Welcome to Roskilhiem The capital of the Ice Tribe.
We do not have a tongue which is linked to the culture of the tribe. Tongue is tongue, and the common tongue of the land is good enough for the tribe. Towards the north sits a wall of snow-capped mountains that separates the northern lands from the outside world. Children of the Earth, yet raised and carved by the elements, they stand stall and proud like born guards. To attempt to climb these stony monsters, and hope you can find a path through them, is a test of the body, spirit and mind. Those who wish to test their skill and find their way to the land of the Ice Tribe will face the tasks of climbing the mountains, surviving the snow and altitude, the scarcity of food, and the patience of finding a path to the land, or a path back out into the outside world.
Behind the wall of rock and stone you will find a land that most would believe nothing could survive in. Miles upon miles of arctic tundra stretch between the mountains towards a second group of mountains and then stretch beyond. The second mountain group forms a protective circle around a taiga biome. This area is the Ice Tribe capital, and it is a safe haven in a snowy hell. The mountains work to protect the tribe from raging snow storms while also giving the b’alam shelter. Yes, the tribe lives within caves carved into the mountain rock.
The highest peak of the grandest mountain is home to Loki, Magus of the Ice Tribe. It is there that he watches over the tribe and surrounding lands. It is there that he works to keep balance where balance is needed most, because in such a harsh place there can be no selfish behavior.

▬▬▬ Arch Magi || ◘ Loki || [ Ririka ] | Leader of the Ice Tribe |
▬▬▬ Culture ||
The survival of the tribe is more important than the survival of the individual. This is the understanding that the Ice Tribe lives by. The north is a harsh environment and not exactly the best place to make a living. Some would say that the Ice Tribe got the short end of the stick, but it is through the power of team work that they managed to survive long enough to create a strong, flourishing, and lively culture.
No matter the job of the individual they provide for the survival for the group. It is no secret that some jobs are more important than others, and some jobs do provide more for the tribe that others, but all jobs are jobs and do provide something, physical or not. Because of this understanding the individual must be respect their fellow tribe member, see them as an equal, and a brother/sister. Though, the individual is free to see himself as a better within his own mind as long as it isn’t openly stated or shown. Go on and pet your own ego, Gaston.
Solitude and patience are important the tribe. Solitude means secrecy, which is important for the survival of the tribe. Outsiders are looked at with suspicion and are not readily trusted by the tribe. Thus, when an outsider does enter tribe lands the tribe wants them out as soon as possible and will try to keep them away from the capital until they prove they can be trusted. Even then they will not be openly welcomed by the tribe and not invited by tribe wide events and daily times of bonding and feasting.
Patience is greatly needed by the tribe members, especially hunters and those who must travel to the edges of the territory. One must be able to remain patient and wait for opportunity to show itself. It is not uncommon for members to wait for an extended period of time to get a kill, or for them to travel away from their home in order to find food and supplies to bring back to the tribe.
The Ice Tribe has a good relationship with birds and wolves because these creatures can scout out ahead for sick or weak animals then report back to the hunters. The hunters will leave scraps or some meat behind for these scouts after they have taken what they need from the prey.
Goats don't like Ice Tribe because they are very fond of pushing them off the mountains to see if they are able to bounce off the mountain side or the ground like they do when they climb the mountains. So far there are mixed reviews and a lot of angry goats.
▬▬▬ Founding Culture || The survival of the tribe is more important than the survival of the individual. It is a way of life that all members of the tribe must understand and live by. Those who cannot understand and live by the tribe belief are not welcome within the safety of the tribe. Members will not hesitate to chase off those who put their pride and individual survival above that of the tribe. Those who are chased off may return if they can prove themselves.
All must learn that no matter their rank in life, no matter the job they have been given or chosen for, no matter their disability or hardships that all members of the tribe are equal and deserve to be respected. No one member is better than other, though they are free to silently believe so. Go on and be a jerk, Elsa. (Please don’t kill me.)
The tribe finds their entertainment and joy in the nightly feasting where the tribe members come together to feast, chat, tell stories, sing, play games and just bond with one another.
Bonds are also formed through activities such as snowball fights, sledding, floofalo tipping, goat shoving and wrestling.
▬▬▬ Social Structure || At the moment there are 3 ranks within the Ice Tribe. While one the ranks is earned and granted by the Ice Magus, the other 2 are based on the job that the member wishes to follow, or not follow.
▬▬▬ Jarl || Jarl is a title granted to the most honored and or highest ranking members of the tribe, outside the Ice Magus' rank. These are the members that have proven myself through their wits, strength, ability to craft or any other characteristic. Positions such as Warlords, Honored Warriors, Lead Crafter, Scribes, Regional Leaders, Shamans and any other position of honored importance. The title of Jarl can only be granted by the Ice Magus. Any member claiming the title of Jarl when they have not earned it will be punished.
▬▬▬ Karl || Karl is a title that refers to the general members of the tribe. They are the members that work and provide for the pride by being hunters, guards, general merchants, general crafters and many other positions. They are the members who watch over and teach the newer generation the history of the tribe. They are the general working class and the largest population.
▬▬▬ Thrall || Thralls are the members who have been outcast from society for one reason or another. The most common reasons that someone is given the title of thrall is because they have been deemed useless by the tribe, or they have turned their back on the tribe. Outcasts are chased off until they reach uncolonized areas of the ice territory where they must make their home until they are ready to prove they are worthy of being taken back in by the tribe, if ever.

