No one was certain where Richard had gone, or how long he would be gone, but that would only make the task ahead of them all the more perilous. While Daran Moreau wasn't quite a betting man, at least not to the extent that his brother was, he was still eager for a challenge every one and awhile, and getting their rigged 'surprise' past the two dogs would have been trouble enough, the very idea of there being a time limit really pushed it to the limit. Which Richard, he could be gone somewhere between a few days, to a few minutes...
There was a phrase that Horatio would have used to describe the only course of action.
"Gotta go fast!"
Which meant that now he was waiting for his cohort to arrive. There was only so much that he could have done at the moment, as if he hadn't already looked suspicious enough, standing outside of his brother's apartment, with something very large and bulky hiding beneath a sheet. His arms were crossed, shades were on despite being indoors, and he looked up and down the hallway, looking for either a certain red-head (in which case, his perfect scheme was ruined), or a saucy brunette. It wasn't often that he found himself looking forward to a lady's company, but for Cherry, he'd make an exception.
He needed someone to distract the hellhounds while he set up the surprise!Graceangel Figured we could do this one the normal way. I'll get the Buddy/Pie Rift one started when I get home!

Yeah. She had been running a little bit behind. She had meant to be there a little bit earlier, but life had been really busy lately. She waltzed up in a nice casual summer outfit. It was probably bordering on barely questionably modest. The fact it kept all her stuff where it should be was dangerously precarious. Then again, that was what she always loved about the summer time. She could get away with wearing stuff with no judgement that she couldn't any other time of the year. She could walk around in bikini halter tops and daisy dukes. At worst, she got stares from old ladies.
She came up to a halt from that confident stride next to Daran. She had a plan. In fact, she started her plan a few days ago. She had showed up after about nearly two months of being on the down low. In fact, her low profile trail had been so effective; hardly anyone who knew her had seen or heard high nor low of her at all for at least a good month.
When she had showed up with charming eyes, a smile, and something tasty in hand, it didn't take a lot of effort to borrow Richard's extra set of keys under a reason of possibly looking for a place to hide out at. After all, life had started to just really unravel. It might have not even been a total lie. And, what's more, she had already a previous acquaintance with the dogs. She took the keys, and she went in to greet the dogs. She was greeted by Dummy first. And, Cherry spared not a single rub of the head or little baby goo talk for her. Then, she started looking for their leashes. Then, the scooper supplies. She grabbed a list of stuff to get just in case she needed to make Richard a dinner to make up for this. Just in the off chance that this prank possibly made him more than a little irate with her. Especially if he started putting two and two together. No telling what kind of reaction he might have. She had never known him while in the middle of such blatant shenanigans.
As she opened the door to leave the apartment, she grinned at Daran. "Ok. I'm gonna take these two for a walk. I'm gonna stop by the store. You have like... probably a good.... Mmmmm.. I'd say maybe... fifteen to twenty minutes. Be sure to lock the door behind you. Where should I meet you after I bring the dogs back home?"ChibiGingi sorry i was delayed. i was having a major personal crisis that broke my brain.

A regular man would have taken the time to appreciate the kind of confidence and beauty that Cherry had, and Daran was certain that this was what kept her on the top of his brother's call list. Daran took only a moment to look her over, arching an eyebrow with barely containted interest but making a conscious effort not to appear too interested, should she waste any more time trying to flirt. Maybe once they got this stuffed bear set in the shower he'd allow himself to succumb to human instincts and flirt a little, but only once there wasn't a bear in the hallway! Priorities.
He wasn't too surprised to see that Richard had given her a spare key, and that likely meant that she knew the security code to get in. Yes, Cherry was more than just a nice body with a pretty head on her shoulders... perhaps his brother had better taste in women than he first assumed? Daran kept this to himself, as she wasted no time with pleasantries and got straight to work. Did Richard find her, or did she find Richard? He was beginning to have his doubts... but he wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. Despite running late, she was prompt, proactive and to the point, and that was all that Daran could ask for right now.
He spoke over Dummy's excited yips, not envying her task in the least but not making an effort to mock her for it. "That should be plenty of enough time for me to set this up and get the camera configured. Assuming he doesn't randomly show up, we should be good. Be careful with those dogs- don't let them pull you 'round an' whatever you do, don't let go of the leash. Baldwin will come back, but Dummy? Might never come back..."
As for where to meet, he scratched his chin. "Uh, how about the lobby? Don't hang in plain sight, just in case he comes back. Don't want him getting suspicious."Graceangel It's alright! I understand completely. <3

