He'd gotten himself into this mess by not dealing with it sooner, and it was only going to get worse if he continued to not deal with it. Guilt congealed in the pit of Babylon's stomach, a hard, grisly mass, and he felt bile in his throat as he waited.

None of this was fair. Well, it was fair to him - he'd been an a*****e and was getting what came with that. It wasn't fair to Vin, who hadn't done anything wrong, at all, ever, and in all honesty just deserved a better boyfriend. One who didn't flirt with near-death experiences and cheat on him with past-life lovers and murderous sociopaths. Babylon was literal human trash. The scum of the earth.

Spotting the senshi bounding towards him, Babylon got to his feet and raised his arm in greeting. "Hey," he said, when Vindemiatrix got a little closer. "Can we talk? I've just - I've gotta preface it that it's nothing good and you're not gonna like it."

He just had to stick to his talking points, thought Babylon: he'd ******** up and stuck his d**k places he shouldn't have, their age difference was too much, and he couldn't date someone who wasn't out to his parents. Easy, right?

Then why did he feel like so much s**t.
