They had agreed to meet here again after that day in the rain. Taith had found her charming and intriguing enough to linger. He had shielded Yuuka from the rain with a wing as they headed for shelter, talking along the way. It seemed the interest was mutual and things developed from there. Still it was nothing serious, just fun. That was something else they had agreed on, along with meeting each other again tonight. It was late and the moon was high overhead but this time there wasn't a sign of rain in sight.

Taith was waiting at the appointed spot just before the appointed time. He preened his wing feathers a bit, though if asked why it wouldn't be because of the mare coming to see him. Hopefully nothing had held her up and she would be here soon.

She had watched the day go by lazily, doing her rounds and chores for the little herd she belonged to. They were peaceful and tended to keep to themselves, finding the secluded sort of lifestyle more to their liking. But Yuuka did not quite feel the same. She enjoyed the quiet life she had, but sometimes it was not enough. So as the sun began to set and the moon rolled along the sky, she went out to meet up with he stallion again.

He had been very sweet and though a little more flirty than she typically liked... he was enjoyable to talk win. And she craved something more social then her herd. As she approached their meeting place, a rare smile graced her face.there was Taith. Handsome and waiting for her.

"I hope I've not kept you waiting long?" She spoke lightly and joined him, giving the stallion a friendly nuzzle in greeting.

It was difficult to see the moon from under the cover of trees over head, but he had arrived early just in case and nibbled a bit on some of the local grass before setting to his feather preening. Thankfully for him, or moreso for his ego, the task was done shortly before she arrived. His ears perked and a playful expression crossed his face when she appeared. "Not at all." Really, she had nothing to worry about. Had some task with her herd kept her waiting he would have lingered for a while before even considering leaving. (He might have considered even going to find her had that been the case, but that seem a bit too serious for now.)

As for his manner, charming and flirty was what he did best. Taith returned the greeting nuzzle without any hesitation. "So what did this day bring you?" He figured much of the same as usual, by and large her life seemed to be pretty quiet. Too quiet for his liking, really, so it had become his quasi mission to break her from it occasionally to give her a taste of something else. "It is a nice enough night for a walk, if you like, no worries about being rained on."

Kyrieko
Blargh. Sorry. I had marked this as answered in my thread even though I apparently had not. O_o;

It was a strangely nice change seeing the wind-cerynei. Much different from the kirin she was with all day. Though her bloodline was mixed with kirin and unicorn, she had to admit that her kind tended to be... the same. Nothing ever seemed to change. Yet when it did, it was cataclysmic.

"I'm glad of that." She smiled, letting her elegant posture relax a bit in his company. "The day brought nothing exciting, I'm afraid. However the night seems to hold much more potential." A little sly smile was flashed up at Taith. Of that much, she could certainly expect if he was around! A nice change. "A walk would be most wonderful. And no, there certainly is no chance of being rained on." Yuuka looked up towards the sky, trying to peek through the tree line. Where the moon was bright and the sky was cloudless.

"Did the day bring you anything exciting?" She asked, letting him lead the way for their walk.

mistalina13
Ahahahah! Don't be sorry <3 I've done it before too... or just forgot I had a tag to make in general -coughs- >>;;

That was the answer Taith expected and while some would have had plans to remedy that he had nothing in mind that was concrete. He found it was often better to let things flow as they would, things of interest were bound to come up on their own. "Not much, other than the usual birds eye view for today. Mostly I was looking forward to this." Truth with perhaps a bit of flattery laced in. It was a nice night and it would be a shame to spend it alone.

"Shall we get going and see where the night takes us?" Yuuka seemed to be waiting for him, so he might as well take the lead. He started in a direction that had seemed promising from the air earlier in the day.

Yuuka walked delicately beside the stallion, finding herself wondering, not for the first time, what it was like to fly. He'd spoken before of loving it. The closest she could compare in her mind was the the rush of feeling she got when running as the wind ticked her hide. "I was looking forward to this as well." She smiled, ducking around a low hanging branch.

"You know, I find the night to be rather beautiful. Peaceful, like most things are with my herd, but... there is more." She loved the early hours of the night, when everything seemed to come alive again. And there were certainly plenty of things that came alive in the forest!

