With the news talking about people passing out at seemingly random the blue and white clad senshi had taken to trying to find out the cause. He wasn't one for violence, never had been, but he had to find out what was going on! People he knew online were talking, speculating, but he was sure none of those things were true. He just had a feeling it had to do with the war and not the government or some illness, new or otherwise, and so he had powered up and taken to walking the city roof tops as he sought any Captain or Lieutenant signature he could find. He didn't want to come into contact with a General, too much risk to his life for his liking. He was alone and he was not stupid, he couldn't get away from a General if he wanted to - not when they could teleport.
With no one at his side he would not seek out a General and was glad his powers could distract a General long enough he could call for help, his phone was already in a pocket of his uniform. He was prepared just in case he had a run in with a General, after all they could sense him before he could sense them; and come after him.
Stopping as he landed on a roof top he paused to glance about, green eyes looking around. He was thirsty, how long had he been out? Pulling out his phone and checking the time told him that he'd been out for nearly two hours. No wonder I'm thirsty. He thought to himself before wondering if he should get down and power down so he could find a place to get a drink, it was a good idea. Was he safe though? He couldn't sense certain people, and yet they could sense him, did he want to risk it? Yeah.

Stay low, stay hidden, and keep to himself. Honestly, nothing all that different from what Pollux had been doing years prior. His contacts were limited, and with his lovely sibling's recent 'polite re-introduction' to Chronos had gone over so wonderfully well, Pollux was having to play politic on behalf of his brother. It was all very familiar. And annoying as he recalled it being. Jumping roof to roof was like riding a bike. You never really forgot. Plus having kept on on physical training helped. Landing on a small business, the senshi of frost looked for any bodies nearby- friendly or not. Information was information. And he needed it from whomever could provide. It was his luck though, that what appeared to be a senshi wasn't to far away. "Ei, tu. Tipo." His Italian was automatic, pausing when he realized that he'd fallen to his recent habit. "Senshi."

He had sensed the presence also and stilled, just before he'd been going to start moving again. Whoever it was, he only knew they were on par with him level wise, was headed his way. At least it wasn't an encounter with someone who would want to bring harm, or death, to him.
Keeping still he turned, this way and that, the brooch at the center of his chest glowed a faint blue color causing the dark haired senshi to stand out. Shifting his weight he turned again as if trying to figure out which direction this senshi was coming from. Would this be one of the few senshi he knew? Not likely, he knew so few, as the odds were very much against it. So he waited to see who he would meet tonight, nerves rising to the surface as he began toying with the piercings in his bottom lip, his fingers toying with the sleeves of his uniform. Fingers rose and moved through his hair, useless as the action was, as he sought to brush the dark hair from his face only for it to flop back into place.
While some might say he should cut it, it was too long or that it got into his face, he was fond of the style. Maybe another style but never a cut, nothing extreme anyway, it wasn't long enough to be some issue like that corrupted super senshi he'd met. That senshi's hair had to be an issue, getting pulled by people or snagged with things. No, so long as his hair wasn't an issue it wouldn't be getting cut. Shaking his head he shifted again and turned his green eyes in another direction, for the third or fourth time. They'll be here soon. He thought; and yet he couldn't see them yet.

Pollux rolled his eyes, jumping towards the other senshi, arms crossed and looking more than slightly annoyed. "Tipo." He said again, purposely laying on the accent. "You trying to get yourself killed or are you trying to get yourself killed?" The click of his boots on the rooftop echoed only a slight bit in the open air, "Who are you and of what power? Who do you answer to?" Pollux snapped his fingers even. "Come on chop chop haven't got all day you know. Places to be, people to kill- Chaos doesn't hunt itself."

Turning toward the new arrival he seemed a touch surprised, he hadn't expected them to come from that direction, and stared wondering just what they;'d said. The accent was thick but he hadn't an honest clue what they'd said, language wasn't his thing - he'd skipped out on taking one. "N-no...I've already almost been killed a few times actually." he started before he wondered if he should mention by whom he'd almost been killed. "Psycho General and a roof top...and another with a spear. I'm not fond of the idea of dying. If it wasn't for luck...and Tsui I'd have already been dead by either of them, though Tsui has scars from the one with the spear." Not after those encounters, both had left an impression on him - of not dying. He would use his power and attempt an escape if he could. As he continued his babbling he couldn't really stop himself. "Tsui's the senshi of tigers...I've been living with her actually.." And finally he found the ability to stop his nervous babble, for the moment anyway.
Surprised by the others hurried speech and demand for answers he found himself backing up a few paces. his own shoes made little to no sound, thankfully. "Chaldene, will'o'the wisp. And answer to...no one I suppose. I didn't know we had to answer to anyone." Did they? he hadn't been told that by Tsui nor Regulus or anyone else, not even Sheena who had awakened him and powered him up. Was he missing some sort of memo here? "P-people to kill?" he knew he was stuttering and stumbling, terribly, as he spoke but it was a problem he'd always sort of had.
"Umm...who are you?" Should he even ask that? Would it be answered? or would the other senshi snap his head off, verbally or physically.

