Clear sky, cool breeze, the warmth of the sun still lingering even as it set — today had been a good day. Ilian clutched tightly to the folder that contained his sheet music, having just finished a recital that had been set to not only present each pianist’s hard work, but to also encourage them to do better, to see how others of their age group were doing, showcasing the progression of their peers. The performances had carried on longer than expected, but it was nothing Ilian could complain about. Music was his life, and even being able to play the piano in any capacity filled whatever void he had in his life.

“Thanks for coming,” Ilian heard his older brother Sorin say to Jericho as they made their way down the sidewalk away from the concert hall. “I’m sure you had better things to do tonight.” Sorin was right, Ilian realized, frowning slightly and clutching tighter to his folder.

“It’s okay if you hadn’t,” Ilian huffed, as close to a ‘thank you’ as he could muster at the moment. He would have thanked Jericho in his own time, had Sorin not done it for him.

Sorin didn’t seem too upset about it, shrugging and jerking a thumb over his shoulder. “At least you had someone to come hear you,” he announced loudly, before both he and Ilian turned to see if Lovely Belrose was still following them. “You could walk with us, you know,” Sorin offered, a wide grin of amusement on his face.

“Your brother didn’t show up?” Ilian wondered out loud, only just then realizing that anyone had been following them in the first place. He shot Jericho a sideways glance, having told him before of Lovely’s snobbish behavior, although at least he was kind enough to lend Ilian one of his extra suits that he was glad he could fit into (although he was certain Lovely had longer legs than he did).

Coming from the concert hall back to the dwindling natural light made the teen pause and squint as his eyes adjusted to the lighting changes. For a moment, he followed blurry shapes, until they solidified into Ilian up ahead, and Sorin not far from him. Pupils properly adjusted, combat boots thunking against the sidewalk, the teen shrugged in momentary response. "It was that or staying for dinner with a cop," he finally said, giving a slight, dry laugh at the end. It wasn't that he had issues with Officer Harper--just the opposite--but him visiting his sister and brother-in-law always made Jericho tense. Wondering when the inevitable how are you? really? questions would start up. Sometimes they did, sometimes they didn't. Given the choice that evening, he was happy to pick listening to a bunch of kids butcher already wince-worthy classical pieces, over the potential awkward conversations.

Ilian's words drifted back, and Jericho gave a snort, picking up the pace a bit as he rolled up the cuffs of the button up Melinda had recently bought him. Minus the boots, he was dressed nicer for the evening--he hadn't seen the point, but she'd convinced him it was being nice to Ilian to not look like he'd "rolled out of bed" before heading over. His hand landed with intentional force on Ilian's shoulder, a small smile moving across his face. "I still prefer your version of the pieces. But you did good. I didn't feel like I needed headphones... unlike some other performances."

That Sorin chose that moment to point out the blonde, Jericho would have been willing to point out was not at all a coincidence. Maybe. He turned with the others to peer back at the other teen. It didn't bother him if he walked with them--though somehow, he had the sense they weren't going in the same direction for long. Catching Ilian's glance, he gave a silent shrug. Lovely hadn't slighted Jericho yet that night--so far as he was aware anyways--so wasn't any skin off his back. "Is your place far from here? Or do you need to call someone?" He knew nothing about Lovely's life, but the fact of the matter was, he knew where Sorin and Ilian were heading. The other kid? Not so much. Judging by Ilian's question though, well. Sucked to have a ride ditch.

Though. If Lovely whined about walking more than a block, then he'd have some issues.

Lovett Leigh Belrose—heretofore known as Lovely—did not need concern, or compassion, or sympathy from anyone.

What he needed was a ride.

He thought longingly of a time in the not-too-distant future when he would be able to see to such matters himself. For now, however, he was but fifteen, and nine months away from that glorious moment that was acquiring one's driver's license—and with it the freedom to make his own way. Until then he had no one to rely on but his mother (notoriously unreliable as she was), his oldest brother (a distant figure, both literally and metaphorically), and his second brother (whose fault it was that Lovely found himself in this predicament to begin with).

Lovely cared less that he'd had no one to support him at the recital and more that he now had to rely on crowded public transportation to get him home. He smouldered moodily, glaring at the group of three in front of him as he sent a harsh series of texts to his brother. He followed Ilian Jones and the other two vaguely recognizable figures not because he expected them to be able to offer any assistance (as none of them seemed to have access to a vehicle either) but because he still didn't quite know his way even after six months of getting lost going to and from such places as Azure Valley and the recital hall on his own.

Frustrated, Lovely gnashed his teeth together as their voices drifted back to him.

“Your commentary is neither necessary nor appreciated,” he spat as primly as it was possible to spit anything. “It's also none of your business, so if you know what's good for you you'll all shut your mouths.”

He supposed it was rather sad that Ilian Jones was the closest thing to a friend he had in this hellhole that was Destiny City.

The sudden heavy pat to Ilian’s shoulder had him stumbling just slightly, and he looked up at Jericho in confusion before allowing himself a small grin. “Next time I’ll throw some more modern stuff in for you,” he promised, before giving his friend a sideways glance in response to Lovely’s response, as if to say “see what I mean”. Even though Lovely was telling them off, Ilian didn’t take it to heart — he’d known the other teen for only a few months, interacting primarily when they ran into each other before and after piano lessons. It wasn’t as if they were good friends, definitely not like he considered Jericho to be, but despite Lovely’s attitude, Ilian didn’t mind him or his company.

