Remarque was thankful no one had attempted to issue a curfew. The Negaverse might have pretended like it was fine for the Dark Mirror Senshi to be out, but he still suspected that they'd have jumped him if they'd gotten the chance.
Maybe the years had made him paranoid.
Or maybe he was just finally learning.
Old habits died hard, and even if the Negaverse had tried to put a solid restriction on what he could do, he probably still would have been out tonight. There was nothing as satisfying as taking a walk, looking for trouble. Doing whatever he could to stay on top of things.
Getting outside of town—or, at least, outside of the most heavily populated parts of town made things almost feel like they could be normal. He was walking around as Prince Remarque; ordinarily he might have wanted to lie low, but these days he found it the most effective way to ensure that he wasn't bothered by youma. Perhaps if he had been in a busier area he might have stayed in his Eternal form, but not tonight.
He didn't know if he wanted company or to be left alone, to run into Order or Chaos.
There were energy signatures around, distant and blurred on his radar. He kept walking forward, not taking a particularly conscious path as he walked along the outskirts of the city.
Tonight was just random chance, and he was playing his luck.

It was hard to miss the surge of power. She'd come accustomed to his energy signature, having run into him and worked with his court. It was an energy signature she was pleased to still feel. At least some of her work was working then. She followed the signature for a while before teleporting into an alley way in front of him and stepping out. She pulled her hood down, black and purple hair spilling over her shoulders.
"Prince Remarque," she said to catch his attention. The general gave a nod of her head in respect to his position. A formality really, but one she felt necessary. "It's been a while since the last time I ran into you." She kept her hands visible, kept her tone light. She was a friend of the court, but she was also a general of the Negaverse. He would be right to fear her.
Tonight though, she wasn't making a show of fighting them, or policing them. The general simply wanted to talk with him.

The ability for a Negaverse Agent to teleport was an occasional source of disdain for Remarque, who was simultaneously repulsed by the physical process of teleporting and jealous of their ability to flit around so easily. At least this General he recognized; at least this one he liked.
"Andronicus." He nodded in greeting. He was not as keen on formalities—at least, not this late at night. "It has been some time. I was starting to wonder if the Negaverse had kept too close an eye on you. I was worried they might have gotten to you." He seemed pleased enough, and offered a small smile. "I'm glad to see that's not the case. How have you been holding up?"

"It's been... interesting. They'd like to keep a closer eye on me. I had to circumvent some stricter protocalls for a while. Everyone is incredibly interested to what you're specifically doing, and they're getting suspicious that you seem to do nothing at all." It was hard to keep saying variations of the same thing, when people were incredibly persistent. "That aside, I'm holding up decent. A few people have tried to get me purified which clearly didn't work. I mostly keep my head down and my ears and eyes wide open."
The General gave a shrug of her shoulders, though perhaps her eyes told a more gritty version of what she was telling him. That was either here nor there, though and the woman shook off the mood rather quickly. "What about you? I've heard Leto is... out of her mind now."

Remarque shrugged; he didn't like to hear that the Negaverse suspected him of anything. He played along, pretended as he needed to. Of course, he had sort of just assumed the Negaverse suspected the entire Court of the worst, but he strived to ensure that everyone laid as low as possible. Of course, there were some that went against logic. "Leto's seen better days."
…Much better days. He hadn't seen her in some time, but with the way she was, he didn't miss her. It was better that he wasn't hearing news about her if that meant she wasn't out causing more trouble for the Dark Mirror Court. Even if she thought she was doing what was best for the Court, she was screwing them all over. "I don't suppose you've heard any rumors about what she's up to, have you? I haven't seen her in a while," he admitted.
There were others in the Court that had, but he was rather interested to know what information the Negaverse had about her. Or maybe he just wanted to solidify to someone that she was not acting in a way he deemed appropriate.