PHe wasn't sure if this kid was just new or just no one was really teaching the senshi anything and he was guessing it was that no one was teaching the senshi anything. "Tipo..." Rubbing his fingers to his temple, Pollux sighed and shook his head. "One- be on guard and on point at all times when powered up. Had I been an agent you'd be dead at best, possibly corrupted, or at worst, your starseed devoured and thus your entire home sent to die. When you power up be alert." He stalked closer, frustration evident in his posture. "Two I don't care about your little experiences. I asked for a name, a power, and who you have an allegiance to, who's your boss. White moon? One of the other Royals? Zodiacs? Free agent? No Team? Time is valuable and you're wasting it and mine." "Pollux, Senshi of Frost, Brother of Prince Castor. And yes- Killing. The thing we're supposed to be doing?" The senshi of frost just stared wondering if he was just on edge, or, he had taken his day's stress out on the other senshi. Relaxing after a deep breath, Pollux held his hand out. "I don't like the idea of one of our own being such an easy target."

He'd been learning, albeit slowly, but violence and him just hadn't mixed well. Having a loud, drunken lush, of a father sort of ensured that certain things bothered him. Violence, crashing of things, and such had bothered him because it meant a volatile father who wasn't safe to be around - as he'd found out in a small way. he was lucky his father hadn't actually decided to treat him as he often did the furniture when he was drunk and upset about something; the man was a pathetic mess.
"O-of course. I'll remember to be more alert. I have no boss or team. I wasn't aware we needed one. I'd say free agent...umm I just wind up dealing with others by chance..I've never met a royal, though I've heard of two princesses. I don't know about zodiacs at all. Tsui is more hands on really with training, not big on the verbal lessons and information." Though she, knowing his past, knew it wasn't the best thing for him. It was something he knew he should work on, he had to really if he wanted to survive and he did. he didn't like the idea of friends, like Tsui, going out on there own or risking themselves more for him.
Taking the offered hand he shook for a moment before his hand withdrew. "It's ok...I'm not much for fighting, but I don't want to let the few friends I have down either. I just..." Shaking his head he started in on his usual nervous habit of toying with his lip piercing. "My father is a lush, to be blunt, and was known to be loud...violent with furniture, and such...so fighting and violence hasn't ever been my thing." He would hide up in his room till his father was passed out and then come down to handle the messes. "So killing and violence...I'm only just getting used to the violence thing and accepting it. I'm just glad my own magic isn't violent." That would have bothered him as a new senshi when he was still living at home, dealing with his rather vocal father. "Your brother...is a prince...I didn't know we had a prince. I don't think Tsui even knows that...If he's big on the fighting thing, like you seem to be, they'd likely get on well...Umm she's very hands on and enjoys a good fight - even with that General with the spear who scared her. She told me he made a youma...crushed the the starseed and the person, another officer, became a youma." He hadn't seen the youma though and wasn't sure he wanted to. Tsui had told him about it and left little out and it was enough to keep him from ever wanting to corrupt. Why join a side that was that dark and...scary. It was obvious, blindingly so, that he respected Tsui and was close to her. He had moved in with her when she'd found out about his father, he still lived with her infact; as he occupied her living room couch.

"You need one." Was Pollux's quick assessment. "A senshi with sub pair training and no aid is a walking target. Only those who have the confidence and abilities to go alone should." Sizing the guy up, Pollux figured he might as well attempt to help. It was more his brother's area, and his failings with being 'nice' or rather personable. "....." Listening though, it was becoming more and more clear that this senshi, and others needed not just direction, but knowledge of what they were fighting. Not to mention he could see what violence would be an issue with this one in particular. "I'm afraid you won't end up having the luxury of being able to avoid fighting or violence. Those of chaos will kill you at best- they will corrupt you, devour you and destroy you if you don't stand and face them. It's not a matter of being pro-violence, it's a matter of the fact that we are in a war. That we have to be proactive in order to prevent the forces of Chaos from taking everything good and leaving nothing but destruction in it's wake." Motioning for the senshi to follow him off the roof and one the streets Pollux jumped down, a small scattering of frost forming underfoot before melting away as quickly as it had formed. "Youma are made from starseeds- the equivalent of a person's soul. When that starseed if filled with so much corruption it becomes the monsters we know as youma. At that point there is no hope to save that starseed. The person it was taken from is dead and gone." There was a graveness in his voice. "Making a starseed, a person into a youma is the same as crushing it, devouring it- That person is gone. Forever. Normally, as I am told, starseeds go through rebirth cycles. It why we have past lives. Memories of who we were before. At that point the only salvation we can offer is death." He looked at Chaldene. "Does that help clarify why we must kill them? Why violence is the unfortunate answer?"

