An agent, doing nothing more than patrolling. Not harming anyone, not draining any energy. Maybe 17, 16. A kid. Someone who'd been near his age when he'd awoken. All he asked was if he wanted to be free- to stop draining energy for chaos, to stop killing. The kid had laughed in his face, mockingly said that he was saving people unlike senshi, who were killing.
The child found himself with a fist lodged in his chest not soon after, his weapon on the ground useless and broken. Castor didn't bother trying to convert the lieutenant. A quick killing, he held the agent's throat with one hand, heart in the other.
The boy died quickly enough, a flicker of chaos gone from the world. A flicker of order not to far off. "Will you question my method, or rather worry about how we dispose of the body?"

Gunn sucked at sensing auras. It was sort of a joke at this point; she practiced and practiced and just, no, it wasn't going to catch. Like the nerdy art kids who would never be able to throw a perfect spiral, Gunn was never going to be able to tell if she was sensing a small horde of senshi or just one very strong one. In this case, it was the latter. "C'mon, Castor," she said, rambling a little closer to the Prince. She hadn't seen Castor around since her return--well, she'd left before he had, so which one of them was weaker? Who knew. Who cared. In a way, she'd sort of picked up his mantle, with teh training of the White Moon. Her frustration with their ability to look past petty conflict and see the real enemy was reaching ridiculous proportions. If they weren't going to fight, or even learn to fight, to save the city, they should at least learn to save themselves. "Caaastor Castor Castor, you know me better than that." She reached into her pocket and held up the matchbook. "Not like I really need this anymore, but, hell. Who cares?" She dropped the match on the agent's chest and murmured the name of her first-stage attack under her breath. Soon enough, the corpse was crackling merrily as it burned. "Where have you been, anyway? I've been stuck here with a bunch of bitches who'd rather face a hundred civilian deaths than lift a hand in resistance. Could've used some help."

The voice had his heard turning with a slight smile. Well, out of all the senshi, he couldn't say that Gunn was his favorite, but knowing that she wasn't going to go off on him for killing was a bonus. "Do I though? Years change a person. I probably would never have considered this a few years back let alone had the balls to do it." He tossed the heart into the burning corpse. The smell of burning hair and flesh should have sickened him, made him reel back, but he'd gotten used to it. A morbid thing if anything to have grown accustomed to even if it had been a while since he'd last had it assaulting his senses. "I'd be a liar to say I didn't enjoy some part of it." Knowing he could, would kill, that he had that power was indeed, frightening. Kicking the body so he didn't have to deal with the possibility of exploding guts, Castor held up the bloody hand. "I'd give you a hug but doubt you'd like it. Overseas- Business of the human sort. And.. yeah. I came back and it's pretty obvious that no one has stepped to the plate to do anything about the issue. Nothing worth our reputation anyway." He looked a nearby wall. "If I was a few years younger I think I might have taken to tagging my kills. Anyway how have you been- thought you might have died."

"True, that," she said. He held up his hand and she rolled her eyes and stepped in for a hug. She only stayed for a second before stepping back and wrinkling her nose at the incredibly bacon-like smell of burning flesh. "Yeah, well, those of us who have the strength of will to do it also tend to be the kind who alienate most of the people playing peacekeeper. There's actual knights befriending actual Dark Mirror Princes, did you know?" ******** traitors. "Senshi having tea parties with Negaversers. Like those same people aren't stealing years off the lives of civilians every damn day." Gunn shrugged. "I've been keeping busy. I do training things on the second Saturday of every month. I do aircraft repairs for the Air Force." Tanzanite had once tagged her kills--granted, it had been with Ares's name. As long as Castor didn't suddenly pick up actually carving words into bodies… "So what brings you back around, other than to play holier-than-thou team leader?"