Still, he frowned and turned to face the direction they were headed, figuring it was best to leave the bratty teen alone. “Fine, be that way,” he grumbled, wondering if that guy’s problem was anything more than just feeling jaded and bitter.

“You could just have your brother pick you up at our place,” Sorin suggested with a shrug, turning to face forward as well, although Ilian knew Sorin doubted Lovely would take him up on that offer. It was probably quite obvious that they had very little to their name and not likely people Lovely would spend time around. “Ilian still has to give you back your clothes, right?” he tried, wondering if that might be a little more incentive to not creep behind them.

If Lovely did intend on following them, it would be through a rougher area than he was probably used to. Nothing that Ilian, Sorin, or even Jericho weren’t used to, but for someone so upperclass like Lovely…? It might be enough to scare him.

And while Sorin didn’t look scared, he did seem to be wary as they made their way towards their normal shortcut home. The route involved passing by an abandoned car factory — it had been boarded up for years, a chainlink fence around the perimeter to keep anyone from getting in to vandalize it more than it already had been. Even still, it wasn’t uncommon for teenagers to sneak in and explore.

Well that thought of not being slighted by Belrose didn't last spectacularly long. The kid's gnashing response to their attempts at conversation earned nothing less than a furrowed brow and distasteful curve of his lips. Sorin might have been teasing a little rough with how he'd first drawn attention to the blonde, and for all he knew Ilian pointing out the brother hadn't shown up had hit a nerve. He cut a glance to Ilian, keeping his expression sour as he bit out a simple, "He's your friend." He's your problem, deal with it was the direct translation of his words. Ilian was wearing a suit borrowed from Belrose, it seemed, and he couldn't keep from rolling his eyes as Sorin offered for him to accompany them to their place, least to get the suit back. "I think he could replace it."

Jericho wasn't the best of sports. He really wasn't. "Keep snapping at us like that, kid, and by all means let's see how people who live around here take to it." He almost hoped the snob followed them. Maybe they'd get lucky and he'd freak at a seeing a stray cat. Still. He was a tad sore over that "shut your mouths" comment. Or what? It was a sardonic smile that was tossed Belrose's way. He shoved his hands into his pockets, feeling not an ounce of shame for his words. It was the truth, after all. What could the kid do? Throwing cash at someone around here wouldn't be a good idea--never mind the area they were going to be walking through. No, Jericho was no stranger to the area. It was part of why he'd moved up to walking beside Ilian. He looked back towards Sorin, taking in the older teen's look with a wary note of his own. "Any trouble recently? Or just cautious?"

Really, a part of him was wondering if they were asking for it dressing up and walking through this part of the city. Another was pleased he'd worn his heavy boots.

Lovely was by no means afraid, nor was he intimidated by Jericho's snide responses and insinuations as to the roughness of the area of town they now found themselves in.

It wasn't an area Lovely was used to, of course. Neither was it an area he knew his way around. But it hardly concerned him. He was perhaps a bit overconfident and didn't always consider the circumstances or the consequences that followed. He saw no difference between wandering through this area of town and the sections he was more familiar with, except that the buildings seemed older and more rundown, and the general atmosphere was quite... poor.

People of lesser means lived in there parts, naturally. Thugs and hoodlums and gang members and the sorts of people that ended up with their mug shots plastered all over the evening news.

Lovely thought himself both superior and invulnerable, and changed the pace of his steps to march more confidently behind the other three, holding his head at an imperious angle and tossing his long bangs out of his eyes.

“You can keep the suit,” he said. It would be difficult for them to distinguish his tone; either he couldn't bear the thought of wearing the suit after Ilian had done so, or he was showing a bit of prideful generosity.

Jericho's comments went without a response. Lovely simply glared at him and considered the merits of beating his face in, grumbling under his breath about punk a** thugs and their futures in prison.

The parts of town that were less wealthy, less clean and crisp and perfect, were the parts of town that Sailor Penthesilea considered her own. And when she ran across Negas in her part of town, well, she took it a bit personally. That was why she was on the heels of a corrupt Senshi - one she actually knew, from the little White Phoenix escapade.

It wasn't in her nature to regret things, generally, but she regretted the hell out of that. She felt dirty, sometimes, for having worked with the Negaverse, and the strange almost pleasantness of her relationship with Lellouch only made that worse. It meant that she sort of overcompensated, which given how vicious she usually was, was really saying something.

"Why don'tcha turn around an' fight, ya coward?" She shouted. "Or are ya just as useless as ya look?"

She knew there were civilians around, but until one of them interfered, she really did not care.

Someday she was gonna learn. Learn that not everyone put up with her flirtatious ways. And that not everyone from the White Moon Kingdom would give her half a second. So for whatever reason Penthesilea had, Azurite was grateful.

Even if the little brat was now chasing her half way clean across the city.

"Coward? Pft. Please." Azurite laughed. Actually laughed. "You and I both know you're just chasing me around because you want more cookies. Need to get both hands on the cookie jar, don't we? What's the matter sugar. Was one not enough for you?" Again she laughed, this time twisting just enough around to blow the gingered woman a kiss as she ducked around a corner.

She'd hafta keep 'Sugar' away from the Civillians. Didn't need any more pesky Order senshi running around. That shouldn't be too hard right?
