Hugbell hadn’t been expecting to wonder out so late at night. Well, in fact she’d cut down on her wonderings outside past her bed time in favor of actually doing things during the day but tonight something was a little different. She’d gotten bored during the day after her plans had fell through with her grandparents who were still stuck in North Carolina. The pre-teen had wanted to go to the beach and spent the rest of the week there playing in the sand and surf. Not to mention shopping at all the shops!
So in order to forget her fairly minor disappointing troubles Istas actually powered up and headed outside sneaking off once again having previously used one of her local relatives as an excuse to not be home. After all, she couldn’t have her parents worrying about her when they found out she wasn’t in bed. She skirted around the usual playground she liked to visit. Hugbell wanted a little more adventure than just the typical playground and she knew where to find it!
Not too far off from the playground there was an old building, a store that use to be a candy shop or something from the earlier 1900’s in a part of town that had grown up around it but forgot the little store. She’d remembered her father talking about it sometimes wishing that the store was still open which was how she’d found out the age of the building in the first place. Since her father occasionally brokered in old buildings, and from what she could tell, it was still structurally safe. “I wonder if there’s anything left?” she mused as she stood in front of the door. “Maybe I could find daddy a nice poster or something from the old store.”

Remarque had needed a change of pace, and while he had told himself he could never get bored wandering the dark alleyways of Destiny City…
He'd gotten bored.
It wasn't like there wasn't enough for him to be doing right now, but every now and then he just needed to do something else—work out his energy in some way.
Tonight was his little treat to himself; instead of dealing with the homeless and the ruffians like he usually did, he was wandering the streets at his own, leisurely pace. The Eternal Dark Mirror Senshi had been enjoying the solitude, until he became distinctly aware of another energy signature on the horizon.
For a moment, he debated on if he should make his way to it or not, but before his brain had time to sort out what he should do, his feet had already taken him to the chibi senshi.
Ah, chibi senshi.
Because they were most certainly his favorite type of senshi.
He watched her for a moment as he approached. He looked comfortable, at least—like he wasn't in any real hurry. His hands were shoved deeply into the pockets of his pants and he looked a bit tired.
Just a bit, though.
But it was only to be expected from someone who wasn't sleeping well and always seemed to have something to do.
He tilted his head when she spoke, wondering if she was speaking to him or herself.
Ultimately, it didn't matter.
"Why don't you go in and look?" he asked as he approached from behind her.

She'd felt him before she seen him or heard him, but Hugbell knew there was a dark force coming towards her. However she didn't feel the need to run - as she never did. The child only hoped who was approaching her was not Wolframite and perhaps hoped more for her long missing buddy Scheelite. Though, much to her surprise when she turned as the chaotic energy spoke to find neither.
"I was thinking about it, but I've never really . . . broke into a place." She said using her head to nod towards the store, the door seemed fairly intact despite the boards covering the windows. "I wouldn't know where to start - despite breaking out of my own house." She seemed amused at herself and perhaps even for a chibi senshi oddly at ease with a chaotic aura around.
"I'm Hugbell, Senshi of Comfort." She offered holding her hand out to see if he'd shake it. Though she tilted her head as she observed him, "I . . . take it you're not a corrupt senshi but, you feel as if you are a member of Chaos?" She seemed curious about his uniform noticing the elements that were there. Who was he?

Remarque gave her a look, seeming torn between being impressed and disappointed that she was neither afraid of him—nor seemed to know what he was.
"Remarque. Senshi of Puppetry. Well, Dark Mirror Senshi," he clarified. "Which is probably that Chaos signature you're picking up." He took her hand and gave a firm shake; he had met chibi senshi before, and it seemed that they were always bold in at least one way.
"Though, I'm surprised that you don't recognize a Dark Mirror Senshi when you see them. Or, have you just never run into one before?"
He glanced at the store; it looked like no one had come by in quite some time.
To him—hell, that might as well have been an open invitation. If no one cared enough about this place to keep it in good shape, then no one deserved the right to complain if people were taking advantage of it.
It didn't even look like it would be too hard to get into, and now that he was here…a part of him was pretty damn curious to see if they'd left anything behind.

Hugbell tilted her head as she gave a quizzical look at the dark mirror senshi. Taking in his uniform and the differences between a corrupt and normal. "Interesting. . . I don't think I've ran into any at direct length. I mean I know you all exist and that I've seen some glimpse of you all in larger battles I'm sure."
The child explained as she eventually turned her attention towards the store as he glanced towards it. "Do you think anyone would mind if we went inside?" She asked having a feeling he might be thinking the same thing -- or at least the venturing inside part.
"Also puppetry that's a cool sounding sphere." She added.