"I think," she said thoughtfully, gazing up at Taith. "That I will finally explore the forest a bit more. Venture away from the herd for a bit. What do you think?" She had been contemplating doing so for a few weeks now. But never actually made up her mind.

mistalina13
I am so sorry to make you wait this long for a reply! Things got a little busy.

If there were some way to share his wings with her he would, as she would probably enjoy flying a great deal. Alas, there was no way to do so. One could not change the stuff they were made of, at least outside of dreams and stories. "I would be quite disappointed if you weren't." Having a mare he was interested in grow tired of him so quickly was pretty high up on his list of worst nightmares. There were worse things, but not many, in his book.

"It is nice." Not as many other animals about, just the sounds of the forest around them - the trees, the light wind, water and small bugs and critters scurrying about. As it began to get darker a few fireflies appeared, their light flickered intermittently between the trees. When she mentioned possibly leaving her herd for a while, he was momentarily dumbfounded. And distracted on top of that, so much so that he ended up running into the low branch she ducked beneath. Thankfully, though not so much from his perspective, it was more a blow to his pride than damage to his antlers. Smooth. Bet she's really impressed now.

It took a few good shakes of his head to get his rack free and even then he still had a few leaves and twigs stuck in it. Taith tried to play it off as if he wasn't really bothered by it. Perhaps it would give Yuuka a laugh.

"Really? Can I ask what changed your mind?"

She tossed up a secretive smile at Taith. "Good thing that is not the case." Winking, Yuuka matched her step to his so they walked side by side with only the moon's light to guide their way. At least until his antlers caught on the branch she'd ducked under.

Blinking back over her shoulder, there was clear amusement in her eyes. But it was rude to laugh at someone in such a situation. So she refrained, waiting patiently until he freed himself. "Perhaps... I should let you duck under branches first?" The mare asked idly with a grin, waiting just long enough to be sure he wasn't actually hurt or anything. Then sighed softly, letting her gaze drift forward and settle on the fireflies twinkling around them.

"There are many things that have lead to my decision, but I guess one of the main ones would be.... you." She let that roll around his head a bit. "You see, my herd does not see very many outsiders because we tend to be more elusive. Meeting you has opened my eyes to realizing I'm missing more than I thought." Yuuka paused, looking around at the forest. "It's beautiful here, but I only know the mere tip of that beauty. I wish to explore it and see how lovely it truly is."

hi ilu have a tag |D
Also, were you still considering seeing how these two do beyond a fling? ouo
PostPosted: Fri Apr 03, 2015 11:51 pm

Well, at least she was amused.

The remaining leaves and twigs fell away while the echo of her answer did indeed roll around his head. Me? Taith tried his best not to let his surprise show overmuch. He cocked his head and shifted his wings a bit as they got going again. "There is a great wide world beyond these woods. I haven't even seen all of it myself...I'm not sure anyone could in a lifetime." That wasn't for lack of trying of course. The wind-cerynei had met many who spent their lives traveling zig-zagging paths across the lands. Some managed far better than others. "I certainly wouldn't be opposed to trying though...assuming you wouldn't mind the company of course."

He really hoped she wouldn't mind, at least that is what the little tickling voice at the back of his head said. Though he couldn't fathom why or where it had some from, it simply was. But that was a puzzle for a later time, right now Yuuka was here and she was more important. Little did he know that the cause of his little 'problem' was right in front of him.

"Is there anything in particular you have heard of in tales that you would like to see?"

Oh she certainly caught the hint of surprise in him, but she couldn't blame him. What she'd said was true though. Until she'd met Taith, the mare hadn't ventured beyond her herds boundaries much. Except to patrol and explore here and there. But when she was with the stallion, she was more willing to go out further. To see more.

"I've heard mention of the world being more than I can comprehend. Especially living so elusively." She added the last bit a little sadly. It was in her kin's nature, and she couldn't fault them. Nor had she been quite ready to lose the safety she felt from her herd. But there was a comfortable companionship she felt when around Taith. Or maybe it was something more? Yuuka wasn't even sure herself.

