THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS THE MAIN EVENT! AND IT IS A CAGE MATCH!! Victory can be achieved via pinfall or submission, or by escaping the cage.

Introducing first...
PostPosted: Thu Aug 07, 2014 9:00 pm

The lights in the arena dimmed as a fog began to roll in over the stage area. Soon, a theme that gamers in the audience should recognize quickly began playing as two squads of Spartan warriors began marching out from the tunnel, eventually lining both sides of the ramp.

Once all of the warriors took their positions, the lights went out completely and the music that heralded them was cut off, to be replaced by a heavy drum beat that was soon joined by a driving bass line as Warriors of the World by Manowar his the PA system. Once the bass line began, the stage itself began to glow from within with a pulsing red and gold light, and a single spotlight began to shine upward from the center of the stage as the guitar screamed.

Major's silhouette soon started to become visible as he was slowly raised from under the stage. When the lift stopped, the illumination in the arena returned and his red and gold mood lighting took over, revealing that Major Devastation had dressed up specially for the occasion as his attire matched the Spartan theme of the rest of his entrance thus far, putting all of his battle scars on display for the whole world to see.

The Devil Dog thrust the spear in his hand into the air and gave a mighty roar, causing his pyro to erupt around him before starting down the ramp. As he passed each pair of Spartans, the warriors slammed their arms across their chest in a salute and thrust their spears into the air to form an archway.

HERE OUR SOLDIERS STAND, FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD
WAITING IN A LINE TO HEAR THE BATTLE CRY!
ALL ARE GATHERED HERE! VICTORY IS NEAR!
THE SOUND WILL FILL THE HALL, BRINGING POWER TO US ALL!

WE ALONE ARE FIGHTING FOR METAL THAT IS TRUE!
WE OWN THE RIGHT TO LIVE THE FIGHT! WE'RE HERE FOR ALL OF YOU!
NOW SWEAR THE BLOOD UPON YOUR STEEL WILL NEVER DRY
STAND AND FIGHT TOGETHER BENEATH THE METAL SKY!

Introducing first, weighing in at 285 pounds, from San Antonio, Texas...He is the BEST IN THE BUSINESS, he is the uncrowned CWA Myrmidon Champion..."THE MASTER OF DISASTER" MAJOR DEVASTATION!!!

As Major reached the ringside area, he handed his spear to the stagehand before climbing up the steps and through the cage door, stepping between the top and middle ropes to enter the squared circle.

BROTHERS EVERYWHERE
RAISE YOUR HANDS INTO THE AIR!
WE'RE WARRIORS!
WARRIORS OF THE WORLD!
LIKE THUNDER FROM THE SKY
SWORN TO FIGHT AND DIE!
WE'RE WARRIORS!
WARRIORS OF THE WORLD!

As the chorus of the song played, Major raised his shield into the air and gave a mighty roar before setting the shield in the corner of the ring and removing his helmet and cloak, which he handed the stagehand to take back to his locker room as he waited for his opponent to make his entrance.

All of a sudden, the lights would drop across the arena, instantly creating a feeling of suspense in the venue. The repetitive chime of a bell could be heard, creating an eerie kind of vibe that was thick as the fog that started to billow up from the stage. A neon blue light bathed the low-hanging cloud and created a kind of art - the shifting of the mist, channeling the glow in a playful fashion. before a sudden shout would cut through the music...

"IT'S AN OMEN!"

As "The Prodigy worked his electronic magic across the speakers, Salem shot out from behind the black curtain, causing the fans to pop loudly for the younger star's arrival. His face had been streaked with fluorescent paint, making the tribal markings pop under the blacklights that bathed the stage and ramp. His forearms were wrapped in neon red tape, glowing like two flares inside the swirling blue cloud. With a series of stomps and twists, Salem broke out into a variation of the Brisbane Shuffle, whipping his wrists about to strike the audience with awe at the flashing display of color.

At last, Salem started stomping his way down the ramp, descending the steel incline in a continuation of his dance number. Many fans were pulling out camera(phone)s to film the affair, their flashes creating a kind of strobe effect that made the scene all the more surreal. But halfway down the ramp, Salem threw his arms out to the side, cuing a blast of pyro from the stage that not only evaporated the cloud that had been trailing down the ramp with him, but also flared the room with light - the set bulbs above flickering back on once the flames had been extinguished.