"A team...i need one?" He asked while he admitted it would be helpful he wasn't sure how that would go. Who could he work with? He knew very few people involved in this fight, and it wasn't often that he even powered up though it was becoming more often. He was getting used to powering up and wandering the city. He was accepting, slowly, the fact he might have to get involved in a fight and help others and back them up. He'd even deal with others using violence against Negaverse officers in front of him, that took time to accept but he did now.
Nodding his head at the others words he had heard them before, he knew it was true. It was just hard to accept. Could he hurt someone? Could he raise a hand to another? he'd done it and he had felt guilt over it. Could he do it again? Would he feel guilt each time over it? He hoped not. if he had to do it he hoped he didn't suffer guilt over it, he didn't need it. He understood that the Negaverse was bad but what were they working toward? Were senshi and knights just out there to stop them,? or was there some goal there also? These were the big things he didn't know. He hadn't asked anyone and perhaps that was a big problem of his.
Following the other senshi down onto the street he listened to the others words, his full attention on the other as he spoke. So the starseed was like a soul. he'd always figured a soul to be some name given to nothing - absolutely nothing but some figment of a persons imagination. "I don't have any memories from mine...I've not gone to my home moon either. I was told once how to but I've yet to.
"I just don't understand who started this war and what the goals are of both sides. I mean what do we do, if anything, aside from stop the Negaverse...from what? do they want world domination? I mean why don't police, military, or anyone else handle them? They are vaunerable to guns and other things just as anyone else. It seems impossible that everything is so blind to dealing with them save for us...and once we're done with them then what? We all go our own ways." There had to be more to this, right? Things he didn't know or understand. it couldn't be so..simple and lacking right?

"Allow me to give you a very simple version-" Pollux picked at his gloves. "Chaos consumed energy- like a parasitic bug it implants itself in a host and uses that host to feed itself and grow. It seeks out new hosts to reproduce in a way. It's a parasite that once it has taken all the energy it can, will move on. Order seeks to stop this dine dash and destroy cycle. Some senshi hunt chaos for revenge, more personal reasons as you can guess. Others do it because if they don't they will be consumed like other others." An old scar on his hand, he frowned, thinking back on it. "The negaverse uses human hosts and what does a parasite do? Remain undetected. You shouldn't be surprised by the lack of civilian backlash; they seek those who would aid their cause in more than one way. They have the benefit for being able to do so. Senshi however, do not. We're born this way. You cant force people to be born a certain way. They can- that's what they do. That's why they corrupt." Pollux kept walking, doing his best to explain. "You think like an idealist. Be a realist. You were born into a war and your enemy has nigh unlimited resources. You want a complex answer?" He shrugged. "You should visit your home world for that one."

He had talked to Regulus about working with him, helping, but was that a team? he didn't think so. it was more like them agreeing to work together when they were out at the same time and ran into each other - right? Stopping his thoughts he focused on the others explanation and nodded his head once to the words being spoken. "Once it's taken everything it move son? It certainly doesn't leave those of the Negaverse...so how do you mean that part? The rest makes sense and is...disturbing if not a bit gross - thinking of real parasites and such." he explained in that sort of sheepish, nervous, manner of his. Why did the other do this? Why did Pollux hunt down chaos and kill it? He knew he did it neither for revenge nor so it didn't consume him. He did it to help others, to protect others, and to save himself when needed. There was no anger or hate fueling him when he did get involved.
"So they are like...big brother in hiding? He questioned, not at all liking the sound of that. It bothered him in some profound manner. he didn't like the idea of a big brother anything. He fought against such a thing online and had this big brother, of sorts, gone unnoticed by him? By others like him? Should he point a spot light on it? Could he even? "I'm sure we have resources...or can. I mean I can't offer much but I am good on a computer and hacking...I have plenty of friends who are just as good if not better." Did he dare say more than that? Did he dare say that at Tsui's apartment he had a Guy Fawkes mask and that he was one of the hackers of the collective? That he could somehow point things out to others and discuss it and maybe they could point a spotlight onto the Negaverse? Could they do it and how? it was something to think on if it was an idea to even go through with.
Being called an idealist didn't bother him and he nodded his head with alight smile in place. Turning his green eyes onto the other. "I know what I am...and I can't help it. I don't want to lose myself and become something - someone - I'm not. I just...I need to make idealism and realism work together somehow..." Somehow indeed.