A rare and bright smile was her first response. "I'd not be opposed to that at all." She said warmly before it faded slightly into a look of consideration. "I've heard tales and rumors... of a great fire that struck. And a war before that? I'd like to see if these rumors are true." Yuuka said softly, really feeling the weight of just how ignorant she was becoming by living such an elusive life. "And the ocean. I want to see the ocean!"

mistalina13
Bahahaha! Poor Taith xD Now Yuuka is excited!
PostPosted: Sat Apr 18, 2015 8:04 pm

Taith appreciated the smile and tucked the sight of it away into his memory. "The fire is true enough, I saw it from above...just long enough to get ahead of it." He has obviously succeeded or he likely would not be standing here now. "It managed to spread far and do a lot of damage...even with the regrowth things won't be the same in some areas." At least now those places were relatively safe to travel through.

He paused, considering her next point. It seemed Yuuka wasn't alone in the gaps in her knowledge. "I can't say I've heard anything about a war, but don't count me as enough discard rumors. I don't hold ties to any herds, let alone larger ones who might participate in such things. If we ask those we come across on our travels perhaps someone might know."

"And I also can't say I've ever seen the ocean, but at least that I've heard tales of." The stallion chuckled and gave her a gentle nuzzle. "With ones like us in it, but with fins instead of feet. It seems strange...but not entirely impossible." He had seen more improbable things in his travels.

Yuuka's ears lowered a little as she glanced up at Taith. The fire was truth? Somehow, deep down, she was not fully surprised by this. She had felt like the land was hurting somewhere. But she had not known from what. "Thank the Guardians of the forest it did not reach here." She murmured, closing her eyes briefly to say a small prayer for those that had likely perished. "I hope the land is able to heal from such a fire." Her lips twitched. "And that you survived. Fire is a terrifying thing."

Well, at least one out of two rumors she heard the most whispers about was deemed fact. Maybe the war was not true? Perhaps others had been referring to this great fire that happened instead? "Nor do I." Yuuka said with a soft snort. "I guess that is something we'll just have to discover the truth about." She nodded in agreement at his mention of asking those they came across.

His gentle nuzzle was returned as her eyes lit up. Now that she had not heard of! "Really? Such creatures as us exist?" Well, if she thought about it, there were creatures such as Taith with wings. Was fins so far fetched? "Then it's settled! We should travel towards the ocean. And ask those we meet along the way of this war."

"I'm very glad it didn't reach here either and that I survived." Taith truly was, if for entirely selfish reasons. If he weren't so practiced a flyer then he might not be here now. No one he knew had been injured or killed in it, so far as he was aware, but there were some distant friends he had not seen in a very long time indeed. All he could do was hope that they, and their families, were well and whole.

"Sounds like a good plan to me." This was going to be a pleasant journey indeed, with her at his side. "Are there any preparations you need to make before we set out?" At the very least she should probably mention about leaving to someone, if she had not already. Lest her herd think of her as lost or dead once she was gone too long. In his mind it was better to leave on good terms, if it were possible, in case one wished to return one day. It was something he had not seen a lot of value in until fairly recently. Meeting Yuuka had caused something in him to shift, changing his views and his attitude about things. Before her he had been content with flirting, breaking hearts and burning proverbial bridges when he left sad, usually angry, mares (and who knew what else) behind.

Her lips twitched again, a small smile forming. What would it be like without the stallion? She certainly would not be considering leaving her herd, that was for sure. And that meant she'd simply continue to waste away slowly, hiding from everything else out in the world, not ever learning of what others were going through and suffering. Perhaps her herd's solitude was a blessing to some. Yuuka did not agree with it. It had been a comfort for her brother and herself while they healed from the trauma of their past. But now, she was ready to go back out in the world. To really heal.

Yuuka tilted her head thoughtfully, glancing in what seemed like a random direction, but she knew her herd was there. "I would need to let my brother know, and make sure he was alright if I leave. And the elder. I must get his permission to leave so that I may be welcomed back if I chose to return." All of which wouldn't take very long. She had nothing else except herself. "If you can spare me about a half hours time, I can get everything taken care of. And then we can set out while the moon is still full." Unless he didn't want to travel by night. "Or we can wait until first light?" She added, certain her herd would not mind Taith staying with them for the night.

Really, her herd would be most excited with the fact she was socializing with a stallion and showing interest in him! A thought that briefly made her cheeks feel warm. Her herd elder was always teasing her about finding some nice, handsome stallion to settle down with. "What would you like to do?" She asked, looking up at Taith.

Was gonna ask if you think one more post might be a good end to this RP? And we could start up another with them on the beginning of their travels? x3
