Much later in the day, Glory sat in her home, drinking some tea thoughtfully, a pile of graded tests on her desk. Everyone had done very well, even Sugar Shine. Actually, Sugar Shine had done TOO well. She was pleased when he got the first few questions right, confused when he got a couple of the harder ones right, and completely suspicious by the time she'd finish grading his test. A colt who's average in this subject was a F managed to score an A+ over night.
Glory mulled how best to approach the matter. The direct approach would most likely cause Sugar to go on the defensive and deny her claim. Was it possible that Sugar just woke up knowing math in the morning? HIGHLY unlikely but not impossible. Besides, she had no real proof he'd cheated.
Tucking away the tests, she made up the next week's homework schedule. This would be a more subtle way to find out the truth of her new math genius's abilities.
The next afternoon, Glory handed out the homework sheets.
"You all did so well on our math exam, I've decided to advance you all a level up." She smiled, handing Sugar Shine his homework sheets.
"I'm sure you will all do well." She turned on her hoof, humming lightly. Every foal's homework sheets had the same stuff they'd been working on with a couple basic algebra questions peppered in to test the waters. Every foal except Sugar Shine, who's homework had questions from previous homework sheets as well as advanced Trigonometry questions. The bell rung and Glory waved as all her students left for the day. Now all she had to do was wait.
