Life had been... distracting. Kor had found a nice girl, a really nice girl. Laine. She was working with him now as a piercer and honestly? The two hit it off quite well. In fact, it reminded Kor a bit about how he and a certain red-headed candyman made him feel. That's what had him wandering down to the Sugar Shanty. Kor wanted to see him again, see what was up. They had kind of lost contact for a little but, but it was bound to happen. They'd been on one date and had one fantastic lay. It wasn't like they were the best friends, right? Still, Kor felt a little guilty that he hadn't even texted or called Richard to do a check up on him. Dressed in a pair of holy jeans, a shirt that looked like it had better days, usual accessories around his neck (collar, necklace), and all his piercings, Kor obviously drew heads as he walked down the side walk, hands tucked in his pockets. "Now where is it?" This is what he got for knowing vague directions.

It wouldn't be too long now before the doors of Sugar Shanty would be opened to the public, Richard Moreau told himself, staring at them from his office and almost expecting them to open at any moment. And yet, for all the attention-seeking he's done and his constant longing to be the center of attention, Richard couldn't help but find himself a little nervous about the whole ordeal. It had been a long time since his candy store was open. Too long. Could he still do it?
He never was the type to have self doubt, but anxieties? Yes, he had those in abundance. He was more apprehensive about things than a chihuahua surrounded by drooling Rottwielers, but he thrived to keep his neurotic nature contained and to himself. There were two ways of doing this, and it was probably too early for Plan A. So, plan B.
"Oh Bourbon, you've never let me down!" He grabbed himself the whole bottle and reluctantly went back for the glass, deciding it was still too early for going that deep into the bottle. He had to show some self restraint! Daran would be so pissed if he came in and he was shitfaced so early in the afternoon! He filled the glass and placed the bottle out of reaching, hoping that'd be enough to curb his appetite, and he spoke to the bottle like it were a friend. "I have so few friends... well... I have more of those kind of friends than actual friends, and all my friend-friends are so busy. But at least I have you."
It said nothing to him. And that was fine.
He downed the glass, and it was in that movement that his eye caught a familiar face turning the corner outside his store. Was that?
"THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!"

See, this is why Kor needed to get out more and actually explore on his days off. He needed to know where things were so he wasn't wandering around looking completely lost and watching everyone avoid him because of how he looked. Oh well, whatever. Kor was practically used to it by now so he just plastered a grin on his face and worked his way down side walks with his hands in his pockets. That is, until he rounded a corner and heard a muffled screaming of his name. Not quite his name, but it was close enough for the man he was looking for. Richard Moreau. A man he'd grown quite fond of. Grinning wider, he peeked in the window of the Sugar Shanty and waved at the read head before just walking to the door in all his slow, lazy glory. "There you are!" He wiggled his fingers, standing in front of that door to see what he would do. It was rude to just waltz in because it wasn't open for business yet, and none the less, he wasn't even sure if the door was unlocked. "Come out here and give us a kiss, yeah?"

Richard was so excited to see a familiar face that he practically forgot that there was a window installed in the front of his store now, and he had no idea just how silly he looked from within his shop, waving his arms in hopes that Kor would see him. Maybe he sounded a little too excited, but when there was a friendly face among the crowd, there was never such a thing as 'too excited' for Richard. Unless it would embarrass him, but... what did he care? Kor was coming to see him!
How long had it been since he saw his friend? The answer was simple: too long. And was it wrong of Richard to be looking forward to his friend's company than the reopening of his shop and thus livelihood? Once again, simple answer for Richard: Absolutely not!
Kor's reply was muffled, and only then did he remember that there were windows there. There hadn't been windows there in a long time... it'd take some getting used to, he told himself, as he pushed himself to his feet and made his way to the door so that he could let Kor in. He had so much to discuss! Where could he even begin? And more importantly, what was his favorite drink? Surely he had some on hand!
"Why you gotta be like that? Why don't you come in here and give ME a kiss?" Richard countered, making a kissy face at the dark-skinned tattooist before unlocking the door and swinging it open. "How about I bribe you with candy and booze? We can still do that kiss thing, too, should you fancy it."

