Go back to sleep
Safe from pain and truth and choice and other poison devils
See, they don't give a I do."

                          OOC RULES
Please don't steal my graphics. I worked hard on them, as simple as they are, and I'm quite proud. Thank you~
If you do not like the cult please keep negative opinions to yourself. Those who join do so for fun, and I'd like that anyone a part of this enjoys making plots and being a part of "The Beginning". This project is special to me, and I just want to include those who want to in it for a fun time.
Follow the shop rules and ToS, thank you!
You must ask me before you can say a fox is a part of the cult, only so I can keep a coherent list of who is in! It keeps things tidy, and while I'm extremely unlikely to reject someone I may find that the fox wouldn't suit the cult. Either way, send me a "join" form first, please~
Anything that drastically changes the way the cult runs or affects core members should be mentioned to me before hand. Also, anything affecting a member who you aren't plotting with should be discussed with them, too.
Rules may be added as I see fit

                          CULT RULES
                          Messiah's word is law.
Stay out of the forbidden rooms, unless you have a perk or are given permission.
One may not harm another member of "The Beginning", unless said member is harming a follower. Even then, immediate action should be taken to restrict the offender and bring them to Messiah. If this cannot be done, the highest ranking member may take lead and then must report to Messiah immediately after.
One may not speak ill of the cult, whether in private or not.
While higher ranking members have more authority, they may not abuse their power. Orders should only be given in dire situations, or under Messiah's command. Otherwise, members of all ranks should coincide as equals.
You do not need to live in the village, however you must appear to the required events. If you miss one, a Devoted will be sent to question them as to why they could not arrive. If the answer is not deemed good enough, they shall be summoned to see Messiah, or personally visited.
Harming outsiders is permitted, but it is preferred that a low profile is kept.
Rules may be added as Messiah see's fit

                          THE BELIEFS
xxx Those who belong to The Beginning all share one belief: Messiah is their savior. While many have different morals, life-styles, and such, this belief spreads across the entire cult.

xxx The Beginning is split into several different type of people. There are those who worship Messiah and live within the village under his care. There are those who devote their entire being to Messiah and carry out his orders, and sometimes violently. Then there are those who believe in Messiah's powers and worship him, however live outside of the village. No matter what type you are, one thing is certain: You are a protected under Messiah's care. You shall receive gentle care as he ensures your safety in exchange for your loyalty. If something dares harm you, he shall go out of his way to remove the threat or harm. However, to receive this care you need to completely and utterly surrender yourself to Messiah. You will trust his every word, wish, and command, as he only means the best for you (or so he claims).

xxx However, why do so many people flock to this man and find themselves in need of his special care? Why is he their savior? Messiah is blessed with many powers, and one being the reason for his position and adoration. If he touched another's forehead, Messiah can directly see your future. Upon entering, each new member is allowed one vision to see proof of Messiah's power. He shall protect you from future misfortune, often choosing to prevent an either fatal or greatly scarring event from your life. His power has saved many from great pain and suffering, and continuos loyalty guarantees more chances for him to prevent another misfortune from your life. Messiah also can heal illness' and injuries, as well as inflict them. Those diseased, physically damaged, or generally ill can come to him for care, and he shall never turn a follower or potential follower down. Messiah shall save those who fall under his care, and those who wish to become one of his protected.

xxx A very loose religion flows within the cult, though leaves room for one's own religion. Generally, those who have sinned are considered "unclean", and therefor must be eliminated from society to ensure the safety of the people. Sinners are those who damage a child, sexually trespassing on another's body, or cause a community great suffering by their mere existence. It is not frowned upon to "remove" a sinner, though generally cult members wait until the Purge, which is hosted once a month and primarily consist of the Devoted murdering sinners. As long as cult members are safe and not harmed then it is not frowned upon to murder an outsider.

xxx Life and death is greatly respected within The Beginning. A birth is cause for celebration, especially if there are more than two children. Children are immediately given the chance to have a misfortune prevented, and Messiah takes great care to ensure their safety, as well as have Devoted teach the child of the cult's way. Once grown, the children may choose to stay or leave The Beginning, however their upbringing greatly influences many to stay. Death, however, is a time for mourning. Silence runs through the village, and cult members living within the village take a vow of silence for a day as Messiah heads off to console the family, if there is any.

