With new powers came the testing of new powers. Mintaka was easing into the physical aspects of being a upgraded senshi, jumping up from rooftops and landing on the ground with light steps. She didn't think she could pick up like super heavy objects or run as fast as the speed of light but she felt a little more airy.
Could be because her sphere was based of paper shapes, or it could be because she preferred flying high rather then physical strength.
And there was one person she knew would be okay with seeing the origami senshi still alive and kicking. Even if Chariklo was part of the DMC, Mintaka felt a large amount of respect and admiration for the chaos senshi. After all, Chariklo was the one that taught her to fight.
Now it was all about finding the Senshi of Seagulls that was the hard part. She thought of maybe calling Remarque on her cellphone and casually asking for his help but maybe that was abusing her cellphone rights with the prince.
Ah. Why hadn't she gotten Chariklo's number too...

With a sigh, Chariklo tapped the silver cuff on her ear, momentarily powering her scouter down. She'd been out all night hunting for brand new baby Dark Mirrors with no luck. She knew that there had to be some out there. Maybe they just weren't within her range. Or not powered up. Sighing again, the tall dark mirror senshi scrubbed wearily at her face as she sat on the edge of a rooftop.
Really, she knew that she should just go harvest some energy from the people still out and about. And she would. Later. Right now, she felt more like sitting and brooding. Absently, she reached up again to gently brush her fingertips across the scouter that the Black Mirror had given her when Bianca died. That such a useful tool had been provided after Chariklo had seen a recruit and friend die made her worry. It felt like she was being given a message. She only hoped that she was interpreting the message correctly.
It took the brush of an Order side aura against her senses to rouse her from her depression. Familiar, but much stronger than the last time she'd felt it. Feeling her lips curve into a grin, Chariklo stayed where she was. The aura's owner would doubtless find her soon enough.
And if Mintaka's aura felt about the same strength as Chariklo's own, that meant Princess Fussybutt was surviving and possibly even thriving. And that thought cheered Chariklo to no end.

Mintaka's thoughts were drawn away from Chariklo the second she felt Chaos tinge at her senses. It was all to familier though, as if she had felt the aura before. She could safely assume that it wasn't probably negaverse, since she had only met two or three of those fellows. Which left the dark mirror court.
And if it was the dark mirror court, it was probably either Canopus or...CHARIKLOOOOOOOOOO.
It's as if fate aligned Mintaka to meet her dark senshi mentor.
She followed to the aura, dropping in front of the Senshi of seagulls and gave the woman a peeved stare.
"I'm alive." She stated, cocking her head as the peeved look turned into a smile, "And stronger. Hello Lady Chariklo."Twilight Jaws omg miss fussybutt I can't even fklsjflkdsj

Chariklo managed for a bare moment to keep her face expressionless and stern as Mintaka appeared. But the peevish declaration of her state of being broke any semblance of control that the dark mirror had and she began to grin and chuckle delightedly. Rolling to her feet, Chariklo stood and reached out to grab the other girl in a bear hug and ruffle her hair up in the process.
"So y'are," she replied, still grinning. "And I'm glad to see it. Even if you're still on the wrong side."
Giving Mintaka a friendly squeeze to take any sting from her words, Chariklo took a step back to study the other girl, nodding to herself as if pleased by what she saw.
"Hello to you too, princess and I'm no lady. You, however, are every inch a proper little lady and absolutely adorable for it. I still have the little crane you gave me, y'know. Though I've had to rescue it once or twice from my dog. He seems to think it's a toy." Nyxtsuki Moon SORRY NOT SORRY. Chariklo is a sassypants.

Ah, AHHHHH Her beautiful curls. Her hair that had taken forever to keep pinned up, RUFFLED INTO A MESS. Chariklo whyyyyy!??! She gently eased away from the more touchy feely female, adjusting her fuku and fixing her hair and primping back up into sociable female Mintaka standards.
"Yes yes, It's always nice to know that the dark mirror court will be pining for me in lieu of being on the wrong side." She was teasing, even if her tone was a bit flat. She thought of it as flattering that Chariklo thought she was worthy of being in the Dark mirror court and it didn't help the small mild crush she had on the woman. Not like oh my god love me crush, but Kohai wanting to be noticed by sempai, Chariklo was too cool for Mintaka kind of crush.
Ahem.
She preened though, at the comments and did a small curtsy with her her new skirt, the ribbons at her side touching the ground. "That's the best compliment I've received yet. I had thought perhaps all that brutish fighting you taught me would rub off...." Again teasing, as she gave Chariklo a mischievous and sassy sort of look. "But alas, even your heathen ways have been perfected by me into my lady routine."
She smiled again at the mention of her paper crane, "Do you really? That's...That's good. I had thought with that recent negaverse, dark mirror court and white moon court skirmish you might've been a tad bit upset at the white court again." Not that Mintaka really considered her part of the white court. More of...outside it. On the side of order but not with the ideals of Moon princess.
"I have something better now!" She reached around, pulling out the senshi phone and holding it up like it was the greatest thing ever. "Ta dah! May I please have your number Chariklo?"Twilight Jaws She's the best sassypants plz /hand

