He'd sent work the princess that he wanted to sit and have tea, something simple and harmless really, it was just a way to spend time with the other and be as normal as they possibly could be. He knew who the dark princess was as a civilian, just as she knew who he was, but this was tea while powered up. he'd written a little note addressed to her as such and had it sent to her.

He'd spent the morning preparing in fact. It was on the roof of what was once the tea shop he'd run, a means to gathering energy, that he had set up a small round table, with a glass top, and two chairs. A tea service, full, was laid out on a long rectangular table, waiting for his guest. He had gotten pastries from a bakery and he had a tea pot and a pot full of coffee at the ready, each nice and warm, with cups, sauces, milk in a small container, sugar in a covered bowl, and other things all set up for when she'd arrive.

Glancing down at his cell phone he noted the time before going over everything one last time before seating himself. She should be here any moment.

Persephone arrived exactly at the time Benitoite had requested, and no earlier or later. She flickered into being on the roof - there were few places in Destiny City, these days, that she did not know intimately enough to teleport to. She was in her Eternal form, though she had taken a moment to tie a ribbon into her wild mane of hair near the name of her neck - a nod to keeping it out of her face and her food while she ate with a fellow Royal.

"Afternoon, Beni," she greeted, friendly and light. "You'll forgive me for not showing up in Princess form - it is really hard to sit down when you're managing wings."

Watching as the eternal appeared, how easily she did it, the General King nodded his head in greeting. Taking note that she wasn't in her princess form he turned back to the tea service and set about pouring her a cup. "i don't know how you take your tea." Coffee was for him, he'd grown...used to it. He couldn't always have an espresso machine with him, someone should install one down in the Rift...it would be nice.

"I understand. I can't imagine how hard sitting with those wings must be - lovely as they are. Why don't you come here and finish your tea while i get myself something to drink. I got us pastries as well."

Persephone took her seat, pouring a cup of tea for herself. Ordinarily, she might have had coffee - there were days when the Princess ran primarily on caffeine - but she was trying not to indulge her habit too much. She added a little cream and sugar, and then selected a pastry, setting it on her plate.

"Thank you, for all this," she said, and she took a small sip. "It's always nice to have a little downtime." Particularly with someone she could trust. Running the city was stressful, and sometimes little twists of guilt bloomed in her heart when she thought about what she had done to get there. What they had all done.

But it was part of Metallia's plan, and it was for the better, in the end.

Watching her, wanting to know how she took her tea, he poured himself some coffee and added the creme and sugar to it. He really did dislike it when compared to espresso with pomegranate syrup, he needed to indulge in his favorite drink soon, but he would settle for this for tonight.

As she took a pastry he did as well, though not much for sweets. "Perhaps the sweets we don't finish we can bring to Bischofite." He spoke in an off handed manner as he took a seat. "It is nice to relax every so often - needed even. In order to work at our best we need to rest and relax often." He knew he needed to time to rest and relax, he was stressed and so busy with everything he was doing.

"Tell me, how have you been Princess?" he questioned gently, with a slight tilt to his head. Now was not a time to look and act so stiff. He trusted her almost completely he thought to himself. The list of those he trusted enough with his secrets was so limited and small it could use a microscope to see.

"I think he'd like that," Persephone agreed, taking a bite of her pastry. She spent enough time around the youma-king, it wasn't going to hurt her to play a little nice with him rather than mouthing off at each other all the time. "I don't think I have half the stress you do - Princess or not, I don't have your level of responsibility. I just creep around and scare the s**t out of Order and corrupt them, sometimes."

And sometimes she crept with Leto, and they caught Senshi between them, and gave them a choice - the Mirror, the Negaverse, or death. Most picked option one or two. But that didn't seem a good thing to discuss - her relationship with the Mirror Princess sometimes felt almost treasonous, given all the defections within the Court.

"I've been alright," she said, which was a lie. She worried about Leto and she raged about all those who left and sometimes she mourned Kerberos because even though he was still alive, he might as well have been dead, and none of that quite seemed within "alright," but venting about her personal problems wasn't the best idea.

"He'll enjoy them - still has a sweet tooth I believe." he had been so busy with all his duties that it was impossible for him to spend much social time with anyone aside from the his boyfriend/partner. He had his duties, the information gathering and passing, and a relationship to work on not to mention normal duties that didn't include City Hall work. He was still an officer of the Negaverse so had those general duties to fulfill as well. it was a lot and it took time and stressed him many times. The fact his boyfriend dealt with him when he came home stressed was...amazing. it really was. "I'm sure you enjoy scaring orders little members, especially their newest members. It must be entertaining. Do you take Bischofite with you often?" He questioned with the quirking of a brow.

If he knew the princess across from him was thinking herself treasonous he could easily kill those thoughts, but would he have trusted her enough to do so and tell her that if anyone was a traitor he was? Not likely but he wasn't playing a game which was to be taken lightly. He played a game that could spell death for himself and others.

"That's good. I hope you're not been nearly as busy as I've been. If so then I fear I'll have to take you out for tea, coffee, and pastries more. Perhaps arrange some sort of vacation time for us both to get away, maybe find a way to take others with us who are in need as well." he stated with a teasing smile, though is words were most serious. Being as stressed as he was, even by half, was no good and if he could help diminish it he would do so - somehow.

