It wasn’t like she was keeping score or anything, but in all honest Minerva felt weak against the dragons. Maybe her mother had bene right and she should have started with the Ysali instead of the Kiandri. But she’d been reluctant, wanting to prove herself instead of taking the easy way out. She did have one win, so she couldn’t complain much about her chances. She just wished that they were better or that she was better. Her mother had told her it would come with age; she was still young after all. Again, Minerva wanted to do what she wanted to do and not what her mother had told her.
After a day’s rest she’d decided it would be good for her if Minerva went after smaller targets, the problem with this was that fact that every time she did stumble upon a Kiandri it was larger than she actually wanted to take on. So the day continued in the hot dessert with Minerva dismissing dragon after dragon in the hopes of finding something smaller. It didn’t happen; it looked like only the larger ones were out today in the boiling sun. So Minerva picked her target, the smallest of the large dragons she’d found today and attacked.
Having a weapon made things so much easier, her magic seemed more focused, more powerful this way. But even as she began to battle the dragons he knew she could not win this one. So Minerva tried to get away, blasting off Kiandri magic where ever to try and get away. The trick worked and the dragon stopped following her, it wasn’t exactly the best start to the day. Minerva swore she’d do better next time, she had to at this point if she wanted to become more powerful than before.
