Dalanis was a stubborn stallion at times. He hardly left the safety of the lake unless he was on road to his family. He just liked being at home, something about traveling was just not for him. He was moving pretty slow across the trail he used from time to time. It was the longer rout then direct, but often more traveled. Though today he had not seen anyone else, it was unusual, but not unheard of.
Those eyes scanned around him slowly, the wings upon his back fluttering slightly. He could fly, just not far, or for very long. Comes with being a mix breed. He hated it at times, mostly when he wanted to fly around. He was also not able to change his size like some flutter, but that was just fine for him, Who wanted to be tiny anyway.
Dally had a lot on his mind that afternoon. He heard that his parents were expecting another group of baskets. This made him stop and think about starting a family of his own. He did not want to live alone forever, but at the same time he enjoyed the freedom that came with being by himself. He was to distracted to even notice he was nearing the river where he had to cross sides.

Splish. Splish. The mare giggled to herself as she dunked her newest toy in the shallows on the bank of the river, her spade tipped tail swishing back and forth as she did so. As usual, her 'toy' was a poor unfortunate deceased animal, this time a small, grey squirrel who she was having 'paddle' in the water.
A few more dunkings however and part of the slowly decaying little body drops away, leaving her frowning and upset. Her toys always did that to her, they were always disappointing her by breaking and she shook her head hard, flinging the tiny corpse away behind her to fall forgotten to the ground.
Ocelli scowled at her reflection in the moving water, and then her eye was caught by movement.
'Toooy.' she hissed softly to herself, looking intently at the shimmering scales and enticing movement as the fish swam amongst the reeds and rocks on the river bed. She splashed deeper in and was dismayed when her doing so caused the fish to speedily swim downriver. She stomped her hooves, soaking herself in the process, and it was then she saw the brightly hued butterfly Soquili.

The poor Flutter-corn had not noticed the mare at first, more mumbling random things to himself. He through finally stopped in his tracks at the splashing sound just off to his side. Ears pulled back as his head turned, eyes falling on the mare. He had not seen one of her kind before, then again he did not get out to much either.
The old tree for crossing the river was just up ahead, and though he was in a bit of a hurry, he would take a bit of time to just stop by and say hello. How little did he know the trouble that would await him. Ignorance is often bliss for some, but for Dally, it was always more trouble than anything.
Those hooves carried him up to the waters edge, wings flickering along his back as he cast his head low, though those eyes stayed on the mare. "Why hello there miss." He said in his almost charming tone. He held no fear, instead he was calm and confident in his words.

Ocelli curled her tongue around one of her tiny, but sharp canine teeth, a slow, wicked smile spreading across her dark face. She looked at him from under her mane, not with any sort of concern, though he carried a sharp horn on his head, she did not get any sense that he was a great threat to her, and she stepped boldly forwards, blood red eyes raking over him as she tallied what interest he could be to her..and for how long that interest would prevent her from attacking or even killing him.
'Wings..like a butterfly.' she said, mostly to herself more than him as she circled the stallion. She curled one of her bat-like wings around and flicked one of the claw tips at the fascinating wings.
'If they come off, can I put them on a toy? But first he has to be little..does he make himself small?' she tilted her head as she looked square in his face this time. Clearly that was actually a question meant for answering.

Dally almost stepped back as the mare approached but he held his ground, Horn lowered, bared against the sun, allowing it to shimmer over the golden color. Eyes watched the mare closely, turning his head to keep his eyes on her movements.
Something about her was interesting, but at the same time unnerving. As that claw tips came at him he flittered them, moving out of reach of her. He was a flutter-corn, rare, and he enjoyed those wings after all.
Her words made a brow rise. She was quite an odd one. He was not quite sure if she was addressing him but he answered anyways. "I can not shrink like most flutters." He stated as he moved around her this time, keeping out of her touch as he clamped those wings together along his back, catching light between them when he turned his side to it making the ground shimmer like light through a prism.
"Besides I am not sure these wings would be much use on anything other than me." He said with a smirk, his frame stopped before the sun, keeping that light shining through his wings and over that solid horn. He wondered just how likely she would try to come and get those wings, but at the same time, he did not want to find out.

Ocelli giggled as he moved his wings from her seeking claw-tip, and drew it back, folding her wings against her flanks. Despite the movement of his head, the showing of his horn, she still did not think of him as a threat in any way. He was too shiny for that.
She watched him move away and stepped in unison with him, drifting closer again.
'It cannot? Then my poor toys will not be able to fly..but maybe they could be pretty.' she said, in a slightly sibilant tone, thoughtful again. If she ripped them from him, would the shine stay long enough to be able to transfer somehow to a new toy? Maybe if she got a toy and could rub it on them whilst he still had his wings she could see if the shimmer was transferable.
'Silly shiny.' she chided him with a sinister smile and chuckle. 'I could show you what use they could be to me.' she leaned right into him and then straightened, flicking open her wings.
'Stay here! I'll show you my toy. You'll see, it needs the shimmer of your wings. It would make it a perfect toy..'
She stepped back from him, twisting her head about, ears twitching as she listened for the sounds of anything small and squishy in the immediate vicinity.

The poor stallion was a bit taken back about how little his show was taken heed. He relaxed, it was not that he was afraid, so much as he would rather keep those wings of his. He did not seem to afraid of her being so close, but to be slightly leaned against was a bit startling. It almost caught him off guard.
He was though a bit envious about her own wings. He was sure she could easily fly with them. What was it like to fly so high in the sky. He never got far from the ground and it had been some time since he even did that. It just took way to much energy.
Dally found himself staring at the mare for a moment, maybe just a little to much between that and thinking to even notice what she said. He shook himself free of thought and blinked at the mare for a moment. It took him nearly ten seconds for it to register what she said. Toy? He was wondering just what this was.
He though looked back at his wings, fluttering them before glancing at her once more. He had never really brushed his wings against anything but the accidental touch. The shimmering flaked easily rubbed off, and eventually returned if given the time.
Finally he found himself talking up. "Toy Miss?" He asked her. He did not move, other then a bit of twitch of wings, or a shuffle of hooves. He was not one to enjoy standing still for long. He heard just how evil some could be, but was the acts really evil, they kill, but even killing can be good in its own way. Had she killed another before he arrived?

