Basics
Name: Erin Stradler
Nickname: Erin, Riri, Rinny, Honey, Bunny Lady, Animal Girl, 'Oh my god look at her!', Bunny, mouse, and anything that even implies she's tiny and helpless.
Age: 19 20 21 22 23
Birthday: November 3rd
Sign: Scorpio
Gemstone: Topaz, although Erin isn't terribly fond of it.
Blood Type: A+
Fav. Food: Erin isn't terribly particular, but she is fond of sweets and chocolate, as well as tea. Except for cloven hooved animals (which cannot be made kosher or halal) or seafood, Erin does prefer her meats Kosher or Halal, or at least farmed or otherwise killed humanely.
Hated Food: Edible insects, any meal served with the head still attached. She just breaks down sobbing.
School: DCU. Erin wants her Journalism major damnit.
Hobbies:History - Erin is a bit of a history buff. Buried in books, outside of homework she spends time reading history books for fun and outside her major, history is her favorite General Education requirement. Since she can't seem to dual-minor between Broadcasting and History, she satisfies this with books upon books on various subjects, even factbooks, or watching Mental Floss or visiting similar sites... Or, well, cramming it in where she can, and Erin is that girl who will happily tutor the subject, or generally talk about it if asked. Unless you really want to hear her go at length, however, don't pry too deeply or you'll hit another hobby.
Conspiracy Theories - Conspiracies. Erin loves a good theory. From aliens building to Stonehenge to secret societies to JFK being killed by Russians, Erin soaks it all up and loves learning. She knows not all of them are true, but she does find them exciting and a perfectly acceptable way to spend time, even if she's not entirely able to present them. She does, however, have her own theories, even if they're just that, theories.
Writing - Erin is a storyteller, and she enjoys writing stories about adventure and romance, heroes, villains, and things of similar nature. She dislikes sharing her stories, since they mostly seem to have her in them, but she's still secretly pleased with how they're written. She enjoys writing non-fiction as well, although not nearly as exciting, and she can paint a vivid picture in words. While simply a hobby and a way to have fun, Erin still likes to write, no matter what.
Reading - Erin loves books, beyond, you know, history. She loves fiction - high fantasy, regular fantasy, short stories, novellas, novels, she loves anything she can get lost in, and she especially loves romance, even if she's aware some books are... Not very realistic. She simply loves the ideas, the excitement and glamor, and likes to think of them all as, well, an escape from being boring.
Virtues:
CompassionatePlease don't ever let the world defeat you...
Pain, fear, suffering are all parts of the world, things Erin does not agree with, but knows cannot be abolished. to that end, Erin tries to ease the pains of others. She reaches out to help others heal, mend, and see a light at the end of dark tunnels when possible - from volunteering at the animal shelter to offer the animals hope, to sitting with a lonely person she meets walking to class and talking to them or giving them a few dollars, just so they can eat. Erin's heart is large and tender, and she wants to make the world heal, feel better, and maybe help others find a little bit of hope inside.
DependableIf this should end in fire then we should all burn together. If you manage to push past Erin's timid, skittish nature - something quite possible often - Erin is a dependable girl who can be counted on to help others. Need a friend to help you solve problems? Erin's there. How about girl night because you got dumped? Or... Well, the male equivalent. Doesn't matter. Erin is there, and if she's asked to do something, it gets done, and if it's impossible because things came up, she will be a kicked puppy and apologize profusely for her failing. She's sorry, she truly is. More often than not, though, she gets it done, and appears where she needs to be, and similarly pretty reliably.
OptimisticThough hope is frail, it's hard to kill...Erin is not easily negative (video games aside, thanks). She sees hope and good things in so many people, so many things, and tries to find something positive in everything. She's not blind that not everything is going to go well, and recognizing it as a fact is part of her attitude, but she has a bright, sunny outlook and she's highly supporting of hers when they need her there. For Erin it's not even a question - if she's needed to be positive, she will be, no questions asked, and hers is a shoulder there to spread that bright, sunshiney boost to others.
Flaws:
Timid...I am afraid...Erin has zip for confidence and fears anything that even so much as looks at her like a snack. Erin startles easily, and often comes across as having a stutter because she stammers. Although capable of buckling down for things that really matter, she... Really often seems like even the smallest noise will make her jump, and if called on it she just starts to apologize profusely. Her fearful, jumpy nature may endear her to some, but, unfortunately it seems to have a solid grip, and she's often jumping because a car honked, or because a sudden movement startled her. And she's sorry for jumping.
PervertedI like football, and pornos, and books about war!Erin is a pervert hindered publicly only by her modesty, but her computer sure is full of dirty photoshops. And she sure seems to catch on to anything that can be a euphemism very quickly. When Erin feels comfortable, she may even make the raunchiest comments which seems to surprise people unfamiliar with her personality. While Erin doesn't sleep around, she certainly enjoys the idea of certain things and, well, you really don't want to hear about half the dirty things she can think of... Although sometimes you might anyhow if she's feeling candid.
Overly Apologetic...I would take back all the words that had hurt you, and you'd stay...Erin is always apologizing, once someone is upset, and cries very easily over things some people consider trivial. Although a warm, compassionate, even tender woman, Erin is impossibly sensitive, feeling sad over an animal in pain, or perhaps if someone had a poor day, or if someone seems even bothered by her, she'll begin to feel anxious and start wringing her hands. And it only goes downhill. If she thinks someone is angry, she begins apologizing and beating herself up. If she thinks she saw an animal hurt, she cries. Whole lobster, crab, and animal head dishes just kill her heart and she begins sobbing hard, just the same as when she's face by rejection and dislike. And if that isn't bad enough... She apologizes for that too. Erin is a little too sensitive and a little too eager to please, and it's actually difficult to get her to stop apologizing so often, in that she apologizes for apologizing,
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Brown. Plain, ordinary, regular brown, with an average oval eyeshape. She doesn't even have thick lashes, really.
Hair: Erin's hair is a faded, near-blonde cinnamon brown, with her bangs brushed to face just to the left, stopping above her eyebrows. Lengthwise it would end midback, however she keeps it in a ponytail over her right shoulder. Her hair grows unevenly enough to wave, and it gets wavier if she keeps it cut oddly. Otherwise, it's thick and fine.
Face: Erin's face leans towards heartshaped, although she has a delicate nose and needs glasses to see. She has wide, narrow lips and often seems shy. She's not terribly pale - she walks most places and as such has a slight tan, though she's otherwise fairly pale. Erin's ears themselves are fairly small.
Clothes: Erin wears narrow, black metal framed glasses with thin frames, to help her see and always wears them unless she finangles her contacts in for nice outfits. Her preferred outfit is a large, oversized sweater she owns that has off one shoulder and seems two sizes too big at minimum, tights or jeans, and sneakers. Otherwise, Erin wears either what is comfy, or something cute. She's not a major fashionista though.