xxx The village is open to the general public, though you cannot be guaranteed safety at night. During daytime, Messiah keeps a calm and polite approach, urging his village to show hospitality. While he tends to prefer that the village respects visitors at night, as long as any violence is kept out of sight he permits it. This also stands for violence elsewhere. A cult member must always keep their violent acts out of plain sight, as to not alert outsiders of the cults slightly bloody nature.

xxx Any personality is accepted within the cult, except those who will cause harm to other cult members. Harming a cult member, whether you're in the cult or not, is a huge no-no and will have a serious, probably fatal consequence.

xxx Lastly, banishment does happen, however it is unheard of within the village due to it having very special circumstances, as well as being impossible for the villagers to detect. Banishment shall be explained later in the "Punishments & Rewards section".

                          ALL YEAR EVENTS
The Purge: The Purge happens twice a month, during the first and last week of the month. On this day, members are permitted and encouraged to "rid the world of sinners". Messiah usually has a list of those he deemed sinners, and presents it to the village. Some members spend these weeks murdering those deemed sinners. While mostly only the Devoted actually "cleanse", any member is allowed to participate.
Protection Day: Once a month, on the 15th, anyone who have not received a punishment in a year may approach Messiah and request a reading. Messiah shall tell them of the next event that will cause them misfortune, and how to prevent it. Those who have ever received a level four punishment can never participate in this day, if they're still alive.
Silence Vow: A death calls for a day of complete silence. Those who live in the village may not utter a word, or else they receive a level one punishment.

                          SPRING EVENTS
Lantern Blessing: Hosted on the 2nd of April, villagers are each given a name of a villager (much like secret santa). Villagers then write on a piece of paper the name of the villager they were given, and a blessing they give to them, placing the paper within the lantern and sending it down the river.

                          SUMMER EVENTS
                          ???: Nothing currently.

                          FALL EVENTS
Halloween: The village celebrates by dressing up, and giving one another candy, as usual. However, it is also greatly encouraged that, while they are dressed up, they go out and rid the world of sinners. Children are also to be given much attention, and treated kindly no matter if they're an outsider or not.

                          ALL YEAR EVENTS
Christmas: While Christmas is standard, Messiah isn't too much of a fan of the day and therefor seems to be pretty hard to find on this day. It is encouraged to help those in need, especially outsiders.
New Years: Celebrated as a villager wishes, however a box is placed within Messiah's mansion. Each villager may write down one wish they have, and the Wish Maker may grant their wish for the New Year.

                          PAST
xxx The cult starts way back in the day, back when a little kit named Abaddon was born. Able to sway children his age under his command, it was apparent pretty earlier he was destined for great (depending on who you talk to) things. Others were attracted to him easily, and when he began to display his powers the male discovered just exactly what he could do. Quickly, children his age began to almost worship him, asking for healing or a vision to ensure their safety. Abaddon knew nothing but encouragement as he grew up, testing and strengthening his powers at a rapid rate. Tormenting those who disobeyed him and rewarding those who knelt at his feet, already he had a society around him, waiting for his beck and call.

xxx When he grew up, he was labeled Messiah by his new followers. Briefly alarmed by his popularity, he accepted the name readily and gracefully ascended to the position they desired, becoming their "savior". Striking an unknown deal with a wish demon named Trixie, Messiah gained a village over-night and presented it to his followers as a home. Establishing a community took a year or so, but the young leader took no time in creating a cult firmly centered around himself. Promising security and protection to those who obeyed and adored him, Messiah began to settle down and live a pleasant life amongst his new family.

                          PRESENT
xxx Currently, Messiah is focusing on gaining new members and making sure his people are happy. While he hides a darker, more malicious inner nature (have you seen his family? no wonder he's a beast), he genuinely cares greatly for his cult and will set ablaze anyone who harms a member. Life is quiet, but he anxiously seeks a Guard Dog who resembles his childhood Guard Dog, Hunter.

