Kazuo had been trying to sleep for the first time in like two days. The small man had bags under his eyes, his apartment was a mess, but did he care? No. He was in bed and bed was somehow still warm and cozy and probably not terribly safe in the long run, but for now, it was. He sighed contentedly as he curled up in his nest of blankets and pillows, dozing in the dark. Slightly warm, but not overly hot, so that was good.

A knock at his door made him groan and whine and he heard a familiar voice that just made him whine. He adored the girl but he was trying to sleep. Still, far be it for the Japanese man to be rude. He unnested himself threw on a shirt and answered the door in his pajamas, quickly ushering the girl into the dark before flipping a switch to turn on the lights.

"Hi," he greeted through a yawn, hand pressed to his lips so he didn't yawn on her. "Did I miss a meeting?"

Kazuo shrugged a little at her apology for waking him and just moved back to his nest of a bed and pulled the sheet around him. "Mmn.. It's okay." It wasn't like he slept much anyway. Being woken up by someone like this wasn't new. Dark brown eyes watched her as she dug around in her bag and then blinked at the package.

Taking it with a small bow and a flush on his face, Kaz opened it up and saw a quail plushie and just grinned. "Aww..." He laughed and looked up at Istas before biting down on his lip. "Thank you! I love it, it's cute..." He patted the quail's head before settling it in his lap and carefully folding the paper the doll had come in. He'd use it for something or other later. For now, he tucked it in a drawer and just watched her.

His apartment was just one room with small half partitions here and there for the 'kitchen' and 'living room' and 'bedroom'. "So.. How bad are things getting?" It was known that Quail's Eye was basically a pacifist. He ran away from fights more than anything. "..Have we lost many?"

Kaz whined a little when she mentioned cleaning and flustered shaking his head. "N-no! Just... It's alright. You should just sit.." he murmured, motioning to the clean chair near the bed. He muddled his brown hair even more and just listened to her words about the resistance. He toyed with his fingers as she toyed with her shirt and just looked down.

Things weren't going well, everyone knew it. They needed a push to get them back in the right direction. Though technically Quail's Eye wasn't Order or Chaos aligned, he helped out the Order aligned Senshi and Knights and Guardians because knew their goal was good.

Then Istas spoke of the children and Kaz nodded a bit. "Mm... I've been taking small groups to my territory. As long as they hope, then I know this bad streak will be over." He smiled a little more, petting the quail doll slowly and just looked down at it. Children were the future. These children, the chosen ones would grow up to do great things in the world if they stuck to the path of Order.

"Traveling to space is taxing, from what I can hear," he murmured, brows knitting. He shuffled closer to her and took Istas's hand in his own, giving it a bit of a squeeze before sighing. "...Sorry.. I just.. I'll clean up later.. I appreciate your offer though?" Kazuo shuffled forward a bit more, letting his legs swing over the edge of the bed, feet resting on the floor before taking a deep breath.

Talking about one's home world wasn't easy, he had come to find out. He offered the teenager a soft look and a pat to the hand. "....It'll happen. We'll make it happen. Chaos can't reign forever. You know what they say, without light there'd be no darkness." Now the man felt like he had to cheer her up somehow.

"Tea? I could go for some tea..." With that, he shuffled off the bed and towards the area designated as his kitchen.

"Mm..I would like it too." He clicked his tongue and started the tea, then proceeded to wash two cups. "...No. Not in this situation. In order to look for him you have to stay alive, don't you?" Kazuo asked seriously, looking over to her with worried eyes. He so fretted for the younger teens and the children that were chosen and awoke as Senshi's. They were so young. As Chibi senshi they couldn't be corrupted but it didn't mean they got to chose. Now a days being chosen means giving up your childhood and going into hiding and being thrown into this war, the resistance. They didn't get to be children anymore.

He took a deep breath and listened as she explained further before nodding. "Mm. If you believe he's out there then I believe you'll find him." Belief was a strong thing. It could be make or break in a lot of situations. Padding back to where she could see him easily and he nodded once again. "When you're ready, I can help you look for him."

Kaz gave a little noise and moved to slide her her cup of tea before putting a hand on that lavender hair. "Drink up," he murmured gently, sighing.

Missing family was always hard to cope with, honestly. He settled beside her and just pulled her into a friendly hug, looking off at nothing, really. He was thinking. Kazuo wanted to help calm her nerves, but he didn't know if her father was really alive. Most people who went missing didn't come back, but he couldn't say that. Istas was so innocent, pure and good, he didn't want to sew that seed of negativity in her.

"You'd seen him before? What did he look like?"

Pink and black hair? That didn't strike any bells with the adult. He hummed a little and tilted his head as he thought. He'd have to talk to his network of friends to see if they knew anyone with pink and black hair.

Then she spoke again and his face fell as he made soothing noises for her. "...I'm sure he's fine. He's your father, he's got to be tough, right? Besides..." He gave her a serious look. "Family ties means you can tell if something's happened to him." He patted her head and then moved her hair around a bit more to try to get her to laugh.

"As for the children, yes. Next batch I get, I'll find you and we'll bring them to my territory together, Princess. We'll fly and just play games with them.. Everyone needs a break." Kazuo had no problems admitting that. Yes, it took a lot of effort on his part, but it put smiles on people's faces and that's what he wanted. The children's hearts would be lighter, their powers would get stronger, and the laughter of children always seemed to make him feel better. "..You can nap here, you know. You look as tired as I do."
