A girl has spent her summer volunteering at an old peoples home, and she grows close to many of the residents. In early autumn, one of her favorite residents dies very suddenly in the night. She was upset but touched to find that she was remembered in her will. However, the gift is somewhat odd. The woman had paid for the girl and her own grandson to take a trip around Europe (or wherever) because she knew they both wanted to travel. The catch? They were traveling together, despite never having met.

Ellie couldn't believe it. Over night her favorite resident at the nursing home she worked at passed away. Her name was Jane, and Ellie adored her. Jane told Ellie many stories about her youth, and it was what Ellie looked forward to most when she came to work. Just last night, Jane was discussing what was to happen when she died. They talked about heaven and hell, reincarnation, or just disappearing into the void. They had a good time, and when Ellie told Jane she had to go home, Jane gave her an unfamiliar envelope.
To be honest, Ellie was scared, as she sat in her room at home. Sure they were good friends, but Ellie didn't know everything about Jane. The envelope was pink with a bright yellow ribbon tied neatly around it. Sighing softly, Ellie cut the ribbon off, slowly tearing the envelope open.
She flipped it upside down, a letter and two narrow piece of paper slowly falling onto her bed. She looked at the letter first, the front displaying 'To Ellie, with great love~' on the front. Ellie could instantly feel tears coming to her eyes as she fanned herself with her hand. Wow, she couldn't believe she was already crying, what a wimp. She unfolded the letter once she was sure she would cry all over it, a small photo of a guy floating down to meet the two narrow slips of paper. She turned it over, but was met with nothing! She directed her eyes over to the letter and began to read.
' Ellie, if you are reading this, I'm long gone! I don't know about you, but you've really impacted my life, my dear! You are an interesting young woman, Ellie, did you know that? I'm sure you did! Your stories of travel and exploration greatly reminded me of my grandson! Oh, he told me stories and theories, completely wearing down my poor ears! That is why I cannot hear, haha! Though I may be gone, I still believe I can bless you! In this town, you can't accomplish anything! You've got to spread you wings and fly! Maybe Europe is a good place to start! Put you heart out there my dear! Enclosed in this envelope should be a photo of my grandson, and a pass for an all-paid tour of Europe lasting 3 weeks! Don't worry about anything my dear, everything is taken care of, hotel, flight, everything! You'll have to share a hotel with my grandson, but he his swell, you'll love him! He should get in touch with you soon! Hopefully when you grow older you'll find a young lass that blessed you as much as you did to me!
-Jane
Ellie gasped loudly as she flipped over the letter. She put both hands on her head as she stared off into space, completely dumbfounded. What just happened. She grabbed the narrow paper and laughed throwing herself back onto her pillows. She moved her hair out of her face as she stared up at her ceiling. She screamed with joy jumping off her bed and jumping around her room. Europe!! Her dream place to visit, oh, she couldn't believe it! She bent over and touched her toes, collapsing onto the ground shortly after.
She clutched the ticket in her hands, sprawling out on her floor. She couldn't wait to leave this town. She couldn't!

✖ After a half an hour of sitting on his bed wiping tears off his cheeks and re-reading the letter his grandmother left for him after she died, who knew how long ago she wrote this. His grandmother had passed away last night in her bed at the nursing home she stayed in. Anton was really close to is grandmother, although him trying his hardest to travel the world and make money to he wasn't able to see her as often she was, so when he found out she passed away he was devastated that he wasn't able to say good bye.
But now with this letter from his grandma he was so happy, and honestly surprised his grandma listened to Anton talk and talk about his want to travel the world. The note said to find a pretty blonde girl at the nursing home she was staying at, to go traveling he had to go with this girl. It was odd and it was probably going to be extremely awkward going traveling with her but maybe it wouldn't be lonely. But at least he was finally able to do what he dreamed of all his life. Maybe his grandma was trying to say something by making Anton travel with this girl.
Leaving his small house, he headed towards the nursing home his grandma stayed at. Anton still needed to pick up a few more things that his mom left and find this 'Ellie' girl. Getting to the retirement home, he got out of the car and locked it with the small remote before walking in to the place. Telling the front ladies that he was here to pick up the last of his grandmas things he walked over to her old room. Walking into her room, Anton let out a small sigh, there was a small box that was left there for him to put the rest of the things there. Walking over to the nightstand he picked up a pill bottle, the picture frame of him and his 4 younger cousins, and a tissue box. Sitting down on the blank mattress Anton sighed, right now he wanted to be in his bed under two million blankets and cry. His grandmother was his best friend. She was always there when he needed her, who was he going to go to for advice or help now?
Wiping the single tear that Anton let fall he got back up and finished packing the rest of his grandma's belongings. Okay, now to find this Ellie girl. In the letter it said she was younger then all of the other workers so she was pretty easy to point out, 'look for a pretty lady with no wrinkles!' the letter said. Smirking at the thought he walked out of the room with the box in his hands, where would she be? Does she know that his grandmother wanted her to travel with him? Hopefully she's okay with this, Anton's okay with it, cause he was finally getting to live his dream. He was so ready for it to happen.