                          PLOTS NEEDED
More People: Messiah needs more members in The Beginning, so throw them all in!
Childhood Admirers: As mentioned further in, Messiah was noticed as a child by a group around his age. I'd love some foxes to be thrown into the cult as the "first believers". Desired badly.
Allies: Messiah may be powerful, but it'd be good to have some powerful allies. While they do not need to join the cult, he needs some beings who can grant him aid or power if he needs it. A bargain can be struck.
Enemies: I'd like to wait until more people join, but some drama would be awesome. Enemies would be hunted daily, and attacked by Messiah himself if found. I'd love to RP Messiah with a hostile unit.
Frienemies: Someone teetering on both friend and enemy line would be fun to plot with Messiah, as well.
General RP: Want RP with Messiah or Trixie? Let me know!
Please Throw Me Your Ideas!: Have an idea? Please please toss it my way~

                          THE LEADER
The Leader's word is law. Anything he says or wishes shall be obeyed, without question. The Leader's responsibility is to ensure the health and safety of their people, and to protect them from the dangers of the world. The Leader may do as they please, and other than the Guard Dog or the Wish Maker is the sole person allowed to give rewards or punishments, and are the only rank able to banish another. The Leader can heal as well as inflict illness, and can see the future of a cult member.
xxx ↪ Those who are family of the Leader are to be given the utmost respect. Any harm done to them warrants the highest level of punishment. Family of the Leader are allowed to go into the forbidden rooms, unless otherwise stated. They also are not permitted to punish or reward others.

                          THE GUARD DOG
The Guard Dog's sole duty is to protect the Leader and their family. They are permitted access to all parts of the village, including the forbidden rooms. The Guard Dog does not need permission to give punishment or rewards, however if they abuse their power they are quickly given the highest punishment. The Guard Dog is the most valued rank to the Leader, and any harm to them will be responded to immediately. The Guard Dog may ask for as many visions as they wish.
xxx ↪ Those who are family of the Guard Dog are given the same perks as the Guard Dog themselves, and if they inherited the powers they can be summoned to do the original's job. They do not however have access to the forbidden rooms, unless personally invited. This only applies if the family-member is a part of the cult. They also are not permitted to punish or reward others.

                          THE WISH MAKER
The Wish Maker will grant the wish of a cult member if the Leader commands it. They are also permitted to grant wishes on their own, however it may not harm the cult or Messiah. Wishes that require harm to an outsider must be brought to Messiah for approval. The Wish Maker has access to all of the village, including the forbidden rooms. The Wish Maker can punish and reward freely. They are permitted as many visions as they desire. Harm done to them will cause a level four punishment.
xxx ↪ Those who are family of the Wish Maker are given the same perks as the Wish Maker themselves, and if they inherited the powers they can be summoned to do the original's job. They do not however have access to the forbidden rooms, unless personally invited. This only applies if the family-member is a part of the cult. They also are not permitted to punish or reward others.

                          THE DEVOTED
The Devoted are members who worship Messiah the highest. They essentially perform most of his commands, usually related to the elimination of sinners or threats. The Devoted also teach the children of their culture and society, attempting to sway them to join. A Devoted may give commands to lesser ranks should a situation call for it. Devoted's typically have the most knowledge of the cult other than the higher-ranks.

                          THE RECRUITERS
The Recruiters constantly leave the village to try and bring home new followers. They may not automatically accept a member, but instead bring them to Messiah for assessing. A Recruiter may give commands to lesser ranks should a situation call for it. The Recruiters typically have more knowledge of the outside world's status other than the higher ranks, and so tend to relay information they learn throughout the village.

                          THE PROTECTED
The Protected are those who believe in Messiah as a savior, however do not have a specific role.
xxx ↪ Those who do not live in the village must come to the required events. If they do not, they shall be questioned by a Devoted and summoned to Messiah if their reason is not appropriate.