Smiling easily, Chariklo shifted her weight a little and crossed her arms over her chest as she watched the other girl put herself back together. She blinked a bit at the curtsy (holy s**t, some girls still DID that? Wow) and laughed unashamedly.
"Well hey. Some of us have to be Princesses and some of us have to be heathens. Since I have fun being a heathen, I'm okay with the social order there."
She would have said more, but the mention of the White Phoenix blow up caused her to stagger and blanch a little. And as the blood drained from her face at the memory of how close they'd come to losing Leto, the scars on her face stood out prominantly in the darkness. Managing a shaky smile, Chariklo scrubbed her hands across her face as she tried to sort out her now scrambled thoughts.
"That," she began in a flat voice, "was the work of fanatics on both sides. Hell, a General King pulled in on our side and from the little I've heard since dished out some heavy and appropriate punishments. I might have been mad at your lot if I hadn't seen as many white moon folks trying to help us as there were trying to end us."
Reaching out to give Mintaka's shoulder a squeeze, Chariklo tried to figure out how to best articulate her thoughts.
"Well, okay, if I hadn't found the torturing b***h who hurt my girlfriend in that ambush and made sure that she got taught a hard lesson, I'd probably be a lot madder. And I worked with some white moon folk during those blackouts, so I guess it's hard to stay mad after that."
Smiling a little more as Mintaka whipped out a cell phone, Chariklo gave a silent prayer of thanks for the change in subject. Looking over the phone with interest, she found herself wishing that the Dark Mirrors had something as normal as a cell to communicate with. The mirror compacts were fine and all, but she was acutely aware of how crazy she looked when he started talking into it.
"I suppose it won't hurt to give you my number, though my phone is a run o'the mill iPhone."
She rattled off the number and made a mental note to call Apple the second she got home to figure out a way to keep anyone from using her cell to figure out who she was when out of uniform. Surely there was a way to make anyone using those tracking websites see her only as Anonymous.

"I suppose it suits you well." Mintaka couldn't argue Char's point, Some were born princesses, some were made princesses and some just didn't care and ran like barbarians. Not a bad thing. "I suppose I suppose."
Mintaka nodded at Chariklo's thoughts, not wishing to further encroach on the senshi's feelings over it. Mintaka had been practically useless in that fight, being drawn away to deal with Aurostibite. She still had never got a clear answer from the negaverser...
"Zinkinite!" Mintaka nodded again, "He's a very kind general king, I've met him once before.." She would never have something bad to say about the general king, as he hadn't done anything but be gentlemanly to her. Big bonuses in Mintaka's book.
"You got your revenge?" Mintaka didn't like thinking that Chariklo had beaten someone, but at the same time, from the way it was described, the senshi obviously deserved it. In a twisted way, Mintaka thought it was fair enough justice.
When she got the number, Mintaka held it up like a small gift from the heavens above. "Ahhhhh." She made happy sounds, "Now I have you and Remarque and Canopus!" She made all sorts of pleased sounds. "And you'll be able to reach me if anything should happen!" Mintaka ahemed, smiling at Chariklo.

"So that's his name. I missed it in all the excitement," she answered in a mild tone of voice. She wasn't sure if kind was a word she'd have used to describe him, but hey. Different circumstances and all.
"Oh, in part," she answered the other question blithely. There wasn't any real point in upsetting Mintaka with what had been done and what she was still plannign on doing. Instead she grinned and shook her head chuckling as Mintaka acted as though she'd just recieved a gift from god. And hey, if Remarque and Canopus had agreed to the number thing, it was okay that she did too. So hey. Yay.
"If somethign happens and I can be sure that calling you in won't get you killed for nothing, then yes, I'll call you," Chariklo replied, still chuckling.

"It wouldn't be killed for nothing if you ever call me in." Mintaka corrected, "I'd be coming to a friends aid! At least I would try too." She pocketed the phone and smiled again.
"So what are you doing tonight? Are you patrolling?" She inched closer, "Can I come along?"