▬▬▬ Ice Tribe Indentured Servants ||Thralls and unwelcomed guests within the Ice Tribe territory may pay off their debts and pay for their crimes by requesting to be an indentured servant. Under the law of indentured servitude the Thrall will then work for the one they committed a crime against, or for whomever Loki or the Head Guard feels it best they work for.
Those who have indentured servants must keep the Thrall fit and healthy. They must provide work, shelter, food and the other basic necessities while the Thrall works as their servant.
Once the debt is paid off the Thrall may then choose to be released or continue working for the other B'alam should an agreement be made between both parties. Should the Thrall choose to continue being a servant to another is it understood that the Thrall may choose to leave at any time they wish. ▬▬▬ The Capture ||Servants may become servants in one of two ways; 1. Plotted capture [i.e a Thrall on the run] 2. Thralls who sell themselves to pay off their debt
It should also be noted that any Ice tribe member found trying to sneak unwelcomed outsiders into the territory also risk being punished or thrown out of the territory.
Captures of Thralls on the run will be work via dice roll. The Thrall and the other B'alam will each roll 3 4-sided die, with each die being rolled individually. The person who wins 2 out of 3 "rounds" will be the winner.
So... Round 1 B'alam: Rolls 1 4-sided die. Lands a 4. Leo chargers at the outsider, attempting to go for the legs.
Outsider B'alam: Rolls 1 4-sided die. Lands a 2. Seth jumps towards the left in an attempt to dodge, but he is just a bit too slow.
Slaver wins = 1 successful take down. Round 2 B'alam: Rolls 1 4-sided die. Lands on 1. Leo spins around and goes for Seth's neck.
Outsider B'alam: Rolls 1 4-sided die. Lands on 3. Seth ducks and slams into Leo's chest.
Outsider Wins = 1 successful take down. Round 3 B'alam: Rolls 1 4-sided die. Lands on 3. Leo has the wind knocked out of him, but he does not back down. With a growl, he charges and attempts to pounce on the outsider.
Outsider B'alam: Rolls 1 4-sided die. Lands on 2. Seth is taken down.
Leo wins. Seth is taken to the Capital to pay for his crimes.

▬▬▬ Climates ||The members of the Ice Tribe are blessed with a layer of blubber and fur that allows them to withstand the harsh climate of the Northern Mountains. However, their blessing is also a curse of sorts. What protects them in their homeland also prevents them from venturing too far from the north. ◘◘◘ Safe Zone ◘◘◘ The Northern Mountains, the safe zone represents the areas and territories where Ice tribe members may travel in comfort. As long as they remain in the safe zone, they need not worry about overheating or becoming ill because the weather suits their needs. ◘◘◘ Tolerable Zone ◘◘◘ The Dark and Light Tribe territories, the discomfort zone represents the areas and territories where Ice tribe members may travel, but doing so may bring about some forms of discomfort due to the warmer temperatures. Those who travel in the tolerable zone may experience slight headaches, a rise in sweating, and or tense/sort muscles. ◘◘◘ Danger Zone ◘◘◘ The Water and Earth Tribe territories, the danger zone represents the areas and territories that Ice tribe members should stay away from. The temperatures in the danger zone are not safe for Ice tribe members to travel and extended stays in such areas can lead to death. Those who choose to travel the danger zone will experience headaches, excessive sweating, muscle weakness, nausea, fatigue, fainting, confusion, hallucination and even death. ◘◘◘ Death Zone ◘◘◘ The Fire, highlighted in red, is as the name says, the death zone. Ice tribe members CANNOT survive in the death zone areas and territories under any circumstances. We repeat, THEY CANNOT SURVIVE IN THE DEATH ZONE. CANNOT. Note:
Earth, Water and Light B'alam can travel the Ice Territory, but with some discomfort due to a lack of natural protection from the cold.
Wind and Dark B'alam may travel the territory, but risk being grounded during storms. Wind B'alam also risk climate related injuries to their winds in extreme cold, an Dark B'alam risk injury to their ears.
Fire cannot survive in the Ice territory, period.