                          THE LEADER

User Image

While named Abaddon, he only responds to this name when his immediate family utters it. Called Messiah by his cult and most outsiders, Messiah comes off calm and sweet, even polite most of the time. Appearing laid-back, he's anything but. Messiah is secretly manipulative, cold, and cruel at times. Devoted to those he cares for, you still shouldn't betray him even if he loves you, as he'll chain you up so he can always have access to you and not lose you. Constantly bearing a smile, even when angry, the male has a possessive nature that should not be toyed with. Try and take away someone he cares for and that smile will darken, and you'll quickly regret your choices as he brutalizes you with the most painful disease he can think of at that moment. Or, if you're lucky, he'll simply break a limb and drag you off to be torn limb by limb by his Guard Dog.
Messiah is very family-orientated despite his bloody and cruel nature, and he genuinely cares for his cult. Yes, he keeps a persona on and has ulterior motives around his cult, but he will never allow harm to come upon his people or his family. If something slipped past his eyes and someone was harmed, well.... you're screwed. You're royally screwed. He'll torture you and keep you alive just to keep the pain lasting.
xxxPowers: Extreme speed/power, future sight, healing wounds/diseases, inflicting wounds/disease (however this does weaken him), manipulating the moods of others to weaken them to suggestion (however this does alter his own mood and hurt him)

                          FAMILY OF THE LEADER

User Image

Azazel: Messiah's brother from the same litter, while he does fluctuate between living in and out of the cult he does have his own room on the fourth floor. Azazel constantly seems uninterested in everything around him. When he speaks, it's usually in a bland monotone voice that makes you wonder if he's being sarcastic or if he's just super bored. He's a master at manipulating others though, and can add emotions to his voice when it feels it will give him an advantage in some way. He loves to mess with people, but he also prefers to just be a lazy bum as well. Not much can get past him though, like his mother he can read and manipulate the emotions of other's around him. His powers include the ability to red/manipulate emotions, speed/strength , and spell casting. He can make people feel sick by touching them, but it doesn't last very long and he can't exactly cause diseases, he's definitely got more of his mother's abilities over his father's. He may not be a devote follower of Messiah, but he can pretend to be.
xxxPowers: Can manipulate emotions to make them as he desires.

                          THE GUARD DOG

User Image

Joplin was one of the first to idolize Messiah as a savior when they were kits. She foolishly didn't trust a vision she received and a family member she admired wounded her, and Joplin came crawling back to Messiah, begging him to forgive her ignorance. She now remains fiercely loyal to him, and desires nothing more than to serve and protect him at the risk of her own life.
Joplin is normally quiet and reserved as a result from the experience Messiah had warned her about. She's relatively even-tempered and it's difficult to anger her unless someone does something that triggers a defensive reaction that stems from her childhood trauma or you hurt anyone she deeply loves.
Like Messiah, she is seemingly pleasant, but once angered, Joplin is vicious and will tear a traitor or sinner apart. She is a cannibal, and it is likely she will eat anyone who crosses her or anyone Messiah wants gone. She has an underlying insanity that is genetic for her family, and while she may be good at pretending it doesn't affect her, certain behavioral quirks she has will point to an unstable mind.

Joplin does not yet have immediate family in the cult.

                          THE WISH MAKER

User Image

Trixie Boo was originally trapped by a well-worded wish from a clever Messiah, made to summon his village, houses, and more. However, the wish demon requires one wish a week at least to survive, and she realized quickly that his cult was fascinating and good provide her a constant meal plan. Ever since, Trixie has been a loyal if a bit mischievous little Wish Maker.
Trixie loves to cause mayhem, though it is usual through wishes that require harsh payment and pranks. However, those who belong to The Beginning do not need to pay for their wishes, thanks to their clever Messiah's wording. Trixie is a bit spoiled, but generally a sweet woman. She is extremely loyal to those she trusts, and will run you to hell and back if you ever lay a finger on "her people". While it took some time, Trixie has warmed to Messiah and keeps an eye out for him when he can. This means the wish demon can be found often pretending to "betray" her leader, trying to see others reactions and if they themselves are a traitor. Be careful with this one, she'll keep you on your toes! Trixie does not like relying on others and often refuses to.
xxxPowers: Can float/teleport, grant wishes, summon objects, manifest negative energy

                          LEVEL OF PUNISHMENTS
Banishment Banishment is extremely rare, and fairly difficult to get. Messiah will use the Wish Maker to erase you from the cult. How? Simple. Anyone in the cult can not see you, hear you, feel you, etc. You are simply empty air to them. This means if you have family in the cult they can never see you again. Banishment is never heard of, as Messiah simply says the member choose to left the cult willingly. Other banished members can see one another, and outsiders can see a banished.
Level Four This is the worst punishment. Messiah will either choose to break pieces of your bone until satisfied and then toss you to the Guard Dog for disposal, or lock you up within a forbidden room and inflict one of the worst diseases on you to suffer through until you pass. The village does not know of this level, and simply believes Messiah let them leave the cult.
Level Three Messiah will punish you by taking away your ability to receive assistance in avoiding misfortune for a year, as well as take away any chances to receive wishes granted for a year.
Level Two You are not allowed to speak for a week.
Level One You will be summoned to speak to Messiah, in which he'll lecture you on your misbehaving.