The hug was one handed, the blood covered fist kept away so as to not drip all over her. "Idiots." He said it casually, as if it was just plain as day. "There can't be peace- there is a reason that the powers are used to being talked of upon a scale for a reason." Shaking off his hand, tiny flecks of red decorated the ground. "But Dark Mirror Princes?" His gaze narrowed. If that was true, then they the knights in question were in a desperate need of a reality check. "Sounds like we have a few idiots in the ranks in need of a wake up call." He started walking away from the scene knowing soon enough, someone would come looking. Or smelling. "While I'm glad to hear you're doing well, I came back to do less than holy things." He waved back at the body. "I'm here to finish this war Gunn. Soon enough I plan to unleash hell and god help whoever is naive enough to think that we can have this war without bloodshed. All I'll be doing it making it a bit more... official."

She followed him, hands still propped on her hips. The whole affair smelled vaguely like meat roasting--which, really, was what was happening. Meat and plastic--the kid's weapon? It didn't matter anymore. He was dead, exactly as he had the right to be. "Yeah, duh," she said. "It's not all on the knights, but the whole attitude of he doesn't kill people so we can save him is disgusting…" The idea of someone ending this war appealed to her. She was not a leader, and she knew it; she was, at best, a training instructor. Gunn's was not the long-term vision, it was immediate answers to short-term problems. If Castor thought he had the guts and the power to do it, then she would follow him the whole way. Unlike Ares, she didn't doubt for a moment that he was incorruptible. "Sure," she said. "And if you need anything burned, you know where to find me. I'm not a leader, but I'm doing okay with the training deal for now. I can be useful."

"If that is how people think purification works they are grossly mistaken. Nearly 3 years ago I tried to explain that to them- and yet they ignored me and my warnings. Glad to see ignorance is still an order approved thing." Rolling his eyes as they walked, Castor paused to look at the growing cloud of smoke. Someone would call it in soon enough. "I do thank you for the little vote of confidence, and I will probably call on you in time- For now keep training them, keep telling them the realities of corruption and purification." He paused. "...You do or don't know those boundaries? I realize I had just assumed you did."

Gunn sighed and then, a little fixedly, smiled. "These poor, pitiful few don't see the same reality we do, Castor." She frowned, after a moment: that's right, all princes and princesses could purify. She looked at him sidelong. "I know only what I've observed," she said. "I've got a purified senshi and a purified officer living under my roof right now. One of them is, I suppose, standard. Doesn't remember s**t about the Negaverse but freaks the ******** out whenever he sees Avalon anyway, says she's psychotic and evil. Meanwhile Avalon is a total space case with no memories at all who sleepwalks and sings the unsettling wails of chaos, doesn't eat, doesn't sleep, just sings and obsesses over birds. It's ******** up." She arched an eyebrow at him. "If you've got more info on what the s**t goes on when you go side-swapping, I'd like it."

He hummed to himself for a short while, thinking on what Gunn was telling him. "To start, they loose more than their memories- They loose everything. Thair past self is dead to the world. All their families, friends, lovers- none of them can see past the glamor. Not to mention while their past chaos selves might be remembered, those who know their civilian identities back then.. they won't have forgotten. It puts them at risk. Those who purify die- they die while the keep living. That in itself is traumatic, worse is the lack of remembering to things they did or might have done. Without care and support to rebuild, to find who they are again, they are a danger to more than just themselves. For each person that purifies, another corrupts. Chaos and Order maintain a balance in the universe- while the scales are against us, they can be restored. However by purifying to tip those scales we can end up doing more harm than good in the long run." He looked up, wishing he could see his star from the sky. "The world is void of senshi Gunn. It has been.. lonely in Europe. Yet I could never bring myself to purify those I would encounter. I feared to tip those scales without knowing where the epicenter stood. Now? Now I wonder if I made the right choice. I might be taking a guess but, I take it that neither the knight nor senshi in your care have re-established themselves among the civilians? One of the things that will help is giving them supports. To purify is more than an act, it is commitment to the act. To know that you are acting against the most primal force we face at it's most fragile place of corruption. It can kill if it goes wrong, it can kill the one it seeks to save. Once we save them from chaos, we must keep them safe, because we have killed them. Death is not a thing you can just walk off."