Standing a couple dozen feet from the cage, Salem eyed Major with a smile before walking to the side of the aisle, fist-bumping and high-fiving fans along the barricade. Once he'd made it to ringside, "The Most Wanted Man In Wrestling" would spring up the stairs and to the doorway...but rather than walk in, he'd jump up - clutching the cage and crawling nimbly to the top so he could stand on its edge for the whole arena to see. Throwing his arms out wide, Salem did a 360-degree turn and shouted, hyping up the audience before scaling down the inside wall. Standing on the top rope, Salem would glance back over his shoulder at "The Master of Disaster" before doing a backflip onto the canvas, feeling the adrenaline pumping in his veins as he circled the ring and waited for the referee to signal the start of the match. his music dying down after a few lingering moments.

Now that both men were finally accounted for, the referees slammed the cage door shut and latched it. Seconds later, the bell sounded and the match was underway. While it was generally known to the fans of CWA that Major Devastation had undergone a change of attitude since the last time he was seen in The Colosseum. However, his actions thus far haven't let on if he still bears this darker disposition, or if he's turned over a new leaf and returned to the Major of old.

Continuing the trend of unreadable motivations, the uncrowned Myrmidon champion made no initial aggressive action, but merely began circling his opponent and sizing him up.

(All that bumping and you couldn't just Skype or quote me? Lol.)

Salem circled the canvas alongside his larger opponent, using his nimble footwork to keep an even distance from Devastation at all times. As they went 'round the squared circle, though, Salem held up a hand to point his middle, index, and ring fingers down into an 'M' shape. Turning the fingers upward, it the resembled a 'W' before Salem lowered the ring finger, leaving the deuce chucked up for Major to see.

But curling up the pointer finger, the taunt became a rude gesture as Salem quickly turned around and ran for the door, trying to take advantage of his insult by distracting Major while Croft was closest to the door!

((I was hoping that wouldn't be necessary...))

It would seem that Salem should have been more careful about what he wished for. He got the desired effect of pissing off the much bigger man...but, as Croft made a dash for the door, so did Major who tried to catch his opponent in a rear waistlock.

If the Master of Disaster was able to catch the MW-Deuce before he got out the door, Devastation would promptly attempt to toss him back into the confines of the cage by way of a release German Suplex.

Salem was about to make a dive through the ropes towards the cage door before he was wrapped up by Major, the big man surprisingly spry on his feet. Reaching desperately for the turnbuckle to no avail, Salem was pulled back a few steps before he was heaved head over shoulders across the ring by the German Suplex! Bouncing off his shoulders, the M.W. Deuce clutched his lumbar as he rolled upright into the opposite corner. He'd have to keep his wits about him to find an edge against the Master of Disaster!

Major's feats of athleticism were hardly surprising to the fans, who had seen the two-sport collegiate All American and multiple time world champion dominate the squared circle for years. While the big man's attitude might be questionable, it would appear that the Devil Dog was getting back in touch with his roots.

After barking at the referees at ringside to shut the cage door, a wicked grin spread across the features of the only man to ever hold the CWA Myrmidon championship, promising that he'd make Salem regret his previous actions.

Salem was struggling to stand as Major was mouthing for the door to be shut, but the young alumni had trouble getting his feet beneath him following that vicious throw from the former Myrmidon Champion. Still, even as Major sneered at him from across the ring, Salem stood defiant - a testament to the lad's own pride. Huffing the sweaty, black bangs from his eyes, the "Most Wanted Man in Wrestling" forgot about the pain in his back and straightened up, thrusting his chest out and slapping it with a firm beat of his taped up fist.

"You wanna be locked in a cage with me, Major?!" Salem shouted spitefully, leering at the large man. "Then come at me! Let's do this, big guy!"

Major found Salem's display of bravado rather amusing. Kinda like a chihuahua trying to act like an alpha dog around a big rottweiler. And, by all estimates, this encounter seemed like it would end in roughly the same fashion.

"Your funeral", Devastation replied to his opponent's taunts as he went for a collar and elbow tie-up.

Salem was eyeing the giant carefully as he stalked forward, looking to initiate a lock-up...but as Salem raised his hands, the lad showed off some of his ring awareness by stepping back to push off the turnbuckles behind him and launch forward for a flying fist to catch the big guy off-guard with a display of speed!
