[[ OOC: Welcome to the Koti Kaikille Meta Plot!
Plot Information: For the last 3 months, the water levels have been dropping and there has been no rain - far past the normal dry season! The Council has asked for a search party to find the reason - this party will search both the pride and outside of it. All members and rogues are encouraged to join in the search! This ORP is open to EVERYONE.
There is a prize for this ORP! A young, infertile cheeton, seen below. He will be born shortly before the RP, and is not old enough to leave the den yet, though you may see mention of the litter. Parents are Chozi (Koti Kaikille, owned by Seaki) x Kazuki (Rogue, owned by Velveteen Angel). It will be drawn as a raffle at the end of the RP.
Each post counts as a ticket - if you don’t have a member in the pride, post: (Coalition Newbie) in red at the start of your first post! Each post counts as a ticket - if you DO have a member in the pride, post: (Coalition Member) in blue at the start of your first post!

It had taken a lot for Chozi to begin with the search party - he didn’t know when he would be back, after all, they didn’t know how far out the origin of the drought was - the very center - and how long they would have to walk to find it. He pressed his youngest children into the den, leaving them with Nanth. Her abilities as a breeding slave were enough to allow him to trust her with them for the period of time he hoped this would take.
There was a determination in his gait, and a fear in his heart for the fate of his lands. It had been his home for a long time, after all. The lithe Cheeton stopped at the borders of the land, where the search was to begin - once they got further out, they would be able to recruit more to join them in the quest to find the answer to this unending dryness.
Chozi had sent Mellas out in search of those who might be able to help, the small avian willing to aid her friend. She went into the roguelands to ask for the aid of any passing rogues, while the inside of the lands, word of mouth was utilized and spread.
He hoped the rest of a search party would come to aid the pride soon enough.

Tega had noticed the shrinking rain, but he had thought nothing of it. He was sure that the rains would come eventually, and every day he woke up saying 'tomorrow', and yet tomorrow never came. It was making him nervous. When he got the news of the search party, it was a simple decision to make his way to the meeting point. He was sure that he would find his partner there with him as well, because where the colony needed them, Makosa would be there.
Since the visits from his mother, Makosa had been quiet. Quieter than normal, and no matter how Tega questioned, Makosa would simply smile and wave off his concerns.
That scared him more than the rain.
"Are you alright, dear?" Sonali asked from her place above him, soaring towards the meeting spot at a slower pace, keeping near her companion.
"I'm ok," he assured, but it felt hollow.
He nodded a greeting to Chozi as they arrived. "I volunteer also," he said calmly, as Zayul had done.
It wasn't long before Tega's theory proved true and Makosa, the slightly more slender leopon, arrived on the scene, his own avian perched atop his head - squishing his mane in an awkward sprawl.
"I will assist also," he said quietly, his paws ready to put in the hard work. Council he may have been, but he would not sit idly by when there was things he could do. He glanced at his mate, and moved to stand next to him, brushing shoulders together as Sonali joined Adelai'e atop Makosa's head.
"What can we do?" He asked Chozi.
Tandotti, a new Fameli Orja, followed closely to the family that she served, though she had been off with Makosa being shown around the pride. She stood not far from the male leopons, and nervously shifted on her paws. She felt really big around some of the hybrids and other species, although she wasn't a large lion, all the cheetahs made her feel giant. It was awkward.
"I can help too," Tandotti quickly offered, though couldn't help but blurt out, "I can see really far." Wow, way to make the cheetahs feel short. She winced, "Sorry." Man, she was not doing well so far.
She was excited at being there though, because some day, and hopefully some day soon, she would give Makosa and Tega the greatest gift she could. Cubs to raise as their own. For now though, she had to try and help make sure the home they had was not about to be destroyed by drought.
[Not eligible for the Raffle c: Kazuki says "HI BABY"]

Tega glanced at his mate, brows furred in concern. "If it's the sun, is there really anything we can do?" He asked, voice loud enough to carry to the entire group, not just those he stood near. "How do we fix the sun?"
He shook his head. "Maybe something is drawing up the water; a herd of preybeasts or such? Something taking the water before we could get to it?" It was a silly idea, but it was all he could think of. It just wasn't raining.
Makosa looked a bit bemused at his partner's suggestion of a herd drinking all the water. It was a bit silly but he supposed it was a valid suggestion.
"It is clear that something unusual is happening," he mused. "If it is not nature, perhaps a god has interfered? I know of no one who has offended the gods recently, but they can be a tad fickle...at times." Being the son of a god, Makosa knew very little about them but he knew enough at times. Some could be very...fussy, and if they felt offended, it didn't always end well for the mortals nearby.
Tandotti was eagerly looking around already, though she was not moving far from the group. Instead, she was nosing around the ground near the group, a look of excited curiosity on her face. She liked helping people - this was her opportunity to give back to the pride as a whole. It was all very exciting to her. Horrible circumstances, but still.
She perked up at the idea of a god. "Perhaps we could do something to appease the gods!" She suggested cheerfully. "Like a rain ceremony or something?"