                          WHAT GETS A PUNISHMENT
Banishment depends primarily on what exactly you did, and if you have family. If you harm a cult member and Messiah deems it more painful for you to be separated from your family, well, you're banished. As this is a rare punishment, it doesn't have specific requirements. Usually, those who receive this punishment have done repeated offenses and become either a burden or a threat to the cult. (Some crimes not mentioned will fall under this level)
To receive level four, you must have hurt a cult member or betrayed Messiah. Repeated offenses will not lead you up to this level. Entering the torture room immediately warrants this level, as you can destroy Messiah's entire position if let free. Disobedience of multiple commands from Messiah may land you here, too. If you have "sinned", then you shall also receive this punishment. (Some crimes not mentioned will fall under this level)
To receive level three, you need to do either offenses on a level one-two level, or misusing power. Entering a forbidden room also warrants this punishment. Stealing from other members, or acting suspicious while in the outside world can cause this level of punishment. (Some crimes not mentioned will fall under this level)
Level two punishments are simple deeds such as repeated level one crimes, or disobeying higher rank orders (unless Leader, Guard Dog, or Wish Demon, then you'll get a level three punishment). Lying immediately receives this punishment, as well as disrespect to other cult members. (Some crimes not mentioned will fall under this level)
Level one punishments are usual if you just generally misbehave. Being too crazy (causing trouble for others), getting too much attention from outsiders, etc. (Some crimes not mentioned will fall under this level)

                          LEVEL OF REWARDS
Level Four You are given access to the Butterfly Room as you please.
Level Three You are given the ability to ask one favor of Messiah, however trivial it may be. You may not ask to harm another cult member or Messiah, or commit a "sin".
Level Two You are allowed to request one extra vision whenever you wish.
Level One Messiah praises you on a job well done.

                          WHAT GETS A REWARD
Level four is an extremely rare gift. Those who receive it may visit Messiah's most treasured room, and spend quality time with the Leader when others cannot. Only those who are the most devoted and done something of great value for the cult or Messiah are given this privilege. (Other deeds not mentioned may receive this reward).
Level three is given to those who have helped someone with the cult in a great way, such as protecting them from bodily harm, saving their life, or receiving valuable information that can benefit the cult. (Other deeds not mentioned may receive this reward).
Level two is given to those who have either recruited an exceptional amount of people or purged an exceptional amount of people. (Other deeds not mentioned may receive this reward).
Level one is given to those who have displayed noticeably good behavior and prove to be an asset to the cult. (Other deeds not mentioned may receive this reward).

                          THE VILLAGE
xxx No one is quite sure how Messiah got an entire village (other than the Wish Maker), but he has one. Hosting many houses so families can form and individuals can live on their own, a house can easily be added if need be. There is one mansion, however it primarily serves to allow everyone to gather together whenever they please. Open daily and to the public, the only places off-limits would be the fourth floor.
xxx The village has a garden in the center, where a giant fountain rests. Streetlights keep the paths illuminated. The village keeps a more victorian feel, mostly because of Messiah's own preference. Those who live in the village are all part of the cult, and allowed to decorate their homes as they please. Pets are allowed, as well, as long as they are properly cared for.
xxx Inhabitants are allowed to start shops, bars, entertainment locations, and such. Any money made is kept by the maker. Messiah wants no funds, and often denies donations.