The question of whether Richard found her or her him. That was rather interesting. She knew a handful of people who might all vouch for the fact the timing of her arriving in their lives. She just had a special knack for showing up when others didn't even realize they might need her. Then, when they weren't looking; they found themselves quite in need of her. When she wasn't around anymore, tears were heard around the world just about.
In fact, there were very few people who might even often believe without a shadow of a doubt that it was her who was always finding them. Though in her private time, she might have at times found it rather incredulous that she had only even just met Richard mere months before. Their compatible natures gave her a sentiment of feeling like he was someone she would have liked being in her life in exactly the capacity he much much longer.
When she finally got back with the dogs, she was happy to get them back home. She hadn't lost either of them, but Dummy had proved to be quite a challenge to walk that she just had clearly underestimated. Cherry felt relieved she hadn't worn anything that couldn't get ruined.
After locking them up with some food and water, she skidaddled on down to the lobby. Walking around, she slipped on a ball cap and sunglasses. It was totally a look of a movie star hiding from the paparazzi. She went to the corner of the lobby and leaned against a wall peering around for her cohort. Then, she wished that they had a bar or something like. She really wanted to have something to drink and kick back while watching this.
After a moment, her eyes caught the blue, and she started to wisp around the lobby the way she wisped around town late at night cloaked under her black sith lord cloak. Clearly, she was rather good at sneaking.
When she was close, she leaned against the wall. She tousled a strand of hair while slipping a hand on her hip. She was totally caught up in having a little mischief. She quietly whispered, "Man. I kept feeling like I might get busted walking those two around town. Or... walking back in. Were you able to get everything set up without too much trouble?"

When it came to accomplishing a task, the Moreau family could be extremely focused, very susceptible to tunnel vision, and until the task was done, nothing could get them to look away from their task until it was either done or they were physically torn away. In which case, one would learn never to pull Daran away unless they fancied themselves a black eye. Whatever Cherry was doing and whatever adventures she'd find herself in should Dummy's leash snap was hardly any of his concern, as his goal was to get this stuffed bear up the stairs and positioned safely and stealthily in the shower.
Thankfully there was no one who cared enough to poke their heads out and interfere, as the moment Cherry took the dogs and left, he got straight to work. His decision to make the base hollow may not have boded well for the creature's longevity, but it was a godsend when throwing it over his shoulders and hefting it up a flight of stairs. Some might have called it a waste of a perfectly good bear skin, but he could always remove it from the base and make a rug out of it later, so long as Richard didn't destroy it in his panicked state.
That thought alone was enough to get him through this trial, and he couldn't have been happier than when he finally moved the bear into position. By the time he heard Dummy's excited pants from the living room below, the bear was set up, and all he needed to do was check the video capture device. Thankfully it didn't fall deep within the 'skull', and after a quick test run, everything was in working order. They simply needed their victim to spring the trap...
That brought a smile to his face, as wicked and sinister as it may have sounded. Playing such a trick on his own brother was harsh, but he thought of it as a way to keep him on his toes, and everyone needed a good laugh. He closed the shower curtains and headed downstairs, surprised that Richard still wasn't there though grateful he didn't have to explain why he was in his bedroom. He offered Cherry a polite smile and unimaginably grateful that he had the easier task. "Yep. Good thing I had a black bear and not a grizzly, otherwise it wouldn't have fit. I have everything set up. They didn't give you too much trouble, did they?"Graceangel Gonna have Richard come in on the next post.

Cherry just leaned against a wall looking fairly nonplussed as they waited. While she spent plenty of time lurking around town watching people who had no idea they were being watched probably; she wasn't often very good with waiting when she knew she was really waiting on something. She started to fidget a little; a foot moving up to plant on the wall behind her before putting it back on the floor. Her hands moving up to twist her hair up into a bun that wasn't secured or tucked away.
When he asked about the dogs, a sheepish smile probably betrayed more struggle than she would readily admit. "Well, Baldwin was great. I guess I underestimated how hard it would be to not let her pull me around if she got to powering in a certain direction. It maybe took me by surprise a little bit at first. Lucky for me, I'm good at thinking on my feet. I had it handled. She just wanted to stop and smell and look at a lot of stuff. Had to piss on a ton of stuff."
Her eyes flicked him over. The more she was around him; the more she could start to see minor differences between him and Richard. She felt sure that Daran was probably hyper aware of every one of those. She wondered if it made him furious she had mistaken him for Richard. True.. the blue hair should have been a tall tale sign. Or.. not even just that it was blue. What about that it was long? Even when she knew Richard as Buddy; he still had his very short hair.
She tried to not check him out too much. She had been making an earnest attempt to keep things clean lately. Having been seeing someone regularly in her personal life was something new. Something different. She almost felt proud of herself for playing it so cool. What a shift that would seem to anyone who knew her that she wouldn't be trying to work him since the moment she got there.
She still thought in the back of her mind that if her current situation didn't pan out the way she hoped; the idea of possibly bedding both Moreau brothers at the same time wouldn't be such a bad venture. Could that even happen?
"Man. I guess he could be a while before he comes back. Where are we watching this from? Afterwards, are we busting in all like 'You just been punk'd!' or Are we just gonna let him have a full blown freak out. Then, we clean it up later? Or.. I guess I can clean it up later. But... when he sees a BEAR in there.. will he have assumed you did it?"