Kor only laughed at how childish the red-head was and it all came back to him, the good feelings of being around him. "I will kiss you stupid," Kor threatened, grinning as the door was swung open. The taller man wandered over and grabbed Richard's face, tilted his head up and gave him a soft peck on the lips before pushing him inside. Curiosity got the better of him now. Slinging an arm over Richard's shoulder, Kor looked around and whistled. "So you really are a Candy Man. Not that I didn't believe you but this is an impressive store." He looked down at the other, grinning wide and just hummed. Pulling away, Kor was walking around, looking a basically everything in the store, touching things, getting a feel for the place. "Now that I'm out of public eye, come here. Kiss me properly or else you owe me more than a beer. You'll owe me a bottle of expensive tequila." There wasn't even second guessing or hesitation in his voice. Kissing was easy and honestly? Laine didn't come to mind right now because Richard was well... Richard. "And tell me your plans. When do you open? I'll give you a free tattoo as a gift. ..or maybe something else."

"Kiss me stupid? Are you an incubus and you thrive off of intelligence? Is that your grand scheme, to suck out my smarts and make me dumb with your kisses? Because if so, then I can get behind that!" It was great to be around others that not only understood him, but truly got him, and sometimes that was the best medicine for his anxieties, besides sex and liquor. Just being with others that got his sense of humor and let him go off on these tirades, that didn't take him too seriously but knew how to laugh. He had been around such fuddy-duddies and though he knew they meant well it was still good to just joke around from time to time. Kor was just what he needed to chase away his blues! The peck on the lips and the arm over his shoulder were all too welcoming and Richard was quick to return the favor with one of his own, rather enjoying the taste of metal as their lips met. He had to get himself readjusted to that taste, it seemed.
Kor's whistle and proclamation made him laugh, allowing Kor to get a good look at his store and not once trying to stop himself from bragging. "Now why would I have ever lied to you? Candy is my money maker and it has to be the best, especially since I've been on hiatus for... well, the amount of time isn't important, is it? You have my brother to thank- had it not been for his hard work and dedication, this shop would have probably stayed in hiatus forever. Got all the old employees back, sans one, and we're set up open soon. Real soon, and I'm no where near ready for that!"
Now was not the time to dwell on his anxieties, not when Kor gave him an open invation. Kiss him properly? Glad to!
"We'll talk about plans after I give you your proper kiss. How about that? Then we can move straight on to that something else." Richard said, a wry grin on his face as he draped his arms over Kor's shoulders and moved in for the kiss.

"Damn it you found my plan! I go around kissing all the smart, hot people and leech their intelligence otherwise I'm just a stupid tattoo artist." He laughed a little more and just gave Richard a bit of a wink. Then the peck was answered and Kor grinned a bit and pushed his face into that shock of red hair. His own had been that color at one point, but he went natural now a days. "Sans one? Pity. But, I guess people move on, yeah?" He tried not to ruffle that hair, especially since now he was being kissed. His arms slipped down to Richard's waist and he dragged the man closer to answer it, humming pleasantly at the familiar feeling. Had this been any other time his hands might have wandered down that shapely backside, but now, Kor broke the kiss with a playful n** and then spun Richard about before breaking away to go examine things again. "It's a great store, honestly. I haven't been in too many candy stores, but out of the ones I've been in, I can tell this one's gonna be top notch." Then Kor got an idea and he spun around to look at Richard again, hands behind his back. "Hey, what have you got for your grand re-opening? Anything planned? I could come in and paint kids faces, give them temporary tattoos. All for free, of course. Have something of a family day or... something." If Richard didn't like the idea, or had something planned already it wasn't the end of the world.

Quickly, change the subject before you remember it and become a blithering, simpering mess!
Richard wished he hadn't even brought it up, but it was quick to push the unpleasant memory to the back of his mind. What he didn't tell Kor was that it wasn't quite her choice not to come back, and if he had his way? No one would know! She was killed during the explosion, nothing more. "Right. Move on. Such is life, but the show must go on. Don't worry... this shop will be up and running in no time at all and it'll be even better than ever. So no worries."
The snuggling gesture certainly helped in chasing away the negative emotions that threatened him, and he wouldn't have minded staying in this position for awhile longer. If he could open the store and have Kor hanging on him, that'd be more than enough to chase away any jitters he might have had. Would have make working difficult, but he'd work around it somehow. Kor's suggestion for a family day was intriguing, and he chuckled at the thought, trying so hard to hide his disdain for children even when his store relied so heavily upon them. "It's still being arranged. Daran's working on some advertisements and endorsements at the moment, but other then that, I'm not quite sure what I was planning. It's been forever in the making, but it's all coming up so fast... if that makes any sense. Though, your suggestion sounds like a damn good idea... I may have to pester you about it when the time comes."
Admittedly, it was more than what he had planned... it wasn't as though he'd allow himself to open the store again without SOME grand gesture, right? It simply wasn't his style.

