Sabina was in a great mood today. She had even spruced up her studio a bit, if only to account for the possible smell that was to come. She had bought and plugged in one of those scented oil things. The floor was shiny after just being cleaned. Somehow, she had managed to find some beautiful yellow daisies that now sat on her small table in a clear vase. Even though she had just cleaned and had the scent of lavender supposedly wafting from the plugin, the studio smelled more like food. It was five in the morning but one couldn't tell if they looked at Sabina. She was full of energy. Unsure of whether to make breakfast or regular food, she had cooked both types. What did Christabelle like? Not having an answer, she prepared for anything. On one side of her counter, she had made skirt steak soft tacos. They had corn, onions, cheese, avocado, sour cream, and tomatoes in them. There was also baked beans and spanish rice for that. The other side held oatmeal, fresh strawberries, milk, and honey to sweeten the oatmeal. She really hoped that it helped make Christabelle happy. This war and the current state of affairs had severely affected some, more so than others. Sabina took one last look at her work before tucking her apron into the oven handle. She had pulled her hair back into a messy bun with floral pins keeping the strays in place. Instead of heels clicking down the steps, her movements were much more quiet with her flat sandals. She wanted to be ready to let Christabelle in as soon as she came, not wanting to let the other woman be out in the open for too long. There was a reason she was in hiding. This early in the morning should be safe though.

It was probably a blessing that she couldn't smell herself. Christa didn't realize how hungry she was until the smell of delicious food. The gray-haired young woman had subsisted on what little food she could scavenge and bathed with rain water falling from rooftops when above ground, and runoff when below. It was a solitary (and very smelly) existence, but Christa believed in the work she was trying to do. The war needed chaplains and the flock needed as much support as it could get. When Sabina had found her, Christa was in her civilian form, hiding from the latest Negaverse raid. They had not suspected her, at least, not yet. Not that she was aware of. Best to keep moving, she told herself, and forbade herself from becoming too comfortable in one place for too long. Sabina's invitation was met with trepidation, wariness, but at last she had relented and a quick series of raps on Sabina's door indicated Christa was outside. Once let in, she ducked her head and profusely apologized. "...I'm afraid I am not worthy of this kindness." she started, gesturing to her filthy clothing that had not been properly washed in a long time. "But I thank you for it nonetheless. What is it I may do for you in return, Sabina...?" The senshi-in-disguise had kept her voice low due to years of paranoia. How long had she been gone since her brother's death? Time was a fickle mistress. Sushi Surfer Sankyu kindly, my dear! ;;

Sabina did not even flinch or make a face at the smell that followed Christabelle. Poor girl couldn't help it with the way she lived. While Sabina could live in luxury, as in an actual structure with real food on a regular basis, a lot of others could not. Many had their civilian identity compromised and others stayed in their powered forms to help as much as possible with healing or fighting. Instead she welcomed Christa in with a smile. Unfortunately, Sabina did not move forward to hug the girl as she normally would for a female ally. That would wait till after she had a bath. "You're welcome sweetie. No worries, you don't have to pay me back. All my kindness is free for any ally. This is how I do my part in...this." She was about to say war but did not want to swing the subject in that direction. "Let's go upstairs, I've got food waiting for both of us and I don't know about you, but I'm hungry." She offered Christa a kind and understanding smile that shone through her eyes. "Follow me sweetie." Sabina was young too but the war had made her older mentally. Upstairs, she pulled out a chair and sat in the other one. "I often make food for others so it's no biggie. And I was totally not sure what to make so you can pick what you feel like eating. Personally, I need some breakfast." She put a plate and a bowl in front of Christa with a wink. "In case you want both." Then she spooned oatmeal and strawberries into her own bowl, smothered it with honey, poured herself some milk and sat back down.

In the years since the war started, Christa had hoped it would never come to this. But here they were, hiding in plain sight for those that were lucky, hiding in the shadows for those that weren't. Christa wasn't adapted well to civilian life anymore with her family dead and gone. She found herself drawn back to the battles time and time again without so much regard for her own personal safety, food and shelter. She had to provide for others before providing for herself. Once food had been placed before her -- good, real food -- all thoughts of the war had flown out the window. She went to the counter and scooped up everything she could because this could be her only good meal for a week or more, she had to keep up her strength. "Thank you, Sabina." came a murmur. "It's things like this that remind me there is still good in the hearts of people. They're just misled." If only they had known the truth. Perhaps there was still hope for that. Once she had devoured the oatmeal she had gathered, Christa took a moment to breath again. "Sabina... what do you think of all this? Honestly, do you think we would be where we are now?"

Sabina could only watch with a slight smile on her face as Christa made herself some food. The girl could definitely put on more weight. Keeping themselves healthy was a key to winning this war. There was no way they could win if a bunch of starved and mentally unstable senshis and knights took on the well-armed and fed Negaverse. She knew that and that was why she was always taking people in. Plus it pushed her buttons that people were forced to live like this. It was hard enough with just regular homeless people. Now half or even more, were homeless, forced to flee the city or live in hiding. It was just wrong. She got mad just thinking about it and she accidentally stabbed a strawberry straight through with her spoon out of anger. Get it together Sabina. You have a guest. "You are so very welcome." What she said after thanking her really made Sabina smile. "I'm glad I could be that reminder." Her next questions made Sabina lean back. She put her spoon down and gave Christa a serious look. "I think that's a whole lot of if's, and's, or but's. Right now, all we can do is remain positive and not let go of that hope that we will win. The moment you give up is when you let them win." Sabina had often thought about this too. It only strengthened her belief in the White Moon senshi and knights, like her. "I belief that we can save some but not all. That is the price of any war. The thing we can never do is let them control our thoughts and emotions, they are our own. They can never take away my happiness unless I give it to them. That is how I can smile even as Negaverse come knocking on my door. They will never defeat us so long as we keep fighting back. Christa, you must never let them get to your head or your heart." The smile that lit her face reflected her words. Her eyes shined with belief, in herself and her allies.

