The Corrupt Senshi was lost.
Not physically lost. Despite not knowing much about himself any more, he still remembered this city, and he could wander around it without much thought, and never have to worry about ending up some place he did not know. From the rooftops, he could see anything he needed to navigate by, and he could always make it back to where Painite had set him up for a home.
She told him it was his place, but he had no proof of that. She might have taken it from someone, killed them and moved him in, or maybe it was actually her house. He was not sure, and he did not ask questions. He just slept there when he was not out and about.
For now, he was walking slowly and looking around for any White Moon auras or dangers. He was ready for a fight, and really, he thought it would be a good change of pace. Today had been very slow and boring. He had not managed to find anything useful, no other Corrupt Senshi with any information about him or if he would ever remember anything.
No one knew him. So no one could tell him anything about himself.
Maybe it was better that way.

Grus left the donation center with a wane smile and a wave to her Negaverse Agent coworker. As soon as she was out of sight of her "friend" however, her smile disappeared, and her shoulders slumped as if she were carrying a great weight upon them. The Corrupt Senshi started for her new home, wrapping her arms around themselves for warmth.
She hadn't been corrupted for more than a year, but time seemed to slow down for Grus. She wasn't sure just why she was always in a somber mood. While her senshi memories remained mostly intact, her civilian life before being corrupted was gone to her. Grus figured that something horrible had happened to her, and lead to her joining the side of Chaos. None of the agents would tell her what happened either. She didn't have a handler per say. Most Corrupt Senshi did, but because she worked at the Donation Center and was under Negaverse supervision pretty much all day, they felt that she didn't need someone to look out for her.
The Eternal Senshi felt a familiar aura, and her heart shivered. Someone she knew was nearby, someone that made her ache. Despite the throb, she sought out the Corrupt nearby.

Chaonis felt another Corrupt senshi coming toward him, and he turned his head in that direction. He saw her before long, but of course, he did not recognize her. For the most part, he never recognized anyone. He was not sure if that bothered him or not.
He supposed he might as well say hi, and he walked toward her.
Other Corrupt Senshi made him feel a bit more at ease. Around Negas he was shut off and stubborn, save Painite, and around the White Moon he knew only to attack and kill. The Dark Mirror were not to be trusted explicitly, as they worked for their own goals and not the goals of the Negaverse. Corrupt Senshi were just like him, and he wanted that comfort, that feeling like he did belong somewhere, in some small way. He could not explain it, and didn't really want to.
"Hello," he said blandly, when he got close enough. He tilted his head at her, looking her over and thinking he might have known her once upon a time. He had no proof of that in his empty mind, but there was always a chance.
He found he did not know what else to say, so he folded his arms over his chest and watched her for a moment, making a face that was very reminiscent of the kind of impatient look he would make when he was on the White Moon's side of things.

Chaonis approached her; Grus kept her face bland as she struggled within. She was feeling upset again; the anxiety that was now a part of her life left her shivering in her red boots.
When he spoke, she briefly locked eyes with him, black gloves wrapped around one another.
"Hello." she said, dropping her eyes to her fuku, which she began to straighten with intense concentration. Chaonis confused her; she remembered knowing him as a senshi before, but why he set off her anxiety was beyond her knowledge. Her blue eyes flickered upwards at him again as she ran out of wrinkles to smooth in her outfit.
"How come your wandering out alone?" she asked. Everyone knew Chaonis belonged to Painite, and she rarely saw one without the other. Immediately she berated herself. He probably didn't even know her name! And here she was, asking him a personal question!
"I-i'm...Grus, by the way" she said, slightly stammering, tugging at part of her hair. It was longer than when she was part of the white moon. The buns were slightly bigger to accommodate the increase, but the loose ends still hung down to her waist, and the bangs to her chin.
Not that either of them remembered what it looked like before.

"Painite told me to come out here and find some senshi to kill for her. I'm supposed to show her how I can work on my own, and I guess prove what I'm worth. I don't really care about it, though. I think she'll keep me either way." He grunted and shrugged his shoulders.
Though he had forgotten who he was, a lot of his old mannerisms remained. He was stubborn and proud, and while he was doing his best to appease his handler, he was not sure he wanted everyone knowing and thinking he was a hopeless case. He was still his own person, right?
Even if he did not know who that was?
"Grus," he repeated, and something stirred. His damaged mind told him that he knew the name, somehow, but it failed to draw the lines between her and a slew of memories and images that suddenly flashed up in his mind. He blinked at her for a moment.
"I think I've met you before," he finally said, though he couldn't be sure that was true. "You're corrupted, just like me. Maybe we knew each other before, when we were both... not corrupted. Painite didn't tell me your name, but she only knew a couple of the people I knew before. And I'm supposed to kill them if I see them."
She was just like him, though, fighting for the Negaverse because she no longer had a choice in the matter. So that made her safe from anything he could do to her. He doubted he had it in him to hurt her, anyway.

