The camp he had discovered was in fact rather boring. There was no action here, there wasn't any battles going on or scouting that he had been allowed to join in. So he was sitting in camp looking as brooding as possible as well stoic. He had an image to uphold after all, and if word got back to his father that he had been in camp and hadn't actually been serious about what was going on it could prove troublesome when he got home.

So while he was here he played the stoic pretty boy who did as he was told. It ended up with him doing things he would much rather not do, like tending to the wounded or helping with setting up tents and traps. The traps at least were interesting but he felt that this was just a waste of time. How long were they going to stick around this place doing nothing but biding their time?

Still he was having a break, the sweat gathering on his brow was lessening with each passing day as he got use to the climate but it was still unbearably warm. When would something interesting happen?

The camp was something completely different to the young noble. To her, it was freedom, fun, a chance to see new things. Naevius was enjoying every day at camp even though there were plenty of social obligations. Despite those obligations, she had found plenty of time to explore and meet new people. When she walked out of her tent that hot day, Nae wondered what all would happen.

She knew the soldiers were getting somewhat restless. They wanted to finish the job and she could understand that. It just led to a lot of the soldiers being so much more irritable and therefore not entirely proper for her to be around, or so she was urged from several others.

So Naevius had decided to just wander the tents and see if there was anything new or different. It didn't take her long to notice a new face. Her head cocked slightly to the side. Of course she didn't know everyone in camp, but she liked to think she knew most everyone. This just meant she needed to meet him! Approaching him slowly, as she looked somewhat upset, she stopped a few feet away. "It's really hot here isn't it?" She spoke first as she wasn't sure if her presence had been noticed.

Nkole looked up from his work a brief moment he looked crossed until he noted it was a woman, he had seen her about the camp before but had never actually spoken with her. His attitude changed dramatically putting on a friendly face for the girl. After all he couldn't let his image disintegrate just because he was being forced to do hard labor here.

"Ah yes, its a lot muggier than it is back home isn't it." He replied using a free hand to fan himself to indicate that he certainly agreed with her. Wondering what business she had with him. Did she notice his family crest? He did make it a point that the sheathed dagger was on his hip at all times and clearly visible to those around him. Although he heard a lot of snickering about it, he didn't care. It was given to him by his father and it signified his importance in family lineage.

Nkole had to wonder if his father himself would come down to lead the next assault against the people of Jahaur. Somehow he doubted he would come...but if he did he was going to be sure that he was working hard so that no bad words could come back to his father.

"I am sorry, I got lost in my thoughts..my name is Nkole." He introduced himself after a bit of an awkward pause.

The other seemed pretty lost in his thoughts even after she spoke to him. It made Naevius wonder what he was thinking about? Was he wishing to go home? Ready for another battle? Thinking of his family or perhaps a girlfriend? That was pretty personal for Nae to think about, she didn't even know him! She was just being curious was all. Nae knew to keep these questions to herself though so she just smiled and nodded when he answered her.

After a short awkward moment, he introduced himself as Nkole. That name sounded familiar but she couldn't quite place it. In any case, she decided to treat him as someone important, as she tried to do with everyone so they felt appreciated, which they were especially if they were here. "It's nice to meet you Nkole, I'm Naevius." She let her name speak for itself and waited a moment before continuing. "It's easy to get lost in your thoughts here, isn't it? Even in the camp its quieter than at home. It's kind of uneasy at times." The quietness, or relative quietness, at night spooked her sometimes and made the hair on the back of her neck rise. And even though she was in the middle of the Oban army, she had to wonder 'what if?' This was the natives' land, they knew it better than they did. Nae mentally shook herself, that was no way to think. "May I sit?" She asked him, gesturing to the little bit of space next to him.

Naevius? The name rang a bell in the back of his head but he couldn't place it just this moment, not in this humidity and with him sweating like a filthy animal. Still it was better to gather comrades in arms, you didn't make friends in this world but rather tools you could use later on.

"Please go ahead, I was just wondering when this war was going to proceed is all." He mused offering her still a warm smile as he used a free hand to wipe the sweat away from his brow. Not that he was in any rush to shed blood, but he wanted to get back to looking for his sister and quite possible going to home.

"Tell me how a lovely lady like yourself ended up here? " Nkole asked as his mind furiously tried to remember why this name seemed so familiar to him.

Naevius smiled slightly at him as it occured to her that he didn't quite seem to know who she was. She could have fun with that...but that would be kind of mean so she ruled against it. Sitting down next to him, she smiled as he asked his question which seemed to confirm her suspicion. "My father sent me here, though I was happy to come. My father has a prominent beast taming business back home and my second cousin, the King, wanted my father to come and take care of the animals here and keep an eye on things. My father is much too busy to be bothered here so I was sent instead." She fed it to him easily even though she hated throwing around who she was. It was better that she do it this way than him find out later and feel the fool.
