General Painite had to admit, it was nice to be able to just relax whenever she wanted to, and not have to worry too much about playing her civilian role. She hated being a human being these days, and had long believed, for years now, that Chaos had made her far more than that. Maybe not an alien, like their invader counterparts, but certainly something greater than a stupid, bumbling human. All they were, in her estimation, were fodder. Cows and sheep.
Painite could not help but think about Magneto, and the X-Men. Mutants. Superiors. People who had awakened into great and terrible powers, and chose what paths they followed. Chose what to do with that strength. Some chose to hide, like the kids at the Xavier school, while others chose to use their power for what it had been given to them for. Even before she had been corrupted into the Negaverse, Painite felt a strange connection to Magneto and the way he thought about the world around him. About his role in it. He did not want to play a part, either. He would suffer no man, and that was something she could admire.
Strolling leisurely, Painite was not up to hunting today. She would, of course, if she felt any auras in the area or saw anything that looked like fun. Chances were good, though, that no one would come out this way. The senshi and knights like to hide away, and took a little effort to flush out sometimes. Today, she was feeling fairly leisurely.
It was a very, very rare feeling for her, even in these times of conquest and control. She was never satisfied, and always craved more. Today, though, she was not too sure what she was looking for. She was searching, though, looking around and taking her time.
Maybe she was just hoping someone else would bring some fun to her.

Growling softly under his breath, Haumea turned his head this way and that as if he was trying to pick up an elusive scent. It was getting harder with every passing day to find those who sided with Order. He preferred to believe that they were becoming an endangered species. It sure beat thinking that they were learning and adapting.
Huffing in annoyance, the tall ascended senshi stood up straight and considered his options. He didn't want to go back empty handed. But neither did he wish to waste his time in a fruitless search. No, for now, it was time to withdraw and perhaps see if the various agents in charge of information had any new leads.

Feeling another aura nearby, Painite sneered and moved toward it. It was not something she wanted to see, and she wrinkled her nose in distaste at what she found. Another Chaos member, but one she just did not like. A Senshi, even if they called themselves corrupted, or Chaos, or Nega. They were not.
They were aberrations, by her definition. At least nowadays, when her patience and understanding was all but gone, and the only thing she wanted to see was her own 'kind'. The Negaverse. The true ones.
"What have we got here?"
The phrase was usually used teasingly when she said it, but looking him over, she actually did find herself wondering what she was looking at. Yes, she knew that senshi on their side had this ability to go all weird, but she could not understand why they did it or what it achieved. Could not. Would not. Same difference.
She remembered him, though, vaguely. He'd been different but she was sure she had met him once upon a time. Had she liked him then? She could not recall, but she was willing to draw new conclusions now.

At the sound of a voice, Haumea looked up, little ripples of Chaos jumping and sparking from the cracks in his body as he moved. He felt this woman's own Chaos signature and that was the only thing that kept him from attacking. Dulled tangerine eyes studied her, while a nagging sense of familiarity teased at his memories. He knew this woman. He was sure of it.
Well, he was mostly sure of it. 90% at least.
The fringe of his fuku rustled slightly as he moved, a graceful stalking gait that brought him a little closer to the woman. Looking down at her, he finally had it.
"Ah. The Most Dangerous Game. I do not think I would advise you trying to run me down and ram a spear though my back these days."
He wasn't sure he had a heart left to stab. Or at least, not one that mattered.

"Oh right! I remember you! Aw, those were good times, weren't they?" She laughed at that, honestly, which was a rare sound for her to make these days. Usually it was a much more wicked, evil or mocking laugh. This time, though, she was amused and rather pleased with the memory.
She smiled at him, though it faded when she saw his weird cracks shimmering. It made her stomach turn, and she shook her head. Balance, that was the key with Chaos. Let it consume you, and you became its puppet. It was not true strength unless you were in control. She liked to believe she was in control of the power in her, but of course, others would argue against that.
And they would be right.
"So what do you do for us? Besides look creepy and wander around brainlessly. I've got a corrupt senshi, but he's like my little dog, and he does everything I tell him to do. Are you someone's dog, too?" Senshi. They were all the same, even the ones on her side. She just could not bring herself to like them.

Wander around brainlessly? Oh really now. Arching an eyebrow and sneering a bit, Haumea continued to stare unblinkingly down at the woman. When he finally did speak, it was in a dry, matter-of-fact tone.
"We are all dogs of Queen Metallia. We just bear different scars proving our devotion."
His implication that she was as much a pet as he was unmistakable. Still, he filled what could have been an awkward silence almost immediately.
"For you? I do nothing. For Metallia, for the Negaverse, I atone for the sins of my past and once-brethen by hunting them down and... neutralizing them."
His flat, dead eyes seemed to glimmer from deep within when he said that. As if he was silently inviting her to imagine all of the interesting ways in which a threat could be neutralized. He had rank equal to this one, her aura proclaimed as much. But if she was going to insult him, there was no reason why he couldn't return the favor.

