Satu swelled with pride as she sauntered down the grass near Pride rock. She had just come back from a meeting of sorts regarding her position in the pride. It seemed her storytelling prowess was spreading now she had begun to tell her tales to many of the cubs in the pride. It was official, she was a storyteller, and had achieved her goal! Now she just had to work on being the best storyteller she could be.
The lioness thought about Tai for a moment and a sad feeling hit her stomach, but she knew the old storyteller would be proud. This was a momentous occasion.
She felt a little dizzy as she wandered among creatures, some familiar, some not. There was one lion in particular she was looking for.
Satu didn't remember ever feeling this happy, this elated, and she needed to share it with the lion who had helped her to be more confident and to share her stories again. In fact, he was the lion who was on her mind most of the time.

Ishiwa was padding along under the bright sunlight, enjoying the day and the soft grass under his feet. Some lions did not like walking on the grass, and other preferred different, softer textures, but this was all he knew, and it was really all he wanted. He loved his home, that was for sure, but more than that, he was learning to love the things and friends he had inside that pride.
When he saw Satu, his eyes lit up and he had to stop himself from charging over to her. He still bounced in her direction at a half gallop, slowing down when he was closer and swinging his tail behind him out of excitement more than anything else.
Maybe a small amount of nervousness.
"Satu! How are you today? You look really good! I mean happy! I mean... how are you doing?" He smiled as he hid his embarrassment and the sudden rush of awkwardness. She was his friend! What did he have to be nervous about?

The pale lion had managed to find her before she had managed to find him, despite her best efforts. Satu admired his bumbling happiness and found herself beaming as he greeted her.
Without hesitation she moved forward to embrace him gently. He did not know how important he had been to her - she had managed to overcome her fears and to become more confident again. Satu felt like a cub in that respect, full of joy, wonder, and with nothing to hold her down now.
She was fizzing up inside and bouncing on the spot as she squeaked at Ishiwa.
"I made Storyteller!"

Ishiwa blushed under his fur but his upbeat attitude and bright eyed look did not falter for a second. he beamed at her and met her with an affectionate rub, chuckling as he watched her bouncing and looking like she was ready to burst out of her own fur coat. He could almost guess what had her so excited, but he did not want to ruin it by doing so.
He wanted her to tell him.
When she did, he returned her bouncing with his own, doing a broader circle around her as he bounced on his paws. He was not quite as light on his paws, of course, and dust poofed up around his paws each time they collided with the ground with a soft thud, but he did not let the fact that he was a grown male lion stop him from sharing in her happiness.
"Congratulations! I knew you could do it! And you're going to be so good at it, I just know it! I cannot wait to hear everyone talking about your stories! It's going to be great!"

His excitement wound her up even more - for the better, and her eyes widened with a giggle. "I am so excited, it's all I've ever wanted!" Satu gushed, thinking of all the stories she could share and all the fun she would have with the cubs- and adults in the pride.
She was so pleased that Ishiwa shared her happiness, he truly was a happy soul and it was refreshing to know someone who was so comfortable with showing their excitement. Not all males were the same.
Stopping for a moment, her face curled into a wide smile, a more serious look lighting her eyes.
"I couldn't have done it without you. I really couldn't. I will always be grateful." She held his gaze for a moment.

"I'm sure it's not all you ever wanted, it's never that easy! But I know you'll find more and I hope you get that too! I'm so glad you did get this, though, I know how much you wanted it!"
He smiled at her and felt a little awkward as she calmed to look at him, blushing under his fur.
"Oh, I didn't do much but listen, and any good story teller will have lions who do that. I'm just glad you let me hear. Really, I should be thanking you for the chance! You could have done this, no matter what, of that I'm sure. Because you're talented, and you had the drive. You should be very proud of yourself!"
He shuffled his paws a bit.
"I'm very proud of you. I just hope this doesn't mean we'll see less of each other."

Satu found his first comment to be quite wise, and it suddenly threw her into another pool of thought, surprised. Not that she was surprised that he could be wise of course, she knew he wasn't a dopey male, as clumsy as he was.
It was everything she had wanted so far, indeed, but what else did she want? Now she had achieved this she had certainly got to have another goal in mind. She could think of a few, far off and not at the forefront of her mind as of yet. For now, she would take solace in her happiness at what had happened.
See less of each other? Oh no, she certainly hoped not, and so did he, which eased her mind a little. For some reason she had entertained the fear that he had got into helping her and found no escape, but he was too genuine for that.
"I certainly hope not, I do enjoy spending time with you, and we can find lots of other things to do, as well!" She had felt bad for all their time focusing on storytelling. It was time to do something fun for him! "You're the nicest lion I've ever met." She grinned at him. "Let's go do something to celebrate?" The lioness suggested.

"Well, I'm glad you think so! I don't think I'm nicer than anyone else, but you deserve to meet nice lions! I'm happy to be able to be one of them, at least!" He smiled at her, the type of lion who would always think others were better, or at least let them think that. He was not the kind to be prideful or boastful, and if it made others feel better to know how good they were at something, he would certainly tell them.
He was just an honest, unselfish sort, though he was beginning to feel a little selfish for wanting to spend so much time with Satu, knowing as he did that now she had an important job to do. Something she had been working very hard to do for herself and for the pride.
He did not want to impede her progress, but he also did not want to lose the little place he had made for himself in her life. He liked being around her.
A lot.
"Celebrate, yes! What would you like to do? I could catch you something nice to eat! Or try, anyway." Maybe something harder or rarer, that would be nice, "or we could go find a nice place to relax!"

"That sounds lovely...What about... Both?" She suggested chirpily. Se knew that the butterflies in her stomach from the excitement of the day would take a while to settle, though she doubted they ever would. They seemed to multiply when she looked at Ishiwa. Maybe it was because he had helped her so much? That must be it, yes. "I can help you with the hunting though, if you like." She certainly didn't want the poor male to do all the work, though it was a nice gesture if he wanted to. Some males wanted to do things on their own and didn't want the help of females sometimes, and that was okay too.
"We could get some food and then relax, eating makes me tired most of the time anyway. I don't know why that is" She was just babbling on uselessly now, her soft voice trailing off into nothing, until her wide eyes were just blinking at her friend.Lithiasaur Sorry, I thought I'd tagged this D:

"I would like that," he said gently, watching her with his warm, gentle eyes, but there was more to it than that. He was very fond of her, and he knew it, so being able to spend as much time with her as possible was really appealing to him. He was glad she went for the idea.
"I would like that very much."
Her help with the hunting, her being near him. Everything. He smiled at her and felt his stomach fill with butterflies.
Taking a risk, he moved toward her and gave her a warm cuddle, nuzzling his head and big puffy mane against her neck. He was very happy to be near her, and just wanted her to know that he... well. He felt more than he could say, and he was hoping he was not making a fool of himself by trying to show her.
But even if he was, he felt like it was the right thing to do.