Daran listened to her talk, if it was even talking, in silence, not truly caring what exactly happened during Cherry's part of the plan so long as she and both dogs came back safe, and they weren't caught by Richard. Dummy's behavior wasn't anything new and he honestly felt that he had the easier job- carrying a stuffed bear up the stairs was far easier than trying to guide that over-eager b***h anywhere. "Well, she's a dog. That's to be expected. She also eats s**t, so don't accept any 'kisses'."
He never did. Not from Dummy, anyway. Baldwin was alright, but the other one? Lost cause, and Richard refused to lend her over so that he could properly train her. But both dogs were accounted for, and Cherry seemed no worse for wear, so that was where the extend of his concerns stopped. He wasn't sure why she kept looking at him and he was quick to think dubious thoughts, but he kept all of that to himself for now. Right now he was just too worried about them getting caught in the act to worry about what she might have been thinking about that the moment.
"It's recording now and I got a live feed going, so all we need is a place with good Wifi to watch." He motioned to his phone. "The guy I have connections with was really into the idea so it's probably going to go viral, so unless you want to be seen online by countless others, I'll recommend we let him have the full blow freak out. And don't worry, he'll know I'm the one who did it... what he doesn't know is that you'd have a hand in it."
He motioned towards the door, managing to get the security code punched in before hearing a familiar voice coming down the hallway, and he made a b-line for the area behind the sofa, reaching for Cherry to push her along. "OR we hide behind the couch because here he comes!"Richard Moreau was definitely on his way back to the apartment, rubbing his forehead against the growing migraine and wishing he hadn't gone out the night before. Where had he gone, one might ask? A party. With someone. It was a good party, the kind with caterers and a paid bartender, and one extremely sexy hostess that he may or may not have gone home with and did just about every position in the book that existed. He wanted to think that, yes, yes he did and he had the sores on his body to prove it, but his memory was a little blurry, as was his vision.
He wasn't even sure how he made his way back to the apartment, considering he had woken up with no idea where the hell he was, but like the geese that flew south, he stumbled his way home, using nothing but blind, ingrained instincts.
He had managed to get all the way up the stairs before tripping over his own feet, and he let out a loud 's**t' before grabbing onto the wall to catch himself. What a night! All he wanted was some painkillers and his bed... maybe a shower first, because the smell of sweat and alcohol permeating off his form was just too much right now.
"Shower... shower first. Then bed. Beeeeed."Graceangel I'm sorry that Daran is a jerk... :/

Well, s**t, s**t, s**t, and double s**t!!!! Cerise's eyes went to see the dogs up and moving. Richard's approached was signaled to her by his dogs getting excited to see him. At that moment, she face rippled with panic. She totally didn't want to be caught. Being pulled by the wrist, she reflexively followed and squatted down behind the couch.
She would have loved to tell Darran that uh. This is a really precarious place to hide. Immediately, her eyes were looking around to other good places to hide in the room. Then, she pressed an ear against the back of the couch listening for which way he was going. She had been in this apartment enough lately to know which way to go based on which way he went.
Hearing him say shower though, her head turned a little and grinned at Darran. What dumb luck! Her eyes looked at the twin next to her as she was trying to find a way to tell him as soon as he's in the bathroom; they should leave. Quickly. Like, they were gone ten minutes ago quickly. Then, they could skidaddle down to the bar. Or, across the street to a coffee shop.
Though for a moment, she had a brief moment of guilt. Hearing the way he was talking, she realized he was probably drunk. She liked Richard a lot despite the fact she was complicit in this little game. She sucked the inside of her lip as she decided in her heart to make up to him later.
Her body moved into position to be able to quickly move and run no matter what happened next. ChibiGingi eee wrote a tag wut x3 <3

