It had been one of those summer days - still air, blue skies and sun - glorious sun and although the heat made things feel a little sticky, the hot weather made for good ice cream eating weather.

Briar Mackenzie, had decided to make the most of the nice weather, having spent earlier in the day at the park having a water fight with a couple of friends from school. It had been fun, pelting each other with water-filled balloons and on those occasions when a direct hit landed it helped make the heat feel not quite so sticky.

He hadn't been ready to leave when his friends had though and had lingered in the park, taking advantage of the quiet park to henshin up as Chibi Sailor Oort.

Oort had eventually settled on lazing up in one of the trees whilst eating an ice cream that he'd thought to pick up prior to henshining up.

He could see the playground from where he was, but the playground was as quiet as the rest of the park was, with even the sandpit at the centre empty.

It didn't bother Oort - quiet didn't particularly bother him.

Normally Oort, well make that his counterpart Briar, had no problems spending an afternoon lazing up in a tree.

With a book would have been better and if he'd thought on it then maybe he would have brought one, but powering up and hanging about the park had been kind of a whim thing - prior to today, the first and last time he had powered up had been the afternoon that Horatio had given him a magical pen and told him that he was a powered super hero.

There was a niggling something that stopped him from settling however, a sort of creepy niggling that wouldn't go away, although Oort tried to ignore it as best he could - this was his afternoon and he wasn't going to let some sort of niggling (even if it was niggling of the creepy variety) bother him.

A voice called out from nearby and Oort peer down from the branch he was sitting on, his reddish eyes spotting a blue- haired girl carrying one of those toy shovels that was good for sand castle-making and sandpit digging.

Is she like me? Horatio had said that there were others and something about them feeling friendly, or at least something like that and the blue-haired girl kind of felt like that - he'd totally done the close his eyes to help him super concentrate and checked.

It was because of that and because he trusted Horatio that had him calling out "Hi" and then adding almost as an afterthought as he jumped down from his branch. "Where are you going?"

"I was eating ice cream earlier, but I'm not doing much now" Oort admitted as he tried to ignore the creepy, niggling feeling that just didn't seem to want to go away despite his best efforts to try and ignore it.

"And what sort of monsters? Does that mean you're a senshi too?" His reddish eyes were curious as he asked the two questions.

He didn't remember Horatio mentioning monsters, but if like she said senshi equalled superheroes, then there being monsters made sense - especially if they were bad monsters - after all weren't bad monsters just another sort of bad guy?

At any rate it sounded a lot more interesting than going back to laze in his tree.
