D'reighton had gone for a walk by himself, trying to figure out the mare that had visited at his parents home not long ago. She was sooo confusing. He paced. She of all azrein on earth had managed to make him mad...HIM the collosal marshmellow. She just ARGH she made him see red and it brought out that side of him that he had thought melted away, of course she herself was in no danger but with that rage controlled he might be able to actually fight off his brothers...maybe.

Arach's eyes calmly scanned his surroundings as he explored the forest around him. His father--well, one of his fathers--had taken him on a little expedition of sorts, a trip to help him hone his keen observational skills. The gray orbs drank in the scenery and his ears caught the sounds of wildlife he heard. His father had been right; the northern areas of the Isle contained so much more life than the half-barren valley where he'd been born. There was so much more for his senses to observe. He had just stopped to inspect the berries on a bush when a flash of purple moved in his peripherals. He turned to face it more fully and paint a better picture of what he was seeing. The hooves and tail immediately suggested Azrein. Another moment revealed a maneless, horned head with fins similar to those on his father's legs. And the horns were identical as well... but as he watched, the large wings came into view. His father did not have wings. But the markings were similar despite the teal coloring of this male. He started towards the stallion calmly but quietly, curious.

D'rei heard something and his large predatory head swung around focusing on ...well a colt a harmless little colt that looked well disturbingly familiar with a decidedly deadly looking spikey tail...hmmm.
"Hello, what brings you here youngling?" It wasn't as if ...as if.. something tickled his brain.

"Hello," Arach greeted back. "I am undergoing observational training with my father. Your colors contrasted the surrounding area, therefore I wished to investigate," he replied, the words flowing from his mouth like water. Although he didn't realize it, he had his father D'von's way with words. They used different vocabulary and Arach was informative rather than persuasive, they sounded somewhat alike when they spoke. Arach's tail flicked absently behind him, his entire body's language calm. "What brings you out here, sir? Do you reside nearby?" His father had mentioned family in the south, but not in the north... It was rather puzzling.

The colts body was relaxed and therefore nothing alarmed D'rei, but something about cadence..the tone made a part of his face twitch.
"I am gathering my thoughts, I now have an infuriating female in my life and I find myself at a loss as to how to even talk to her." A small flame seemed to flicker in his eyes for a moment. He shook his head. "Stay in the girls are icky stage if you want a happy life."

Arach nodded slightly to the beginning of the explanation, but grew obviously more and more puzzled as the stranger continued. His facial expressions changed as he conversed silently with his other, trying to comprehend what the stallion in front of him was talking about. "I... see." Returning to his usual calm expression, he said, "I believe it is customary to exchange names when meeting someone. My name is Arach. Yours?" Also, this stallion seemed a little stiff... why was that? Perhaps due to his relationship troubles?

"My name is D'reighton, a pleasure Arach." And it was a pleasure to meet a new face that wasn't intent on scorring your hide or infuriating you as was the want of some females. "Don't mind me and my mare troubles I...there was a glint in the foals eye that his own focused in on. "Who did you say your parents were? Shouldn't you get back to your father soon? "

D'reighton? His name had the same style as his father's. Was it coincidence or relation? He listened to the stallion, frowning slightly when he suddenly trailed off. "My parents are Orthus and Arachnae and D'von." Glancing over his shoulder, he added, "I haven't left the designated proximity from my father, so I should be fine. I'm supposed to be far enough away to observe my surroundings on my own but close enough to avoid unnecessary complications."

Dreighton's face closed down as he skimmed over the other two names and landed on D'vons. "Which father is nearby?" His pelt broke out in a sweat and he spread his wings, aimed for the sky.

Arach took a step back, some of his muscles bunching in sudden wariness. "... Why do you ask?" He tilted his head slightly as he inspected the stallion preparing for flight. "Are you related to D'von?"

"I....I'm his brother," tears stung his eyes and he surged into the air, up and away from the colt that was his nephew, he had absolutely no malice for the colt, he was worried his father would pop out and attack or punish the lad for being with him, better he delay that now and fly before anyone got hurt.
He flew home as fast as he could and collapsed in a heap by his step mother who slept in the straw also, twitching fitfully. He had more family...nice family form the sounds of it, but what could he do with his brother so close to them.

Arach frowned. He didn't understand. From the sounds of it, his father didn't have the best relationship with his other family members, but why would this uncle of his cry over admitting that?
He wasn't sure his father would tell him... should he take his observational training further and go try to find his uncle D'reighton again? His other self seemed to think it worthwhile and he had no real arguments to present, so Arach trotted in the direction that he'd seen his uncle take off in.

D'rei paced for a bit in the thick straw, but managed not to wake his somewhat irritable mother, she wasn't always thus, he was given to understand but the old ahem bat, didn't take so well to change, or threats or those outside her bonded and her mate ect... which included him for the moment. She was starting to warm up, he thought.
Kess huffed in her sleep as if she could read his thought even while asleep.
D'rei didn't like that idea much.

Arach finally broke through the trees, staring for a few minutes at the structures in front of him. Human dwellings, perhaps? They definitely weren't like anything he'd ever seen before. He drew closer, inspecting the larger structure. The sound that emitted from the structure's side when his tail hit it reminded him of the sound of his tail hitting a hollow log. Was it made of them? But this building was so... square, and trees were, well, cylindrical. How curious.
He began to circle the building, pausing at a large, square-shaped opening. He decided against entering; the thought of going into an unknown structure didn't appeal to him in the slightest. But when he saw movement, he drew closer, his eyes widened slightly with curiosity.

At an odd thump Kessling's head snapped up and she swore rather rudely.
D'rei winced and trained his eyes on the door. Uh oh. It was either his most beloved father, a crazy brave nephew or one of the brothers he never wanted to see again. Maybe Kess would help him pulp the intruder if it were a brother. As much as he had respect for family he would rather not worry about them anymore.