There was something about Richard that Kor just fed off of. He was stupidly happy most of the time and Kor loved that about him. He grinned a bit and grabbed hold of Richard's cheeks when he seemed a little depressed and started to stretch them out and smoosh them together to try to get him to smile again. Sadness on Richard wasn't a good look and Kor didn't like it. It hurt him a bit. Huffing quietly, Kor gave him another kiss and just hummed as he moved to sit down on top of one of his counter tops, legs swinging a little as he listened to Richard consider his look. "No, I get it, trust me. It was like that when I first opened Eight and Half. I'd been saving for years, but once I got started.. it kind of snowballed and everything came up all at once. Can be a little overwhelming, yeah? But hey, good for you reopening. Not a lot of people do that. Tend to get discouraged and pack up and move." He clicked his tongue piercing against his teeth before shrugging. He grinned a little more when Richard promised to pester him about it. "Good. I like it when you pester me. I've missed your face. You're a lot of fun, so we should totally hang out more. I think Laine would like you, too."

The kisses just kept on coming, it seemed, but Richard loved all the attention he was getting. He should have been ashamed of himself for thriving off of such attentions and taking advantage of other's generosity and kindness, but that was an integral part of Richard and part of loving himself was accepting himself for all of his virtues and flaws, right? And Richard definitely loved himself. There was no doubt about that.
At least Kor could also keep him grounded as a fellow businessman, and sometimes he welcomed that kind of care and attention more than he craved the sexual kind. Sometimes, he just wanted to know he wasn't alone, and he didn't want to hassle poor Krishna over his insecurities, as rare and few as they may be. Hadn't he already pestered that poor man enough?
"Ha, pack up and move? Never... only other place I could think of is going back to Texas and I wouldn't be caught dead there! Never again will I live there," Richard said with a laugh. Just knowing that he had friends he could rely on, besides for a good rolling around under the sheets, was enough to chase away his anxieties, and now Kor brought up a rather interesting little tidbit, and Richard drew closer to him, as if being in his personal bubble would somehow make what he said have more clarity. "Hmmmm, I fancy the idea of hanging out more often, but that name you just dropped. Sounds familiar... can you describe this Laine for me?"
Was it the same Laine he knew? There had to have been plenty of Laine's in the city, but... best to know, just in case.

"Ew, Texas. I was there like... three years back and it's not a great place. Too much humidity, not enough rain or open minded people..." They tended to be a lot more racist, but Kor wasn't going to admit that out loud. He let a hand slide down Richard's back as he talked and he just tilted his head from side to side again and just hummed. Kor didn't really have a personal bubble when it came to friends and people he considered a bit closer to friends. "I'm glad you fancy the idea. Fancy talking b*****d." He grinned a little and nosed into Richard's red hair before blinking. "Laine? She's dark skinned like me, blue eyes, white hair that's like five miles long and in a thick braid most of the time? Shorty but she's fun loving and well.." He had the biggest crush on her. Just like he had a crush on Richard. Was that even allowed? If not, he didn't care. It happened, and well, he didn't really want to change it. "She's also the new piercest in my tatoo shop. You should get your ear pierced. Maybe up here." He flicked his fingers over the top of the other's ears lightly and just stuck out his tongue a little.

Kor wasn't the only one with such an opinion of Texas, as those were the main culprits of why he had left the state himself! He let out a deep laugh, forcing himself to stop when he feared he'd get too carried away. "Took the words right out of my mouth, Kor. Those reasons, and my psychotic family, are the exact reasons why I'm here in Destiny City and not tied down there. So glad there are others in this world that just understand me."
His laughs turned into a snide snicker when Kor called him a fancy talking b*****d, though his attention was set firmly on a certain person of interest now. Kor knew Laine, though how much did they know about each other? That was the question. Thus far things had only hinted at being acquaintances, even maybe friends, but who really knew? And how best to approach the subject, he wondered, enjoying the feel of Kor's body against his own and wanting nothing more than to melt into it, yet too intrigued about Laine being mentioned.
"No mistake, that's the Laine I know," he said, after hearing of her description. He wondered just how intimate the two had become, and he wondered for a moment of he should have felt jealous or protective for his fellow officer in disguise. Laine could handle herself, and it wasn't like Kor was going to do anything stupid to her... if anything, she'd be wowed under the sheets, which brought back that sense of jealousy he felt brewing. However, he forced it down, and he let out a gasp when he felt Kor's tongue against his ear. "Ahhhhh, like a lizard! Ahhhhh... cease that, I am far too delicate and my ear cannot POSSIBLY taste good!"
He wriggled, but his protests weren't all that serious. If he wanted to break out of Kor's hold, he would have found a way... however, he remained nestled in there, and he contemplated the idea of getting a piercing. "You already marked my body with your lovely art, and now you wish to fill me with holes? How cruel is your love, Kor... would it hurt?"

