Gaia name: Skuld HJG

Character Name: Sun Shang Xiang (or Sun Shangxiang)

Codename: Lady Sun

Alias: 'The Angel of Wrath'

Age: Physically 16, was born roughly 188-190 AD China

Alignment: Good (but a lot depends on how others approach her)

Powers:

Regeneration: Shang's accelerated healing process that enables her to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with far greater efficiency than an ordinary human. She can regenerate great damaged or destroyed tissue with few seconds; the full extent and speed of of this regeneration isn't known. Shang can swiftly heal various wounds, severe burns, and regenerate missing body parts within a matter less than a minute. Also, Shang's healing has vastly reduced or possibly halted her aging process -- Whether or not this means that Lady Sun is effectively immortal remain unknown at this time. Furthermore, Sun Shang's overall constitution and stamina have been greatly augmented by this regenerative power.

Psionic Weapons Creation:

Shang may create physical weaponry, such as clubs and swords (but not guns and other such complex mechanical weaponry), through sheer force of will. These Psionic Weapons will last only as long as Shang concentrates on them. Should the created weapon be broken or damaged, Shang could become stunned from a few seconds to up to ten minutes. Usually, Shang creates weaponry she is most familiar with: Chinese longswords, polearms or even a composite shortbow. The Chinese noble would never create weapons that she would consider ‘beneath her station.’ The easiest weapons for her to produce are either a replica of her father’s sword or a replica of her own composite shortbow.

Energy Sheath :

Shang can project a reddish energy sheath around her psionic weaponry, allowing her to cut through almost any substance with her weapons – for example: Shang can slice through a figure wearing heavy armor as if it where butter. There are certain exceeding rare metals that are immune to Shang’s attacks. Two such examples of immune metals are adamantium and vibranium.

Bio:

Sun Shang Xiang was believed to have been Sun Jian's seventh child and his third daughter. She is often referred to as Lady Sun. She is alternatively known in modern culture as Sun Shangxiang and Sun Ren. Although she is called Sun Quan's younger sister in Fa Zheng's scroll from the Record of Three Kingdoms, it's unclear if she was actually Sun Jian's daughter, since there are few official records from Wu that accurately state her genealogy. Having been taught martial arts from an early age, Sun Shang Xiang is a girl who wanted to prove her worth in battle. She could fight well with a polearm or sword and always had a bow strapped near her waist. This earned her the nickname "Archer Princess" or more literally "Bow Waist Princess."

According to Fa Zheng's scroll, Sun Quan decided to marry his sister to Liu Bei after the latter had become ruler of Jing Province in 204. He wished to gain friendly relations with Liu Bei through the marriage and the wedding was held in a public area at Xiulin Mountain. The extravagant ceremony formed a deep cordial relationship between the two rulers. Lady Sun shared her older brother's bold traits and constantly had one hundred ladies-in-waiting armed with swords by her side. When Liu Bei entered her room, he always tried to do so without being seen and became very timid. Zhuge Liang once said, "In the north, we have Cao Cao. In the south, we have Sun Quan. Now, we also have Lady Sun to consider a threat. If Fa Xiaozhi (Fa Zheng) can make my lord gain the will to overcome them, he will be rewarded greatly."

When Liu Bei entered Yi Province, Lady Sun convinced many overworked and frustrated Wu soldiers to join her. Zhao Yun noticed their displeasure and carefully placed them in various government positions within Liu Bei's forces.

In Empress Wu and Zhao Yun's scrolls, Sun Quan heard of Liu Bei's actions in the west and he sent a large group of ships to retrieve his sister. Though she tried to take Liu Shan with her, Zhuge Liang ordered Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei to retrieve their lord's young heir. The two generals were able to intercept Lady Sun's party at Yangtze River and Liu Shan was returned with them. The Qing Dynasty compilations reason that it was a kidnapping, but the time frame which it took place contradicts other historical records. After the event, Liu Bei quarreled with Lady Sun and sent her to live in the western side of his public domain. After Liu Bei conquered Yi Province, he broke off relations with her and she was returned to her homeland.

It was soon after this that the Sh'iar sent an invasion task force to take over war-torn China to use that as a base of operations to take over the rest of the earth. When the Sh'iar invaded, the different warring states within the Han stopped fighting each other and massed their forces to attack the 'flying demons plaguing their land.'

The ‘birdmen demons’ began slaughtering everyone, and Shang herself witnessed that the Shi’ar were exterminating families. Lady Sun fought and was shot herself – and was shocked when her wounds were healed instantly. When a sword formed within her hand, Shang took it as a sign from the gods to slay these demons. A task she did with almost complete abandon. Not only did Shang quickly found that she could easily slice through their flesh, she found that she could slash through their armor and warmachines.

Sun Shang ended up turning the tide of battle against the Shi’ar, as a seemingly unstoppable force that cut through the Shi’ar vanguard. After hours of battle, Shang made it to the Shi’ar command tent on the ground. The alien general and his staff were shocked to see a bloodied Shang staring back at them with murderous intent. That scene seemed to be frozen until a single drop of blood dripped from Shang’s red glowing blade.

Shang tore through the Shi’ar general and his subordinates with a terrifying swiftness, an event witnessed by the Shi’ar Emperor viewing on the screen where he was talking to his general only a few moments before. After Shang ended the transmission by smashing her sword through the viewscreen, the Emperor sent the order to withdraw.

As the soldiers from different banners celebrated their victory, Rigelians whom had observed what Shang did to the Shi’ar used their telepathic powers to capture Lady Sun. Once rendered unconscious by a dozen Rigelians working in concert, Shang was taken by these aliens placed in stasis. The Rigelians used their technology to create hybrid clones of Shang as bioweapons against their enemies – including the Shi’ar. Over the centuries, the Shi’ar themselves have learned to fear these Rigelian-created spawn referring to them as ‘Reavers.’ Shang herself was kept in cyrofreeze, occasionally thawed to collect fresh genetic samples over nearly two millennia until recently when Shi’ar special forces tracked down the craft carrying Shang’s coffin.

As both Rigelian and Sh’iar craft shot each other down, Shang’s coffin was the only thing to remain intact from its impact in the wilderness...

Personality:

Shang is an upbeat and independent woman who is considered to be a tomboy by others. She is loving and loyal to her family, slightly respecting her brother Sun Ce over Sun Quan. Always eager to lend a helping hand, Shang frequently wanted to show her worth in battle sharing her family's dignity and enthusiasm.

Additional Notes: At first, the only languages Shang will understand until she learns English is Mandarin and Canton (Chinese dialects).