"It's got its perks," he shrugged, but he wasn't about to argue. He'd seen some of the spheres the other senshi had, and he was pretty damn pleased with the one he'd gotten saddled with. His eyes were still on the building and he took a few steps towards it. "I don't think so. It doesn't look like anyone's been here in some time. This place is basically rotting away. I wouldn’t be surprised if the city's got it slated for demotion. You should probably make use of the time its got left. Here,"
He wriggled the door handle a bit; it was locked, but it didn't seem like it was fixed too well. Age seemed to have worn it down a bit and he was certain that it wouldn’t take too much to jar it and get inside. "Do you want some help getting in?"

She nodded a she tilted her head, "Looks like it'd say if it was going to be torn down. I wish someone would get it and fix it up." She watched as he wiggled the door handle a bit.
"Um, sure?" She said as she watched him, "Might be safer for two of us anyways. Just in case there's some danger in there? I mean old buildings that haven't been entered in a while - - it's likely to be a bit rickety."
She tried to peek into the window to see what was in there. "Does the DMC have ranks? Or what does it do?"

Remarque did not look at her when he answered her question; instead, he sharply turned and yanked the doorknob, intent of loosening something. The wood the doorknob was bolted to gave way with so much less effort than he thought he'd have to put into it. "Sort of," he replied. "It's more like we're just this big culmination of people with similar interests, trying to reach a goal. We're interested in space expansion and trying to build another society out there. And in trying to break the rest of the Senshi from their ties to the White Moon before they screw themselves over."
He twisted the handle again, with similar strength; this time it physically dislodged. With a few more wriggles, there was a sharp click and he looked up. Hand still on the partially attached doorknob, he pulled it. The door opened to reveal a dark room, illuminated only by the light that filtered in between the boards covering the windows.
He gestured for her to let herself in and lingered by the now open door. "More or less we support free thinking and advanced space goals. What about you, what do you do?"

Hugbell squinted at Remarque a little bit, "Wait break their ties before they screw themselves over? What did I miss?" She seemed fairly unsure about what he was speaking of but one thing was for sure. She thought he might be a little crazy. It was probably the chaos talking though.
She watched as he easily broke in, well fairly easily after applying some force. She slid on in and pulled around the small backpack she was carrying to pull out a couple of flashlights and offer him one in case they needed it. IF only senshi had the ability to have night vision. "Branching out to space would be cool. I guess. Though I'd miss my family here. I mostly comfort people. I mean . . . after all I have a bear that grows fairly large."
She pulled Barnaby from subspace just to show him off, more or less. "When you have a power like that and you can use a stuffed animal for a chair. . . Well what else can you do?" She smiled softly, "Oh I make friends too! I don't care what side you're on, if you're friendly I'll be friends with you!"

Remarque tilted his head to look at the girl and seemed a bit thoughtful, though eventually just shrugged. "I guess that could come in handy." Not that a stuffed bear really seemed like it was the sort of thing to appeal to him, but hey—she was a little girl and that was probably something that made a lot of people feel better.
He was just more the sort to hit something if he wasn't feeling so well.
"You should just be careful with who you make friends with. I'm sure there are a lot of senshi out there who would chastise you for trying to talk to me." He didn't seem offended, just sort of exasperated with the notion. He made no effort to conceal the scoff that fell from the lips or the way his eyes instinctively rolled. "As if I was going to gain anything by attacking you. Please. That's the thing that gets me most. That they've decided just because we're different that we must be innately bad. Getting into space isn't such an awful goal, is it? It's not like NASA isn't doing it. We're just doing it a little…differently. Of course," he admitted, "As much as I do want to get into space, I don't want to leave Earth. Not for good. I've got too many friends down here. Too much of a life down here. But branching out never hurt anyone, did it?"
He didn't seem to be expecting an answer and instead just looked back down at the chibi. "So why are you so eager to be friends with everyone?"