Grus's heart leapt into her throat when he said he was supposed to kill people he knew before. Was she on that list? Was that why he was talking to her right now!?
She took a step backwards. "We...have met before." she said hesitantly, "I'm pretty sure when we weren't.." her hand covered the black hole in her chest "like this. I remember your name.."
Her heart hammered with anxiety as flashes of memories flickered through her brain. None of them made sense. Her hand went from her chest to her temple, and she rubbed it in small circles.
"Sorry" she said with a wane smile. Her blue eyes were dull with sadness, a strange contradiction to her expression. "Sometimes I think the memories try to force themselves back into my brain, but something stops them so only little parts make it through." The whole ordeal always left her with a small headache. She concentrated on Chaonis's hair, which was strangely short while the ache went away.
"I thought all Corrupted Senshi had long hair." she said, tilting her head to one side in confusion. "Or did yours just not grow?" He wasn't attacking her now that she admitted that they knew each other way back when.
That was a good sign.

"I wish my memories would do that. They kick at the back of my head sometimes, and I get flashes... or I can feel or hear or smell something that seems familiar in some way, but I can't... place it."
He grumbled a bit with that.
There were things and people he wanted to remember, but his mind shut down when it seemed to start walking down that path. Memory lane, so to speak. But he at least knew there was something there. He wanted to remember, though he was sure it would change how he viewed things. His ability to listen to Painite and follow orders.
But maybe that would be a good thing.
They seemed to be in the same boat, and that made it much easier to talk to her. He found himself opening up to her and just making conversation a lot easier than he had with anyone else, so far, except maybe that little corrupt senshi at the donation center before. But even then, though he had wanted to talk to her more, she had not been much help. This time, at least he was getting something out of the conversation as much as he was trying to put in.
"I cut it off. It looked stupid when it grew out. I hate these stupid little wings, too, but I can't do anything about that, I guess. You wear all of that a lot better than I do. The long hair and the wings. Anyway, do you think we were friends before? I feel like I don't want to attack you and talking is pretty easy..."
Two memory challenged senshi trying to figure something out. It might take a lot of effort, but he at least felt like he was in good company, somehow.

Grus nodded, knowing what he was going through. It was disorienting, not having a civilian life the way that the Negaverse agents did. She never powered down; this was really her only form. She knew she must have friends or even family out there, somewhere.
But even if she dared to look, it isn't as if she'd recognize them.
When he said he cut it off, Grus twisted the middle of one of her strands. "I think it looks good the way it is." she said, and blushed at his compliment. "I don't care for the wings either. I've seen a White Moon senshi once...when they brought her in for interrogation. She had pretty white wings on her back..." Oh how she had envied those wings. They looked soft, and beautiful. Her bat wings were leathery and frankly, gross. "Thanks though..for what you said."
Her usually bummed out demeanor was changing slightly. There was a bit of happiness in her eyes. This was someone she could relate to. Someone she knew, even if only in fragments.
"Maybe we were friends." she said, wrapping her arms around themselves. "It's nice to think that I had friends at one point. I don't feel the need to attack you either; but then again, I'm not really much of a fighter. It tends to make me feel ill." She chuckled despite her feeling of failure over the fact.

Chaonis watched her, and nodded his head.
He realized, for the first time since awakening into this new 'life' of his, that he felt rather calm and at peace. Almost happy? He was not sure he knew what that felt like. He had a limited number of ways he existed, so to speak. He was either serious and focused, waiting for an order from his handler, or violent and serious, carrying out those orders. Relaxed and not serious were foreign.
The questions he felt inside him, too, were increasing in frequency, but even those were not a particularly positive feeling or state of being. This was the first time he felt almost human.
Or was reminded that he could be human.
"I think we were," Chaonis confirmed, and he watched her with an almost gentle expression now, his dark eyes struggling to find her familiar, his cloudy mind desperately wanting to. He wanted something to hold on to, some tie to his old life. Oddly, this Senshi, who had been corrupted and stolen from her life just as he had been from his, could be that tie.
"You better hope no one comes looking for a fight, then," he said with a shake of his head. In his life, there was only fighting. "If they do, and I'm around, I'll help you. I think we should stick close. I get an... important feeling." He did not know how to phrase it, and had never been good with words, anyway. But Grus mattered. He wanted to keep track of her now, and that meant helping and protecting her if she needed him to. Even if Painite didn't say so.