▬▬▬ Ice Season ||The Ice Tribe comes together during the months of December and January to celebrate the three day holiday known as Winters Tide. During this celebration the tribe come together to remember the honor the dead while celebrating hope, new life and good tidings in the new year. The celebration starts at sunset and opens up with the largest feast of the year. There is chatter, singing, story-telling, dancing and general festivities as it is supposed to be a time of memories and joy.
The second day of the festivities is a time for entertainment where the tribe come together to have friendly competitions. Competitions of strength, wit, courage, speed, and other skills are set up. The most popular competition of the day is wrestling where warriors and others whom wish to test their skills particpate in hopes of being titled the Festival Warrior.
During the night of the third day a bon fire is set up to remember the dead. Roars can be heard echoing through the night as they remember the good deeds that the passed have done during their lifetime.
◘◘◘ During this time, the Ice Tribe will be featured as a majority in freebies, raffles, auctions, and events. Customs geared towards the Ice Tribe will take priority and the shop will host in-character roleplaying events that focus on the Ice Tribe.
◘◘◘ Since now the tribe has gathered, this is also their chief breeding season. While tribe members can breed during any time of the year, this is the season where colorists will focus primarily on Ice Tribe B'alam as they are assumed to be gathered at the capital and have a greater chance in reproducing in the safety of their entire tribe rather than out among the outer territories.
◘◘◘ This is also the time of the year where Ice Tribe magus are awakened. If you have collected enough RP's to have your B'alam awakened, this is the season where Ice Tribe Magus conversions take priority.
◘◘◘ Finally, this is the season where the overseeing Magus is within the capital and will oversee colony hearings. During this time, tribe members are welcome to present their requests to create a colony within the Ice Tribe's territory. While applications are always open, most approvals will be given during this time to comply to In-Character events and time frames.▬▬▬ The Sunny Season ||February, March and April are the months that the terrain of the Ice Tribe territory starts to change. The ice and snow start to melt away giving plant life a chance to thrive. It is also the time when more game and wildlife appear in the mountains, which gives the Ice Tribe a chance to collect and store more game, furs, bones and teeth. The sunny weather is also a great time for the Floofalo, who now have more to eat and a widened wandering territory, thought the Floofalo farmers may find that fact pretty annoying.
The sunny weather is a time when members can collect herbs and materials that they cannot normally find during the snowy weather season.
During this time the female members of the tribe will spend most of their time hunting since they are smaller and quicker, which means it is easier for them to travel up and down the mountain. While the females hunt the males spend their time farming and storing what they can before the snowfall starts again.

▬▬▬ Relations ||
◘◘◘ Within the Tribe ◘◘◘ Presently, the Ice tribe only holds bias towards those who have been labeled as Thralls. These members are not welcome within any of the Ice Tribe colonies, and no members are allowed to help Thralls in any manner. Anyone found helping a Thrall will be looked down upon and punished.
◘◘◘ Outside of the Tribe ◘◘◘ Presently, the Ice Tribe have no close allies or enemies. However, they are not overly fond of the Wind Tribe due to the fact that members of the Wind Tribe have a tendency to swoop down and steal items and game from members of the Ice Tribe.

▬▬▬ Beliefs & Traditions ||
◘◘◘ The Grand Weaver ◘◘◘ The Grand Weaver is seen as the greatest of all spirits. A being of benevolence, wisdom, and creativity, he is revered by the tribe. To the Ice Tribe, the Grand Weaver's design is a massive tale, each thread with its own story to tell. Like every mountains rising from the ground, so do the threads stream from the hand of the Grand Weaver.
The journey to discover the world, its tales, and the knowledge hidden in every culture and tribe is the journey to discover the Weaver himself and to better understand the grand design as a whole. Every thread has its part, regardless of its color or shape.
Currently, one of the few things that the tribe will not tolerate is disrespect or blasphemy of the Grand Weaver. He is the source of all things, all tales, and all ties that bind one being to another. To disrespect the Grand Weaver and his design is to welcome his judgement.
◘◘◘ Life and Death ◘◘◘ Life is a very sacred thing. Everything that lives, breathes, grows, and flourishes is a thread in the grand design. The Ice Tribe will grow learning that while death is something that is necessary, it is never something to be sought after or praised. The prey will be carefully selected so strong young animals will thrive while Ice Tribe culls the weak and sick. The parts of the beast will be used in their entirety so nothing goes to waste, in honor of the prey that sacrificed their lives to provide for Ice Tribe.
If war ever shows itself to the Ice Tribe, death will become a necessary thing but it will not be celebrated. (more incoming)
Birth is a reason to celebrate. When the Grand Weaver sees fit to give life to a new totem and bless a family with life it is a glorious thing. Every life is valued and every cub is seen as precious. Abandonment, rejection, and outright death of cubs is the ultimate taboo in the Ice Tribe as it is a firm rejection of the Grand Weaver's first right given to his creation- the right to live.
◘◘◘ Common Name Themes ◘◘◘ The Ice Tribe currently has no set name themes at the movement, though there is a preference for Scandinavian names. While a name is seen as a window into who a person is and what they may be, no member will be looked down upon based on the name given to them.
◘◘◘ Gender Roles ◘◘◘ It is understood that genders are not equal here. They are not equal, but one is no more valuable than the other in any way. They are not equal because males have talents and abilities that females do not have. Likewise, females have talents and abilities that males do not have. They are two different halves to the same whole. Males are often times larger, stronger, and able to focus their minds on one task at a time. Females, in contrast, are more limber, quicker, and able to multi-task their thoughts. Both are valuable, both are needed, and both will be seen as just as important.
Gender discrimination is not part of the Ice Tribe. They celebrate the differences between the two halves of a whole. While the genders themselves are not equal in nature, they are both treated with the exact same respect. There are no tasks suited only to one gender or the other within the Ice Tribe. Female warriors are just as common and welcome as males.