A strange, sad look flickered across Chariklo's mobile face, almost as if Mintaka's words had caused her some kind of indefinable pain. Then, just as quickly, she was back to smiling though she had to turn her head away quickly to keep the other girl from seeing the sudden wetness building up in her sunset colored eyes.
Relax, she scolded herself. Mintaka's not Bianca. That will never happen again on your watch. Just chill homeself.
Turning back quickly, Chariklo forced her smile into a grin and shook her head in amusement.
"Well, I'll concede your point to a small degree. But me, I always thought friends being killed is needless since I like having my friends alive and kickin'. But you're a sweetheart anyway."
When she smiled again, it actually reached her eyes as she pointed to her oddly 'feathered' earcuff.
"I've been searching for brand new Dark Mirrors with absolutely zero luck. So I will admit that I wouldn't mind some company to keep me from going crazy from boredom."

The look of pain almost seemed a mirage to Mintaka, and she blinked. Then it wasn't there and she was wondering if she was portraying something on Chariklo or if the older woman was actually dealing with something and she needed to address it.
"A sweetheart." Mintaka hee'd a bit, clasping her hands and kicking at the ground a little, "I fear my head will fall off my shoulders and you'll have to roll me around, feeding me with compliments still." She nodded, "Well...Well that's a good point. I like being alive myself, and I still haven't seen Avengers 2 or the new guardians of the galaxy so I suppose we are safe until either of those come out." Priorities but she was teasing so...
"Oh new baby senshi's?" She inched even closer, "How does it work? How do you know they are Dark mirror and not regular?....Actually how does a Dark mirror senshi awaken? I've always wanted to know..." Incoming, 1000 questions Chariklo.

"That's my girl," Chariklo laughed out loud, shaking her head. "Get those priorities in order. I absolutely agree that Marvel's leading men should fall in line before dying pointlessly."
Feeling buoyed by the laugh, she noticed Mintaka scooting closer, curiosity writ large on her face. Well, the questions were all harmless enough and there wasn't any real harm in answering them. So, as she sat, she ticked answers off on her fingers.
"I tap the cuff and this happens," she began, doing just that and smirking as the small scouter screen popped out and the tips of the 'feathers' seemed to glow gently. "The Mirror gave it to me, so it's tuned only to Dark Mirror signatures. It's like a little radar that shows me when a brand new one is nearby."
As for how a Dark Mirror senshi happened. Well, that might be a little harder to explain, but she'd give it a whirl.
"We go through the Mirror. If we go through as unawakened senshi, we come out as ourselves with our original eye color. If we go in as awakened senshi, we come out with a new eye color and some kind of civilian glamour."
Here Chariklo held up her hands as if fending off more questions.
"Don't ask me why the eyes change color or anything because I honestly have no clue. It's just what it is."

"Thank goodness. Another Marvel fan right?" She winked.
She gasped as the scouter brought up a screen and almost went to reach for it...if it wasn't for the fact that it probably wasn't solid and knowing her, she'd end up like poking Chariklo in the eyes. Hilarious but not at the moment.
"That's good, and convenient! Makes it easier to find the senshi's before they get snagged by someone else right?" Mintaka put her chin in her hands, absorbing information like a sponge.
"Is it any mirror? Do you have a specific mirror?" She started to fire off questions again, "What do you mean Eye color change-oh okay well I will forever wonder about that one then." She nodded, "It sounds much more complicated then say...our awakening? We have cats. Talking cats that just throw pens at us and say here you go!" She forever cursed Abel for waking her like that. "Mine was a particularly fat lazy cat too."

"Girl, do you not know me? I am a fangirl of those boys' fine asses."
Laughing, she tried to field more questions without giving away more information than was appropriate.
"We can't get snagged by anyone else, not really. But it helps me find them so I can train them and make sure they survive. It is one specific Mirror. And um, we can borrow cats to help? But less for the actual awakening than to tell us who the senshi is if they haven't been awakened already."
She could just barely recall a cat talking to Ares when she'd been awakened. She hadn't seen it, but she'd heard it and seen the blur of movement as it had darted off after assisting the Princess.
"I never saw the one who was there when Ares tossed me through the Mirror. Just heard it tell her who I was."
Man, things would be a lot easier if the Dark Mirrors had a cat or two just to keep to themselves. Instead, they had to rely on the Negaverse cats who weren't always around or available when needed.

"Oh that's amazing! So am I! Not of their asses, though those are quite enjoyable as well. Captain America seems to be my favorite though Loki is just as devilishly handsome." Mintaka's eyes pratically sparkled with mischief of her own.
"Oh? That's even more interesting as well, considering that they'd make you seem like you'd be easy to capture or something!" She blinked, "Lucky! Well I mean you helped me too, and look at how I'm thriving." Mintaka posed, "This is a Chariklo success story." She gestured down herself and back up again. "Hmmm that's terrible. The cats are so cute, I haven't met a Negaverse one.." Or even knew there were negaverse cats but...
"Who is Ares?"
