lectures about different types of vines you seem to have wandered off! How do you get back to her? Are you scared, or is this just a walk in the park for you, you little rascal!
Prompt Post: Swamp. Boggy water. Bugs. She closed her small beady eyes, for a second, to find herself stumbling into the reeds, feeling icky. Opening her eyes, there was nothing like familiarity to her. Where was Aimee and the others? Tandarmee gave a quiet cry, allowing some tears to trickle down her small face. Lost. She was lost.

A sound was made behind her, and the filly cried louder than ever. "Please don't hurt me!" The foal threw her hooves in front of herself, trying to get out of here, but looking from where she fell from, it was a journey's way up. And she was just a tiny little being. In reality, it was just a good four steps up, but the filly's mind gave her the idea of at least fifty.

Great. She was now stuck here, and some large flying quadripled eye creature was coming her way. A monster! She screamed, in attempts to scare it off. She did not want to be eaten! The fly soon flew passed the filly, and Tandarmee was more nervous than ever. That was, until Aimee's familiar face poked through the reeds. Oh, was she ever so glad to see her mother again!

Prompt Choice:
Your little one was trailing after Aimee into the swamp. Somewhere along one of her lectures about different types of vines you seem to have wandered off! How do you get back to her? Are you scared, or is this just a walk in the park for you, you little rascal!

Prompt Post: The sound of happy humming could be heard through the swamp though there may not be many to hear it.
"Wait.....no one to hear me?!", spoke the young foal who seemingly had lost sight of his mother as she was speaking of the many types of vines and their many uses. "Oh is that what momma was talking about? Wait who are you....and where are you? Crap! Where am I........Im in so much trouble......", stated the foal as he turned about in a circle looking for familiar landmarks. Alas he hadn't paid attention as he was daydreaming once again. "Hey! I wouldn't call it day dreaming....day dreaming is for girls...." Then what would you call it little one I asked as the young foal got embarrassed. "Why you! Were are you, why are you picking on me?! Go away!" Well if I did that how would you fnd where your mom went? I asked as the foal started to get angry but then huffed realizing he was indeed in need of assistance. "......." The foal said nothing and just looked at the sky and at his surroundings again before finally replying again. "Your really annoying......and you don't make sense, but Ill tolerate you so I can find momma." He said as he kneaded at the ground with a hoof and then grunted at the continuing narration. "Will you just tell me already!" He exclaimed as he headed forward and to the left where he found light hoof impressions. "Wait I haven't moved yet......Oh never mind I get it.....Weirdo...." And so the foal skipped happily back to find his mother who wasn't too far ahead. "Shut Up!" He said in a hushed tone trying to not alert his mother that he had wondered off. "*disgruntled sigh*"

I know weird but its what came to me and if it comes off like it did in my head then maybe it'll give you a laugh too. xD