"Bischofite comes with me often enough," Persephone said, lightly. "He's a good partner, for the scaring. Terrifying just by existing. But we aren't together all the time, and sometimes I take other partners out with me." She stared down at her tea for a moment, and tried not to think too much about her former fiancee, practically rendered insane.

(Persephone still thought of herself as engaged, and still wore her ring, those rare times when she was powered down, but she wasn't sure if Leto thought the same way.)

"You're lucky, though - don't you have a lovely boyfriend, these days? That must help," she said, and then she sighed. "I wish I was busier, I don't like having time for my thoughts these days, and that's all I have." Never mind that the person she'd most like to take on any kind of vacation was in no fit state to be in public.

"He is a good companion to have, and not just because he terrifies people. He is capable and his traps and plans are very good." Even if Alexandre thought them a bit over the top. He would never put the other down, and not just due to the past, but because despite traps and all those large plots not being his cup of tea he gave credit where it was due. Bischofite was talented and had a good, strong, mind for such things. Benitoite was the sort of do minor plots, work in the shadows when it came to them, but in a fight he went right for the kill - at least when he was in it to win a fight. When was the last time he'd killed someone? He couldn't honestly remember...

"Yes, indeed. I am lucky to have someone so fiercely loyal." Loyal more to himself than the Negaverse and the cause. He feared for the other at times, knowing it was likely his partner would throw himself into the line of danger just to save the General King some would be minor injury. He also worried because if he was ever found out they'd no doubt go for his other half as well. It was one reason, out of many, for why he couldn't fail in his endeavors to help take out the Negaverse.

Looking over the long green haired princess he tilted his head. He knew of her and Leto and that odd situation, he felt for them both, and reached out across the table to lay his hand on any part of the other that he could reach. "I only hope you have the same happiness I've found. I hope someday it works with you and Leto and you both have the happiness you both deserve." Maybe if the senshi and knights won they could? If they somehow didn't get caught up in the fighting and get killed. He could only hope...that was all there was now - hope. Wasn't that was all that was left in Pandora's box when it was opened. Yes...all the bad things released and hope still remained and the blond clung to it these days.

"We complement each other well, when we work together," Persephone hummed lightly. "Even if our official assignment boils down to 'make sure the other one doesn't run off and turn traitor.'" She laughed it off, as she said it, but it was something actually frightening for her. She no more wanted to turn on Bischofite than she wanted to rip out her own heart.

She tensed, slightly, at the way he phrased his condolences. Things with Leto were intensely complicated, and for the most part, she had maintained the public fiction that the romance was done.

"What Leto and I might have had is long gone," she said, and it was a lie, a lie that hurt to tell - but a deeply necessary one. "Our partnership is strictly...I'd say business, but not exactly." She loved Leto with everything she had, had loved her for five years, would love her for long after that, but it would be dangerous for her to be publicly involved with someone outside the Negaverse, someone who was notably kind of unstable, never mind the whole mess with the split in the Dark Mirror. There were certain public fictions she had to maintain even if they made her heart ache, things that no one - not even Benitoite - could be fully trusted with. Her position was far too sensitive and precarious for that.

There were plenty of people in the Negaverse, she knew, who wanted to see the only Corrupt Princess quietly disappear. Equal in theory or not, they didn't trust her because she was a Senshi, or didn't trust her because she maintained relations with the members of the Dark Mirror who still fought for Chaos. She had to avoid adding fuel to that fire.

"As if either of you would turn traitor." No, that was his job. Not that really anyone knew that he was a traitor to the higher power that was Matalia, as well as his fellow General King's and Queen's. What would the green haired Princess think if she were to find out? Would she support it and not tell anyone? Would she turn him over? He couldn't trust her enough to tell her - it was too much a risk. He had, over time, closed off many things about himself whilst appearing as open as he'd ever been.

Tilting his head he nodded slowly. "I see. it's a shame. You two did seem so in love. It is sad to see such a thing wither and die." He whispered, sincere slate eyes focused on the dark green haired princess. He was lucky to have someone at his side, someone to share his secrets with. It wasn't something he let the public know, public displays of anything weren't his cup of tea. As he poured himself a coffee and added the usual needs to it, as much as he did still dislike coffee, he went to grab something to nibble on.

"Leto while unstable has always been a friend of mine. I do miss her, I've not seen nor spoken to her in a long time." he did still support the dark mirror, and didn't make it a secret either, as those who still were chaotic in nature it was only right that he should. Chaos was chaos as far as he was concerned. Somethings hadn't changed about the General King while other things had change drastically. "I do miss the times where there was some manner of peace about this city and we and the dark mirror were closer. I doubt it appears good for me that I'm still on good terms with several of there members. I'm already questioned about my dealings with the senshi of prayer I protect." It was well known amongst the ranks that he had taken a senshi under his wing and fiercely protected her. He would not corrupt her, wouldn't allow anyone else to, and no harm was to come to her - less someone had a wish for a painful death. He had made sure these things were known as he'd tacked on such threats to anyone who would go against his words.