"So you're pointless," Painite said, shaking her head. "All that senshi dogma and bullshit, but it means nothing. You're doing... nothing. Nothing that I don't already do, and with, I imagine, much more style and far fewer flowers. I think things like you are a waste of Chaos."
She smiled at him pleasantly.
"All senshi should be dead. Chaos belongs to the Negaverse. Look what happens when the Senshi get it? You get weird monsters, or little traitors that hide in mirrors. Leave the big guns to the people that can handle them. But hey, if you think you're doing a good job, I'm sure that's enough, right?"
Painite shook her head, rolling her eyes. She was supposed to be getting along with anyone supporting their side, but it was so hard to put aside her usual bias and her severe hatred of all things Senshi.
So far, it had not come back to bite her. But that likely would not hold true forever.

"When you have single-handedly delivered an entire planet to Queen Metallia, then you can insult me, human," Haumea answered in a voice laced with quiet menace. Crossing his arms over his chest, the Chaos powering him seemed to ripple and spark more than usual.
"Until you are ready to give up everything you have and all you are to Metallia, I would recommend that you not be so hasty to judge. Nor should you be so quick to condemn those senshi who fight on your side."
Now it was Haumea's turn to smile pleasantly.
"After all, it is Queen Metallia's choice to take us and shape us to serve. Not yours. You wouldn't want to be thought of as questioning our great Queen, would you?"
Oh yeah. He went there.

"An entire planet of what? Empty space? How about you put that planet to better use and take you and all your other little senshi friends back to it? Then you'll be doing something useful with it."
She did not seem to like being called a human, though. She felt like she was more than that now, with the power she had been given. She flinched, and glared at him.
His questions about the 'queen', though, were left unanswered. She couldn't say anything without getting herself in trouble, more so than she usually was. She could get away with being a rebel and doing things her way, but being a voice against the source of their power was not as viable an option for her. She grunted and shrugged her shoulders, looking petulant.
"I see you think very highly of yourself and your role in this war. I'm sure once we're done with the White Moon, we'll figure out who is meant to do what with the world that's left behind." The Negaverse belonged to the Earth as much as it belonged to them, and she did not think there was any room on it for Senshi of any kind. Chaos first had to overcome order, then they could weed out those that should not have been allowed to taste the power they were given.
"But I guess you're right. We're serving the same purpose, so I guess I can't be too hard on you."

Shrugging, Haumea brushed aside her words as unimportant.
"Empty perhaps, but the hearts were intact and still ripe for the picking. Queen Metallia seemed pleased enough with the gift."
Though mild, his words were a clear goad. She could hate on him all she wanted, but at the end of the day, it was Metallia and not this General who would determine his ultimate usefulness.
Still smiling though the expression didn't quite reach his deadened eyes, Haumea clearly didn't believe a word of what she was saying. Still, if they were now playing the diplomacy game, he could participate as easily as she.
"Indeed. And perhaps I, too, was to harsh with you. We all serve the same glorious leader and purpose after all."

Painite watched him and wondered about him.
These Nega Senshi or whatever it was they wanted to call themselves, they were curious little creatures. They were more than what she thought, anyway: they offered a challenge that she had not been anticipating. She rarely spoke to them, and the one she owned was much more single minded and obedient than this one seemed to be. This one had his own ideas of what he was and what his worth was.
Curious indeed.
Well, now she knew to keep an eye out for him, and see what he was doing for this war. She wanted to know how he operated, and what he contributed in the day to day. The idea of space and planets never really bothered her. Earth was her only concern, save only kicking the aliens off the planet all together. Let them deal with other planets.
This one was hers.
"Well, the name's Painite, if you didn't know, and I think you and I are going to meet again." She smiled at him, though this time it was not completely devoid of some pleasant emotion, though what it was, specifically, was a mystery.

"Haumea," he introduced himself with an odd, clipped bow. "I look forward to it, Lady Painite."
Part of him was vaguely aware that he should have been cowering and terrified of this woman. He was fairly certain that at one point he had been. Looking at her now though, he couldn't understand why exactly she'd seemed so fearsome in his eyes.
Rather than try to puzzle it out, he simply smiled again and waited for some social cue. He would rather be out hunting those of the White Moon than standing here bandying words about, after all.

Twilight Jaws ( This can be a fin, even though Painite is being creepy and following him around >> ) "Haumea, right. Well, have a good one."
She chuckled and teleported away, then powered down not too far away. She wanted to see where he went and what he was up to. Following him would not be too tough, with all the chaos auras around, it was easy for her to be lost in the crowd. But she would still be careful, teleporting and powering down as she went, just in case.
It was an old, old habit suddenly resurfacing. She was a reporter, once upon a time, and sometimes a story had her so curious, she just had to follow the lead.
Tonight, he was her beat, and she was going to construct a story around him, whether he knew it or not. It was time to learn more about these weird Senshi that were not quite senshi and not quite Negas. At least, learn more about them in the world they lived in now.
