Since Minerva had failed so miserably the first time, she’d decided to return home. Her mother looked worried when she’d returned but was glad to hear she was okay. Her mother suggested actually getting a weapon, perhaps that was she reason she had not been able to get her kill. She was after all Hybrid, and her father had used a weapon just as surely as he used his magic. So Minerva agreed and she went out with her mother to purchase her weapon of choice. The sceptar was an easy choice since she wanted to be a mage, and the shape she chose was that of a necklace.
Then out she’d gone to the dessert again, feeling confident in her abilities to actually take down a dragon this time. It was easier to find the Kiandri this time, and Minerva wasted little time engaging in combat with it. It was tricky at first; she did a lot of rolling and evading trying to figure out how to kill the dragon. Her mother had not taught her how to kill and she doubted very much her mother ever would. Minerva was not blind, she knew her mother studied the dragons and hated that they were hunted.
It took her fifteen long minutes that felt more like an hour before she finally decided to use dark magic. The blast hit the Kiandri on the side, sending it flying into the sand. It did not get up however, and Minerva advanced upon it to make her final kill. She used a lightning bolt to kill the dragon; she did not wait because she did not like to antagonize it. The Kiandri left behind an orb, exactly like the one she’d crushed to become of their clan. Minerva pocketed it and then moved on to her next target.
