Meeting up with anyone while powered was dangerous, but meeting up with someone from another faction? Valhalla knew he was pushing his luck when he requested meeting up with Remarque to see how things were on his side. He’d known the Dark Mirror Senshi for quite some time now, and trusted his intentions.

Even still, for the sake of what was left of his family, Valhalla tried being as cautious as possible, and he made sure their rendezvous was far enough away from the city to hopefully avoid notice from others. For now, he held back the urge to power down. He hated the energy he gave off — it made him jumpy and nervous, and he has not gotten used to it in the past three years.

“Here, I got you some things. It’s not much, but…” Valhalla greeted, shifting a small bag off his shoulder filled with various medical supplies — gauze, generic medicine, bandages. “I didn’t know if you needed anything, so… I just grabbed what I could.” It was from Paris’s supplies, of course, but the fact that he was giving some to the DMC was, well… let’s just say they argued about things more often these days.

Remarque knew he was fortunate to have been in the Dark Mirror Court; while there seemed to be little love between his Court and the Negaverse, at least he didn't have to deal with the worry of being tracked. In a way, he felt bad for Valhalla. He couldn’t just drop the spread of he energy signature like Remarque—currently parading about as only an Eternal senshi—could.

Valhalla was either very brave or very stupid, and in all these years of knowing him, Remarque still couldn’t decide.

"That's very considerate of you," he said, reaching to receive the bag. He didn't necessarily need them, himself, but he would see to it that they were used well. He could think of at least a few members of the Court who would appreciate it—and at the very least, Raven could make sure they were used.

"I was thinking of you, too," he mused, reaching into a pocket and extracting a sizeable stack of well wrapped bills. "I never know what your group needs so I figured," he shrugged, handing it over. "Maybe you could find something useful to do with this."

He seemed nonchalant, like it wasn't a big deal. Maybe Remarque just wasn't interested in getting worked up over things; Valhalla seemed nervous enough for the both of them. "…How are you guys holding up?" he finally asked.

Valhalla stared in surprise when Remarque pulled out the stack of wrapped bills, carefully taking it from him graciously. “Thank you,” he said, nodding in appreciation. “This will help a lot. You really didn’t have to,” he stressed needlessly, knowing Remarque probably would be insulted if he didn’t take it.

As for how they were holding up, Valhalla shrugged uncomfortably, jumping a little as an animal scurried through the underbrush. “We haven’t been wiped out yet,” he stated the obvious. “People go missing everyday… or are killed… or forced to corrupt… They’re trying to make the hospital work more efficiently, but with few trained physicians able to spend all their time there…” He had EMT training, of course, but that was about it.

“Can we power down?” he asked abruptly, jumping once more as a bat or owl or something swooped overhead. “I don’t know how anyone can stand this. I feel like a flare or something,” he tried explaining, although not wanting to do anything to make anything too weird for Remarque.

Remarque watched Valhalla for a moment after the request, trying to process just what was being asked of him. Everything within him told him to laugh and turn away. To tell him that this was some sort of trap.

But, from Valhalla?

Valhalla, who after all these years, had never changed. Who had put his trust in him. Who was meeting him, here, despite all the trouble that could come of this?

"You are," he said after a long moment moment; he didn't blame the man for wanting to power down. "If you feel so inclined," he gestured. "I won't stop you. But if you do, you had best not speak of this to anyone. I like you, Valhalla. But I have a family I have to look after, and I can't afford someone with loose lips endangering them. I'll power down, for you," because it was best not to be on anyone's radar anyway, right? He hated knowing the Negaverse might be out there, tracking his movements.

But he had been careful. There wasn't anyone around. He'd gone through great lengths to ensure that even if someone unpowered had been following them, they wouldn't have been able to follow. He assumed Valhalla had taken equal precautions, but it was hard to trust anyone—even someone he might have considered a friend.

"But that means you're taking on the extra responsibility of taking my identity to the grave. And if anything should happen to me, it means that you make sure they're safe. Got it?"