Hugbell paused, "Well if you ever find your self falling you'll understand how handy he can be." He seemed to ignore her questions though and the child shrugged.
"Psh, I hear that so much. I understand the problem, and what happens when you run into those that don't like you. I mean after all I had one Negaverse agent try to kill me. Granted he was kind of crazy at that point because of things that happened. I can't really blame him for it when he wasn't thinking right."
She seemed to have come to accept the terms. "Mostly everyone's pretty friendly and probably worried what happens when I become a fully fledged senshi."
"No branching out doesn't, it might be useful if one day the earth no longer can exist because of pollution or whatever could cause it to die." She shrugged, "I still think it maybe weird, and they're still telling us in school that life on other planets doesn't exist when it very clearly has at one point or another."
She paused when she reached the old counter and he asked her why she was so eager to be friends. "Without friends where would you be? If people realize I'm friendly now and don't want to hurt them but help, it's a lot different. This war or whatever it is isn't going to end by us constantly fighting each other or the bigger "grown ups" protecting me, they're just causing more reasons for the others to hate us."
She peered around and cleaned off the display glass. ". . . things don't always work when you fight to settle the differences. I may not be that old - only a child as you see me, but I've seen enough to realize if we keep fighting everyone's going to end up losing. Work together and we might be able to do something good or come to terms that won't keep hurting people and causing so much damage and destruction, keep a balance so to speak."
She glanced back to Remarque, "You'd be surprised how willing the negaverse is to talk to a kid because we're so young they don't think we should be in the fight either. Verses most of the time, attacking the older crowd. They're not always as bad and as mean as they pretend to be. Though your teammates I haven't met enough of to determine what you're about." She paused, "Though I assume the same as the rest. Kids shouldn't be fighting, you all have a goal to accomplish, and will fight us if you feel you have to in order to reach it."
Hugbell moved around the case to see if it was unlocked, "Basically, everything everyone else does but . . . no one I've ever actually asked can ever really explain their true reason for being. Why are we here in the first place? There's a reason but it hasn't ever fully been explained to any one person it seems. Maybe somewhere in far off space someone knows something. . ."

"Working together doesn't sound like so bad a plan," Remarque replied, watching the girl intently. She seemed to be fairly intelligent for her age; something he could appreciate. He wasn't necessarily the biggest fan of kids, if only because he usually found that he couldn't understand their erratic, spontaneous ways of thinking and all that energy.
But this one seemed okay, all things considered.
"I think I like you, Hugbell. I hope the rest of the senshi can adopt your ideas. I admit, it's disappointing to see so many senshi who punch first, ask questions later. But I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that the senshi of comfort would have such...comforting words. I don't think many members of my Court, if any, would have the drive to attack you."
...Most of the Dark Mirror Court consisted of women with big hearts, anyway. He couldn't think of anyone that would have used their full power on a chibi. It just didn't seem fair.
He would rather make allies with them while they were unpolluted by the hatred of the Older Senshi.
"I'd like to spend more time with you. Give you a better idea of what the Dark Mirror Court is all about. If you'd allow it. I can bribe you with sweets if you need incentive?"

Hugbell nodded, as she managed to pull the door open on the counter and start rooting around. inside of it. "Working together is always a good option." She said, "It gets things done easier."
She paused as he said he thought he liked her, her eyes peered back over the glass counter up. "It's going to be hard work, but I plan on at least trying to talk sense into them, and keep the younger senshi from being quite as.... influenced to punch first. Though Youma are really the only thing I go after. They're generally difficult to tame from what I've seen."
She chuckled, "Well it's good to know they wouldn't want to attack me either. It's nice to know there's sensible people out there."
She nodded when he said he wanted to spend more time with her, "Well of course, it's good to learn new things. I think that also deals with some issues - that people like to hate things they don't understand."
She paused, "Sweets are nice but aren't necessary, new friends are good enough!" She smiled as she pulled out a small cardboard cut out advertising piece looking at it, "Look how awesome this is!" She said holding it up for him to look at it. It was a cute old piece of candy advertisement for a Hershey bar.

Remarque faltered, because he hardly thought the cardboard cut out was cute, but he smiled for the senshi.
"If you like it so much, you should take it home with you. And," he looked around. "Anything else you want, probably. I doubt anyone's going to miss it. Half of this is covered in dust. Though," he glanced back at the door. "I suppose I should be heading out, soon. I doubt anyone would give a cute little thing like you trouble for breaking an entering, but it doesn't look like there's a mirror nearby, so I'm a bit out of luck. And," he glanced back to her.
"Candy's not exactly my thing, anyway. But I had fun. We should do something like this again."

Hugbell tilted her head a little at the Dark mirror, she nodded, "I think you're right." She sighed softly, "Maybe I can say I saw a cat stuck in here if anything and it ran."
She doubt they'd take much time to look to see if there were cat paws in the dust.
She paused as he said he'd need to be heading out soon. "Oh, Huh probably. I'm surprised there's not a mirror... which being an old candy store I guess they don't need one. . . "
There was a small frown as he said Candy wasn't his thing, "Maybe next time we can do something your interested in!" She added as she picked up a few other advertising pieces and an old tin box shaking it curiously.