Whether they knew it or not, the dogs were provided an excellent distraction from the two visitors that hide behind the couch, as Richard was completely and utterly clueless. Even when Daran's foot more or less extended and peeked out of one side, he was far too busy giving Baldwin and Dummy all of his love, as tarnished and hung over as he was. "Awwwww, did you miss me? Yesssss, you missed me, of course you did... I'm like... the sun to you little things! Give me all the kissies..."
And they did, or at least Dummy did. She never refrained from the kissies, and it never ceased to surprise him just how much her tongue managed to cover his entire face to reflect her love for him. Baldwin offered a lick to the chin but then tried to warn his master of the intruders, but to no avail. Richard shook his head and pulled him back to him, grabbing his collar and giving a needy tug. "Noooo, no, come back, come back... I need you to help me up the stairs, Baldwin. Pretty please... I need to wash off the scent of weed and hooker spit, pronto!"
The dog obeyed without question. Using both hounds to pull himself up, he began to make his way up the stairs, step by step, ignoring signs of intrusion and how Baldwin kept looking back at the couch from time to time. Eventually, they made it into the bedroom...Daran had suspected that the dogs would try to rat them out, but thankfully his brother was too hungover to pay Baldwin any mind. He didn't like to see his brother using the dogs in such a manner, considering both of them could have been find hunting dogs and their talents were utterly wasted on simply companionship. He managed to keep quiet, waiting in anticipation as those footsteps got further and further away.
The door to the master bedroom opened, then closed, and shortly after that, it was the bathroom door. He waited, and waited... then glanced to Cherry as though to see her reaction. "You think he-"
He never got to finish his sentence, as there came a terrified, high pitched scream, followed by the frantic barkings of two startled dogs, and Daran's careful mask faltered. He laughed, loudly, before slamming his hand over his mouth.
"He found it. Run!"

With her ear pressed against the sofa, and then her watching Baldwin's movements. She could feel him stare through her every time. She got along with the dogs well enough, but she had a feeling they knew when someone shouldn't be hiding like this. She wondered if he would remember and hold it against her should she be here more in the future.
She was breathing a sigh of relief and getting up to move out anyways. Then, she froze hearing Darran laugh. Her eyes went wide, and her mouth gaped a little. He didn't need to tell her twice. She was already moving towards the door. She quickly picked up speed. Her eyes ticked around with urgency. Her feet happy she had worn the right shoes for this.
Uhhh!!!! That last comment before they left. She gritted her teeth till they were out the door. Then, she was glaring at him deciding if she wanted to kick him in the shins or not.
"Way to broadcast.... " She kept feeling panicked. Would he figure out that she was the person Darran was talking to? Richard was pretty shrewd. When she felt they were at least out the door and outside of hearing distance, she gave in to the curiosity. "So.... are we gonna rewind and watch what just happened from the perspective of his face? Half of what just happened had to be in his expression."
She stood twitching with adrenaline coursing through her body. Like the momentum a roller coaster car picks through the climb and drop; her body rippled with trembling and a quick need to do something. She stared at Darran with another look of deciding whether to clobber him for possibly giving them away.

The mad flee from the apartment was done in a blur of incomprehensible motions and sounds, and Daran hadn't even considered if Cherry could keep up, or vice versa. They ran and ran and ran, all the while he listened for signs of anyone changing after them but never quite looking over his shoulder to confirm. If either of the dogs chased them down, there'd be no hope, but thus far, there were no hounds nipping at their heels and that was just fine with Daran. He wasn't used to being the hunted...
"Sorry... I don't often get to play a trick on my brother and not feel guilty about it," Daran confessed as they ran, an uncharacteristic smile on his face. He didn't smile often and meant it, so he hoped Cherry would bask in its glory and take that as a sign of good standings. "He's so easy to prank but he always gets so indignant and whiny about it! I couldn't help it..."
Her next question made him scoff, as they recreated into a nearby restaurant, hoping that if they did have pursuers that could lose them in there. Of course this would probably mean dining in, but he figured the two of them deserved a meal to celebrate their good efforts- he'd even be willing to pay. "Of course we are... why else would we have put a camera in there? We can even watch it over wine if you'd like... I think I got some left over from who knows how long ago. For now, I think we lost him... you hungry? My treat."Graceangel Going to call this an end for my peeps!

She couldn't take her eyes off of his smile for a moment. It felt so delightful; she found herself smiling as well. Despite that fact she had just three seconds ago been feeling perturbed; she started to forget all about it. Seeing this aspect of Darran suddenly made her feel like she might be party to future pranks. She put on her egotistical face as she played her nonchalant card. "I'll forgive you this time."
She couldn't help but enjoy his fantastic mood. Listening to his reasoning, she had a moment of deep sobriety. Another moment of watching other people with their siblings. What it must be like to have someone who is almost a lifelong friend like that. Deeper down, she could feel the chaos scratching at her loneliness. Her need to be around other people. "Yeah. Ok. That sounds like it'd be pretty irresistible." She conceded.
As they caught their breath in the restaurant, she continued to marvel at this change in demeanor. What playfulness! She liked that. He just rolled with the action. How fun. "Sure... Wine sounds great." She thought about eating. She wasn't sure, but she wasn't about to turn him down. She felt like one thing was for sure. She felt like she had made a friend. Whatever blunder she made in mistaking him for Richard at that first meeting might be wiped away. Whatever manner of friendship this was; this was clearly hallmarked with excitement and adventure. What more could she want.