Pollux shook his head. "Again, its parasitic. It comes, feeds until there is nothing left to prey upon, then it leaves. Think of the officers you might have encountered. They are deep in their doctrine and pulsing with power- now think like a..like an employer. If you keep what keeps your business alive and give it a reason to work for you, it's mutually beneficial. Yet what happens once it cannot return profit you anymore? That benefit of keeping them alive, or rather, employed, is now gone. Now giving them power, a paycheck if you will, is at a cost to you. So you terminate them. Business. Parasitic, basic instinct. It's logical, methodical. Right now, the negaverse is still being good in providing energy, there is still food. Big brother is a good narrative, but it goes further than that." He shrugged, crouching as he neared the edge of an overpass, car lights illuminating the area. "The problem at hand is that our resources are traceable. Our magics are mostly unknown to us, where as they have a host with knowledge. You can hack, they can trace. You can offer a haven? Who owns that building, who owns the land, the lease? Where does the paper trail end? Where do the cameras not reach, when do they stop recording? Each movement we make must be done thinking of our footprint. Our liability. Killing agents to start our war was a very loud, direct action with very large, traceable effects. It was planned and very carefully constructed. Each line, each action- everything must be taken into consideration. Each word, each movement precise. They have the advantage we do not- so we must make our own advantages, our own risks. If you want to be an idealist..." He motioned to the cars. "An idealist thinks that they will not crash. A realist knows they can, and will at one point in their lifetime. Both prepare for it, yet one more than the other. If you think you can avoid violence, look at it as it is. If you crush their hands, they will heal. If you remove a limb they get replaced with those of monsters and you get abominations like Tanzantite. Can you really think that they can all be saved?" He stared at the other man. "Do you really believe that you can avoid killing? To go back to your conundrum- Humans on a whole are just like any other animal. Our difference is in our minds. This war started before the story of Serenity. This story before we ever existed likely enough."

Listening to the explanation, not something he'd have ever thought of before, he slowly did understand how it worked and it made sense though that didn't mean it was any less disturbing to the dark haired male. "That makes sense...and big brother was the only way I could describe it. I'm not sure what other apt words, or references I could use really. Though taking into account what you've just said ti seems a bit more like that perhaps. So long as they are good worker bees they don't get...lost by the head of the whole thing. To think...they don't realize it, or fight against it." But they couldn't - could they? Did they even realize it? Did they have moments of clarity? Or did they think they were clear minded?
"So...they have their hands in a lot of places - that's not good. Can we go underground? And I don't mean in a figurative manner but a literal one? Not to sound stupid, but I am new to these things. But you mention cameras and what they see...and buildings. Why can't we get a building and make it seem like something it's not? Turn the back room, or something, into a safe place and give it an underground entrance? They can't check into a place with no cameras, such as a backroom to a store nor the underground. It's just an idea though...since you mentioned it." Was this such a big game of hide and seek and trying to stay hidden from them? It sounded like it and he didn't like that idea much, it made him a bit uncomfortable. "That attack...I dislike it but I'm understanding a bit more..." And he really didn't like it but everyone had their own ways of going about things and things needed to be done - right?
He understood the cars, and he almost pointed out that not every car had a crash at some point. Some made it and broke down due to age or whatever else. But he didn't say this as he stared for a moment. "Monsters limb? Tanzanite? I'm..clueless." he said slowly as he waited to hear what the other would say about this. Could they replace a whole arm and what did he mean by a monsters limb? "No...they can't. But I didn't think of it as this...." he hadn't gotten such blunt words, or any words like these spoken to him before. He knew some things but he was obviously in need of learning and he was doing just that right now - learning.
"Human nature - to fight, to make war, to kill. Only we are like cats...we do it for pleasure, we do it simply to do it and not for food." Cats killed because they could, not just for food. They certainly didn't make war, not like humans, nor fight for the pleasure of it. But they did kill for pleasure. "Serenity...? it seems I really am lost on this whole thing...forgive me. I think I'm understanding a bit better."(God, so sorry it's so late. I never had, back then, been notified of this tag back. And I was just poking his journal and checking on things and noticed I owed. : biggrin ies:: )

Before the other senshi could say anything there was the ringing of a phone and Ian realizing it was his own pulled it out. The phone, given to him by a cat, was brought to his ear and a few words spoken before the dark haired male nodded once and hung up.
A quick glance to the ashy blond senshi and Chaldene was nodding his head once and smiling. "Gotta run." And turning from the other the dark haired senshi of will'o'the wisp took off into the night.
