Sailor Hypnos simply sat in the park. She didn't have to do much. She didn't have to actively seek out members of senshi to capture or kill. She was part of the Public Relations. She made the Negaverse look good, and being a senshi on the side of the Negaverse who did no harm was an easy way (in her down time from her real job) to do that. If she happened to lure out a senshi, then she could contact someone for a capture job if necessary. That would be hitting two birds with one stone, right?
With a long night ahead of her, she opened up the cover of the book she'd brought along. She was cozy, sitting with her legs crossed on a blanket over the edge of a fountain in the middle of the park. This was the same park she'd previously held a public relations event in, and she felt comfortable enough here to sit exposed. She felt comfortable enough to read well into several chapters of the book before she felt the pull of a power signature. She looked up briefly as if to acknowledge it, and then she put her nose back into the book.

The surplus of corrupted senshi that did not belong to the Dark Mirror Court was troubling, and Remarque couldn't help but resenting whatever Negaverse Agent kept managing to swipe so many. And yet, for as much as Remarque felt a certain degree of disdain for all in the Negaverse, he knew many of the Corrupted Senshi were not necessarily there of their own free will.
But in a way, they were enemies all the same.
Enemies who might have been allies at one point in time.
So, it was without hesitation that he approached the park, intent to see who was there at this hour.
He made no secret that he was approaching and took no effort to conceal his energy signature.
Gradually, he was able to make out a figure, but it wasn't until he was nearly in front of her that he was able to really see her.
Hands in his pockets, he had blinked—and even he was unable to conceal his surprise when he thought he recognized her.
"Hypnos?"

Hearing her name, Hypnos folded the book down upon her lap and looked up. She expected to see someone from the Negaverse so she was surprised when she seen Remarque. She wasn't disappointed, and remembering him she found a smile come across her face. She had met him so long ago, and while their paths had crossed frequently over the years, she had never taken up his offer to change sides despite the growing power in Chaos.
"Remarque!" She said with a hint of excitement as her hands placed the book on the blanket beside her. Her expression softened as she stood to her feet to greet him. She hadn't seen too many people she recognized since joining the Negaverse and seeing a familiar face was reassuring.
"I wasn't expecting you. I wish you'd informed me that you were in the area."

Remarque's brows were knit as he watched the girl, and it was clear that he wasn't as delighted as he usually was.
But then, Hypnos had undergone quite a change since he'd last seen her. "I would have informed you had I known how. What is this?" he asked, gesturing towards her change in attire. He didn't seem mad, just perplexed—and almost pouty. He couldn’t be mad at Hypnos, but if he was mad at anyone, it was whoever had been responsible for this change.
"I thought you weren't interested in Chaos! And I see you like this, with the Negaverse?" His lips pursed and he was trying to be a good sport about it.
He just wasn't doing such a good job. "What happened?"

Hypnos might frequently stand on stage, pose for pictures and generally sit int he spotlight but that didn't mean she couldn't feel a little self conscious about the attention, especially when it was over such a dramatic change she'd taken in her life. She had worked so hard to gain her buttwings, those beautiful and angelic wings of light, and now hanging over her back were batwings. They sung in the night but they weren't the wings she had fought so hard for int he past.
"I wasn't." She said immediately, before stepping back, collecting her thoughts. How could she say this? How could she word this? Not all her memories pieced together like the puzzle they should be. Frequently she'd discover there was a piece missing, and her story didn't make sense again. How could she be herself if part of herself was missing? Would the pieces come back? Her heart beat hard in her chest, arguing with the thoughts of her mind.
This was it. This was her choice. She had ideas, but nothing was clear. She only knew she had no regrets over the choice she'd made, and that if given the same choice she would have done it in the heartbeat it had previously taken her to make it. Nothing would change, and once again she'd be in this placement. Did that mean there was no reason to ponder the pieces that were missing? Maybe. They were important, but so was her choice.
"I had a..." she said, biting down on her lip for a second. "I had a change of heart."

The way she spoke about it was not the way someone who was proud of their decision would have spoke about it, and Remarque found himself tensing—and then the questions started rolling in. He leaned against one of the poles of the swing set, arms crossed casually over his chest.
"It doesn't look like you're exactly happy about it," he mused, watching her expression closely. "…What was big enough to make you change your mind—your heart?"
Hypnos had always been an intelligent, kind girl…and she had always seemed to have an open mind with things relating to Chaos, even if she hadn't been interested in joining them. With as much as the Negaverse was pushing for total domination, though…
It made sense that she would have fallen one day, either to their corruption or to a blade. A part of Remarque was happy to see that she was at least still alive, but the other part of him couldn’t help but ask: at what cost?

Hypnos didn't like his assumption that she was unhappy. It was just hard! She often faced memory lapses when she tried to put the pieces together and her heart longed for things she couldn't recall. The worst part was when she ran into that senshi. She could remember how she felt and it made her very uneasy because she didn't understand everything.
There was no part of her that regret her choice. She would have done it again in a heartbeat.
"Don't mistake my confusion for unhappiness, Remarque," she said firmly, her weight shifting before she looked at him with a smile.
"The choice had to be made. Death awaited me otherwise," she said, telling a small lie. The truth was, she would have died if she watched Ixion die. Her heart had been broken in the past so many times, and while children bounced back, five years more on top of her childhood made it harder and harder to put her heart back together again. Each time, a piece of the heart that had made Ainsley disappeared. Without Ixion, there would be no repair.
The Hypnos everyone knew would have been dead, and so would Ixion.

Remarque raised a brow but shrugged. "Rock and a hard place. You made a necessary decision. Mostly sounds like they forced you to make it anyway. "Buuut," he drawled. "If you're happy…"
He sighed and then reached up to rub at the back of his neck. "Well, then that's good at least."
Even if it meant he now had to consider her a possible enemy. When she was a White Moon Senshi, he never had to question where her loyalties lie, or what she was after. Now? Every conversation could have been relayed to people he didn't want digging into his business.
"So, how are you liking it so far? Weird not to have the youma after you, or…?" He glanced at her. "Everyone in the Negaverse treating you all right? Making lots of friends?"
