Shiori Kozu

Female
Age:
Race:
Shinigami
Affiliation:
Gotei 13
Position/Rank:
Fourth Division Captain
Fears: ((Minimum of 1 well-developed crippling fear that may affect a character's performance.))
Personality:
On the outside, Shiori is a very calm individual. Pretty and fair, she looks the part of gentle healer. Usually, a faint smile is painted across her dainty face. When in Soul Society, she does not wear the Shinigami uniform because she thinks black is too depressing. However, despite her kindness, she seems to constantly have hidden motivations. Almost untrustworthy, however she is mostly without hidden drive.
History:
Shiori was born to a Buddhist priest in Kyoto. Her father taught her to follow his ways, to live a proper life. She was a good child, and mastered in the Buddhist ways as well as learning a thing or two about healing remedies from various friends of her father. Like any other child, she went to school and did fairly well in her courses. All her teachers adored her, but she was no teachers pets. Even the other students were fond of her, and she became quite popular without fitting into the usual "popular" connotation. And though she spent time with friends after school, she always had time to spend at the temple and making various remedies out of plants. However, unlike other children, at seventeen Shiori fell deathly ill. Her father tried everything he knew to heal her, but despite his best efforts she did not get better. In midsummer, death was nearly upon her. She whispered to her father that this experience would make her stronger, that it was not all so bad. Shortly after, she passed away.
And was reborn into Soul Society. It was not difficult for her to find her way in Soul Society as she had in the World of the Living. There were still plants for her to use here. One day, when she was gathering ingredients for the injured in Rukongai, she met a member of the Fourth Division who was impressed with her proficiency for healing. She was allowed to join the Shinigami Academy--in fact, she was pressured into joining the Shinigami Academy despite her reluctance--and succeeded here as well. In the end, she graduated with high marks in all of her classes--except for History. The only reason Shiori did not graduate earlier was because she slept through every one of her history classes and is still quite unaware of any past events save the basics. With the nature of her Zanpakuto, she was placed into the Fourth Division.

Zanpakuto Information
Name: Doku Hana (毒花, Poison Flower)
Sealed Appearance: [x]
Release Command: "Free thyself to aid thine enemy, Doku Hana."
Shikai Appearance: A layer of bright green liquid coats the edge of the blade.
Shikai Power-Ups: The layer of liquid is a thin layer of what is almost a reverse-poison venom. Instead of hurting an enemy when ingested, the layer of poison seems to heal those who consume it. Overall, the Shikai lasts for ten [10] posts (measured by posts of the user) before returning to its original form.
Shikai Techniques/Abilities
- Healing Flower- When ingested, the venom heals most sicknesses (such as a fever, flu, et cetera). In addition, the Shikai heals most medium or minor wounds, including medium depth cuts, scratches, and bruises. Wounds are healed if the venom is dripped directly over or into the wound.
Burning Flower- While if the venom is consumed or dripped onto wounds it heals, if the blade cuts with the venom, it has quite the adverse effect. Should an enemy be cut by the blade of the shikai, they will receive half of the wounds absorbed by the shikai in that release cycle. These effects last for five [5] posts before they vanish. The five [5] posts continue regardless of whether or not the shikai reverts back to its unreleased state.
Bankai Status: Achieved
Bankai Name: Doku Hana: Saigo no Uta (毒花:最後の歌, Venom Flower: Last Song)
Bankai Appearance: The tanto transforms to a large flower, held in the palm of Shiori's hand. The flower is closed, until she blows gently and it opens into a great pink lotus.
Bankai Power-Ups: The Bankai releases a large flash of light, which knocks any who see the light unconscious. However, in knocking them unconscious it also releases the healing property of the venom and heals all of their wounds, be they enemy or friend. It can only be used once before reverting to the unreleased form.
Bankai Techniques/Abilities
- Lotus Flash- The flash of light knocks all who see the light out, which is basically anyone within about a forty foot range who is not blind. She cannot attack them while they are unconscious. Lasts for two [2] posts (measured by posts of the Captain)
Healing Lotus- At the same time, the Bankai releases a healing gas which heals all those who are unconscious's wounds. Wounds inflicted while they are unconscious will be healed as well. However, any wounds inflicted on those who are under the effects of the Bankai will be reflected on Shiori. If the user passes out, those under the effects of the Bankai will still wake up as normal.
Other Information
Shiori has an affinity for creating remedies, and has many remedies on her person for poisons and other non-wound related ailments.
