Charlie had left his teaching job an hour or so after his last class, opting to spend the time working on his next lesson plan. He had to be cautious, because all lessons were reviewed by the school board to ensure that it was pro-negaverse and anti-order. This was an especially daunting task, if only because he knew the truth behind the chaotic lies.

He had lived them, but he had been saved from them and he desperately, but secretly, desired to spare his students.

Still, his subject allowed him some freedom since he taught English, something that had transferring from his life before purification, and as long as his paper topics were vague he could sort out the kids who still had hope. Who disagreed with the teachings of the Negaverse. Who believed that the senshi were on their side.

It reminded him that there were people who deserved to be protected. People who could be saved.

It also made him think, often, of his princess because while everyone had been damaged in the war, she bore some of the worst wounds. Which lead him to stopping by a flower shop and picking up a small bouquet of sunflowers on his way to her apartment.

While the gesture may have appeared romantic, it was simply a gesture of loyalty and friendship to remind Serenade that he was there to stand by her side as needed.

When he reached her apartment by the hospital, he knocked. "Hi Serenade, it's Charlie."

There were dark circles around her eyes she hid with concealer and makeup.

It was the very least of her scars, but it did signify the toll that was taking on her with everything; maman still unconscious and unresponsive, guard duty, and the ever pressing fact of Chaos ruling public opinion. Sometimes it seemed as though her tears had dried up, but there were nightmares that would encourage them to flow once again. But in front of everyone else, she would try her hardest to put up a brave front, especially for her students.

Being a teacher was something she had never entertained as a full-time job in the past, but it was what she was doing now to get by. All she needed was a smile and laughter from the children to make herself feel that she was whole again, just for a little while.

But when they left, she was empty inside yet again.

A knock came, and all she needed to do was to peek through the peephole before opening it. These were dire times after all, and it wouldn't do to leave her guard down.

"Hi Charlie." She greeted, smiling wanly at him. He was a constant reminder to her that the agents of Chaos could be saved, only if they wanted to, of course. And it was this convincing that proved difficult in light of recent situations, that made her outlook bleak. "How's school?"

Despite the makeup, Charlie could tell how worn his princess was. It made him frown, briefly, before he covered it up with a soft smile. "School's alright, love my kids," he told her, scratching at the back of his head with the hand not holding the sunflowers. He loved teaching, it was one of the only things that really transferred from his previous life, but seeing the way propaganda affected his students was difficult.

It made him thankful that his subject was English because it allowed him to creatively pull information from his kids. Allowed him to find those who wanted to reach out for help, to be saved as he had been, but were worried about the ever watchful eyes of chaos.

"How are your kids?" He often wondered if she found her students to be as much of a highlight for as his were for him. He shifted a bit awkwardly, suddenly reminded that he'd brought her flowers. "Oh, I brought these for you," he said as he offered them to her.