Texas was just not a fun state to be in, or a fun state of mind. Yes, Texas was a state of mind. They were so back asswards. Kor rolled his green eyes and just squeezed the man in his arms, resting his chin on the other's shoulder and thought a moment. "So we both know the wonderful Laine. She's great. We've gotten coffee, flirted a bit. You know how it goes." Though the first drink he shared with Richard was alcohol, but still. Drinks then sex is how he operated when he wanted the physical attention. Laine though, something about her made Kor want to ease into things. Then Richard said he was a lizard and Kor huffed a little more, grumbling, lips brushing the shell of that pale ear. "Lizard? Hardly. I'm not a lizard. I don't eat bugs. Unless you're saying you're a big? As for your taste... I didn't have a problem with it when I dragged you home." That was whispered again and he chuckled again. "My love is rough and tumble. Tattoos and piercings are the way to go. ..AS for if it'll hurt.. You're jabbing a needle through your body, it's going to hurt. But the pain varies, just like tattoos. Depending on where you want them." He let a hand side along Richard's chest after a moment and smirked. "Here would probably hurt. I don't remember if mine did or not. Ears would hurt the least, at least the lobes."

With the subject of Texas now completely out of his mind, in lieu of a far more interesting and less painful one for him. Laine. He beamed at the mere mention of her name again, as though she were a cure all to any ailment that might have plagued him, and now knowing that there was something going on between the two, that was just too good to pass up.
"Indeed I do. She's a lovely girl, that one... not going to lie, I'm a little protective of her," Richard said, not realizing he was rubbing his scarred hand as he spoke until he pulled a finger and ended up cracking a knuckle. Even after all of these months, it still ached, and he tried to think only of Laine and not the rest of the event. "So, be sure to treat her well, Kor. I'd hate to have to lecture you or deny you a ******** because you hurt her or something."
Or you could just threaten to rip out his starseed, though that'd be a far less painful punishment.
He didn't want to think about having to chose between the two, should something arise, so he pushed the thought to the back of his head, and the lips brushing against his ears did a great job in chasing away such terrible thoughts. He wriggled and squirmed, but never away from him or his displays of affection. "No, NO, I'm good, I'm good... I have enough holes in me as it is. I don't think I could handle anymore..."
Kor's hand slide down his chest, and he flashed the dark-skinned man a dubious look. "Now, you know, I'm suppose to be getting ready to open this shop, but you're making it extremely hard."
And that wasn't the only thing getting hard now. "We can close the blinds? Take it to the back, perhaps, or... is Laine the only one for you now?"Saint Sergio omg, I'm terribly sorry... I'm trying to get my groove back, I swear!

The way Richard looked when he realized they were talking about the same Laine was absolutely priceless. He stifled a laugh as the red-head started playing the big brother card and just let his teeth n** at the other's ear. "Well, I don't have any plans to hurt her. She's a good girl." Young, but good. "No, not my ********, I need those. It's how I live. I'll shrivel up and die without them!" He laughed against that ear and just turned his affections towards the other's neck. It wasn't what he came here for, originally... Or even what he though would happen when he saw the other man through the window, but hey. He wasn't going to pass this up. He had to figure out what Richard was like sober. "Maybe it's my job in life to make you hard. ...Your life I mean." Yeah, sure he did. Kor was grinning openly now and he ran his hands towards Richard's backside. "Mn, let's take it to the back." With a smack to Richard's a**, Kor kissed him and then sauntered that way. He might not have been in the store before but he was pretty sure he knew where the back of any store was. He added an extra little sway to his steps as he did.