She watched his shuffling movements, the flicker of the shimmering wings with a fixed and intense stare, before answering him.
'Yes, toy. You'll see..you stay, stay right here.' she tapped the ground with a hoof, her tail lashing a little as she said it. She unfurled her wings with a snap, pacing away from him and launched herself into the air. Spiralling away, she glanced for a moment, wondering if he would stay as she had ordered - if not, she would have great pleasure in hunting him down.
A few minutes later she was heading back. Luck had been on her side, and she'd surprised a rabbit leaving its warren. She had coldly snuffed out its little life, and after a moment where she lost herself in holding her new toy, enjoying the still warm and softness of its body, she had gathered herself and started on her return journey to where she had left the male, the body clamped in her mouth, swinging back and forth as she flew.

The poor stallion had never met a mare like this yet. He questioned what this toy was, and most of all he questioned her. Still, she was not all bad. At least he still had his wings. She could of just removed them and not asked. Though, when she requested him to stay, he realized that he would likely be late if he stayed, but at the same time, he would rather not test her on this.
As she flew away he found himself wondering how long he would have to wait, where was she going, and what was this toy. He waited a few minutes then started to pace back and forth. his ears flicked as those wings fluttered. He was not the happiest stallion at the moment.
When he finally saw her returning he squinted. It took her getting closer for him to finally realize what she had and as it... dead? he had expected something odd, just not a dead creature to be hanging there. then again, everyone got their thrills somewhere. He was where she left him, standing there looking at her, maybe a little slack jawed at this point.
Dally did not know where he stood on the idea of something dead rubbing against his wings. He was not all that into dead things. His tail flicked heavily as his front hooves shuffled slightly. Yeah, he was nervous at this point.

Ocelli didn't really pay attention to the expression that the stallion wore as she returned with her precious, new fluffy toy. Not that she would have thought anything of it, to her what she did was nothing out of the ordinary, and as she rarely spent time with anyone outside her own race she wasn't really aware that non-kalonas or non-predators were squeamish about death and killing.
After landing and folding her wings at her side once more, she lay the corpse on the ground gently, almost reverently. For a while, until she bored of them, or they 'betrayed' her by falling apart due to decay, they were precious, and she poured all her energy into caring, playing and carrying them around with her. She tucked and pulled the body carefully until it almost looked as if the rabbit were merely sleeping and then looked at the stallion.
'Isn't she lovely?' Ocelli cooed, her voice dreamy, but her pointy tail lashed behind her as she said it, pointing to danger if he dared disagree that her toy was not the best thing ever. 'Of course, she'll be lovelier still once dusted in sparkles..' she moved closer, a tiny pointed tooth hooked into her lower lip as she worked out whether to apply her toy to the wings or have him scrape off some of the glittering dust.

Poor Dally was speechless. He literately had nothing to say. he looked at the poor lifeless body and swallowed hard. His head spun for a moment, if he was any weaker he might of fainted. Points for him. He stood strong, looking from the lifeless animal to the female.
He wondered if maybe she just did not know better or understand. Still, if he was a kalona, he likely would look at her actions as normal. Yeah, they were normal, he would be fine. He shook his head, almost missing her question. he only smiled at the mare with his charming smile. If there was one thing he had a lot of, it was charm. "She is... quite lovely. You know how to pick them."
Yep, he would be fine, though the thought about touching the creature still made his stomach turn. He was not good with death. He cleared his throat and turned his side to her. those wings were displayed, stretching them out, making them shimmer once more. "You know, I bet you would look lovely with a flutter of sprinkles as well." He joked quietly.

The stallion watched her, then glanced at the dead creature. Apparently his charm was not working. So, this was what it was coming down to, rubbing his wing on dead things to keep from likely becoming a snack, or wounded... or most likely a large toy. His mind ran over that a few times before he shook his head and cleared his throat.
He stretched out those wings, his head held high. he was not going to run like a scared foal. "Lets get it over with then and I will be on my way." He said to her. Hose wings fluttered slightly, the way they were stretched made glittering orange light shimmer along the ground. If he had happened on her a while earlier he likely would of ran, or even lost what lunch he had on the go.
Dally kept thinking to himself 'do it for the family.' He was once more thinking on the foals that were coming. He had not seen his parents in a while, not since he went to find himself, so it would be a happy reunion to see them once again, along with all his siblings. That dreamy look appeared in his eyes as he thought about the family and home.

She could tell his was nervy, despite his best efforts and she gave a little sly smile, her eyes drifting from his wings to the rabbit toy and then back to his wings again. Hmmm..she was about to pick up the corpse when she heard his words and laughed at that notion.
'On your way? Where do you think you are going?' she asked, her pointed tail tip swishing like an agitated cats would, the one eye that was covered by her mane fixed a hard stare at the flutter stallion.
'You'll leave when I say you can..or you'll leave just your wings behind. Which will it be my sparkly toy?' she said, her voice low as she stepped right up to him. A slash here, a bite there, she could do enough damage to prevent him from leaving if she wanted to, but she wished to keep him intact. Blood would make a mess after all. Blood and glitter, blood and glitter.
'No no...no blood with the shiny. Don't make me bleed you..'