                          THE FORBIDDEN ROOMS.
The fourth floor is completely off-limits unless you're given permission by Messiah, or have a perk that allows you access. Entering this floor without permission immediately warrants a punishment, but depending on the room you attempt to enter the punishment is worse.
The Butterfly Room is spoken about often, as the outer walls are completely glass and exposed to outsiders. However, entering it is forbidden due to Messiah's great love for his butterflies. Any and all species of butterflies rest here. The room is gigantic, taking up a large space of the fourth floor. Messiah often wiggles in here for relaxation. Running water, greenery, and a fine temperature can be found here. You can easily get lost in this green room, as the plants create almost a maze. Only the Wish Maker, Guard Dog, and Messiah's immediate family are permitted to come in and out as they please. Entering this room warrants a level three punishment.
The "homes" of the Wish Maker and Guard Dog are absolutely off-limits unless family of those ranks or Messiah himself, OR you've been invited by either of the three ranks (or their family, of course). Set up basically like an apartment and given any need they wish, the Wish Maker and Guard Dog live a fine life indeed. Their family may live with them, if they desire, have their own room on the fourth floor, or choose a home outside of the mansion. Entering the Guard Dog or Wish Maker's home without permission and a level three punishment will follow. Enter a family members home (if they live on the fourth floor) without permission and you'll receive a level three punishment, as well.
There is one special room which is only accessible to Messiah, the Guard Dog, and the Wish Maker. This room is soundproof, cold, and hosting various torture items, shackles, cages, and more. Messiah abuses those who receive the fourth punishment here, as well as outsiders he has grabbed or an enemy he has captured. People tend to never leave this room once they're brought to it. This room is unknown to all except the three mentioned previously. Anyone who enters this room without permission receives a level four punishment.

                          Homes
Messiah's Home: While his most trusted members live on the fourth floor, Messiah actually lives on the third floor of his mansion. His room is open to anyone within the cult, unless the door is closed.
Trixie's Home: Trixie resides on the fourth floor of Messiah's Mansion. She doesn't give permission to anyone to enter, except Messiah.
Joplin's Home: Joplin has a home on the fourth floor, and it is highly protected from others.
Azazel's Home: While he tends to live wherever he wants, including out of the village, he does have a home on the fourth floor.

                          REQUIREMENTS
Honestly, as long as your fox is able to handle the cult then throw them right in. They must be devoted to Messiah and the beliefs, unless following a plot that says otherwise. Those born from members of the cult would be raised within it and be heavily influenced to join, but aren't forced to.

                          THE FORM
Post the form which can be found below.

WHAT IF MY NOODLE ISN'T VIOLENT?
That's just fine! Perfect, even! The cult all together isn't overly violent. While the Devoted and Guard Dog (as well as Messiah but they have no idea) are more inclined to violence, it isn't a requirement at all. The cult is made mostly around equality within the cult and a place to be protected under Messiah's care. Violence is not blinked twice at if done to an outsider, but generally cult members don't harm outsiders in their villager, and only harm "sinners', usually. As long as the cult members are safe Messiah is happy, and so is the village. Any personality would find it a safe environment to live in, as long as they accept that violence does happen time-to-time to outsiders.

I'M WORRIED ABOUT MY NOODLE GETTING PUNISHED....
No worries! Punishments and rewards are primarily there for an owner to request! However, I will say I will PM you if I notice a cult member maiming or hurting other cult members, as that immediately needs punishment, but nothing will happen without me talking to you, and things are very negotiable! No fears. I also will never kill your fox off, and never even suggest it unless you want it to happen.

I WANT MY PET TO LEAVE THE CULT.
Okay! I can easily banish your fox, or just have them tell Messiah they wish to leave, which while is frowned upon he will allow.

                          MATING OUTSIDE OF THE CULT?
While the cult much prefers you bring your mate into the cult, sometime it isn't possible, and that is alright. It is highly preferred your child is raised in the village, though, but villagers are more understanding than you'd think. A child is not an official cult member until declaring, so no worries there. Cult members who live outside of the cult do not need to worry at all about who they mate to, though.

CAN I ACTIVELY TRY AND RECRUIT MEMBERS?
Sure! Your noodle can totally bring in others, go ahead!

I WANT TO SUGGEST AN EVENT/PLOT/RULE/ETC
Awesome! You're a life saver, I have had a hard time thinking lately! PM me your idea <3

CAN I POST IN THIS THREAD?
Oh my god, post away! Plot with others, let me know plots you want on the front page, or just talk, I don't care! Just have fun!