Christa couldn't help but chuckle quietly to herself. Not at Sabina, but with her. The gray-haired senshi-in-hiding kept an eye on the doors and windows as they were discussing these very private, and very dangerous, subjects, but there was an air about Sabina, and unbreakable will. Christa admired that about her. "I absolutely agree with you. Unflinching. We should be unflinching." she started, telling her stomach that it needed to make room for the additions that would come its way. She had to stock up as much as possible before returning to the field, for Sabina was right - one could not tend to the weary or fight a war on an empty stomach. "That is why I continue. I have to do it, because the people of Earth have been deceived. Because they took my brother from me, and he would never have given up. Even if the only way I can continue to fight is by hiding in the sewers, I do what I must. We won against them once, back thousands of years ago. We can do it again." She said it with much conviction, as if Christa herself had been alive for the sealing of Queen Metallia by Queen Serenity. She could only imagine what a melancholy yet glorious victory it would have been. "It will just take some time, some concentrated efforts. Ida is already on the frontlines with her hospital. Lord knows how many she's saved just by that act alone. So long as some hope remains, the rebellion will never be crushed. We simply have to keep going, and it is efforts like yours, Sabina, that allow us to do so." She took a few more bites from the seconds of oatmeal before clearing her throat in embarrassment. "Sorry, I... didn't mean to go on a tangent like that."

Sabina felt very relaxed after eating breakfast and talking with Christa. Here was an ally with a strong belief in their cause and a willingness to fight. That is exactly what they needed. "Unflinching. I like that word." Christa was strong, so very strong for what she did. There was so much respect for her. What she really wanted to do was wrap everyone up and tell them everything would be alright and give them peace. That way young women like Christa wouldn't have to fight a war, families weren't torn apart. Everything that Christa said, she agreed with. "No need to apologize. It makes me happy to know we have someone with so much passion fighting for our side. Every little thing counts. And on that note, I have a towel and some clean clothes set out for you. I'm not sure if they'll fit properly but I guessed based on when we first met. Just some jeans and a shirt, nothing fancy." There was also three different scented body washes and different dove shampoos and conditioners. Sabina believed that one could never be too prepared. She had also left out tweezers and a razor because, well, she couldn't imagine one could groom much on the run. She'd let Christa decide what she wanted to do.

The gray haired one nodded, slowly, to Sabina. "Yes. Unflinching. Whatever dangers we may face, we must not falter. It's a difficult task and it would be unfair to hold everyone to that standard. I only hold myself to it." Christa had found that holding others to her standards, at first, led to nothing but disappointment. However, as she grew in her powers, she understood that people are individuals and not everyone was equipped to complete the same tasks as everyone else. Their tasks must be suited to their abilities so they could not only excel, but raise morale for others in their success. It was a difficult balancing act, one that Christa felt she'd always be learning and never quite master. With a sigh, Christa bowed her head to Sabina and made to put the dishes in the sink. "Thank you. I... can't imagine I smell too pleasant right now. I'll try not to take too long. I don't know what the water situation is like these days." Her house had long been abandoned and, for fear of losing her vigilance in the war, never went back to see it. She was afraid of the memories it might bring up more than anything else, more than being attacked by Chaos itself. If she went back, she may never return to the battlefield ever again. It was then that she retreated into the shower, peeling off old clothes thick and sticky with sweat and heat and old, dingy water. Even something as simple as that was refreshing, but the shower water, though lukewarm, was divine. She didn't even bother to wait for it to heat up, for it was warmer already than the runoff of rain. Soon, she smelled better than she had in ages, shaving hair she didn't like from places that made moving uncomfortable. Christa hoped she didn't take too long and waste too much water but it was difficult to get out of the shower once everything had been washed. Maybe a half hour later, the young woman emerged from the shower sporting clothing a little too small in places, but she was nevertheless eternall grateful. "...thank you. So much. I wish I could repay you for this kindness, Sabina. Tell me what I can do."

Sabina set about cleaning up as Christa showered. It was nice when friends came over. That's what all her allies were, friends, even if she didn't know that much about them other than that they were fighting on the same side in this war. A strong bond as allies would be a great help in winning. There were no thoughts of losing in her mind, only winning. For that was the only future she could see. One where they were not slaves to this madness or consumed by the Chaos. She didn't want to take all the warm water from Christa, so she quickly rinsed the empty plates and left them to soak in the sink. The leftover food was moved to the fridge. Sometimes, Sabina made too much on purpose on the off chance that someone would be visiting with an empty stomach. Then it didn't look too suspicious, the amounts of food she bought. If it looked like she always had friends over or was always feeding her customers, it wouldn't raise any flags, or so she hoped. It would be devastating if she were found out and her bookstore destroyed. She shook her head. Such negative thoughts were not good. When Christa came out, Sabina couldn't help frowning. The clothes looked like it didn't quite fit right. "I'm sorry. I guess my guessing wasn't so on it." She smiled up at the young woman. "You can repay me by not giving up. Continue fighting for what is right. Also, please refer any friends and allies to me should they need anything." Sabina gave in to the urge and hugged Christa. "Don't be a stranger. Should I ever find myself in trouble, I may call on you for help, so please keep your strength up. I'll know where to look for you. We are friends now right? So just consider this a friend helping another friend out." She pulled back with a grin of pure joy. Lucifer Force Sorry for the late reply!
